i am using resurrection remix 3.0.6 with siyah kernal 4.1.5. i believe rr 3.0.6 is still not stable due to sudden lag spike. it happen so suddenly, my screen just freeze. so i make the option to pull out the battery and re-insert the battery to reboot the phone.
then it happen, it doesn't seems to be able to boot up my primary rom which is the RR 3.0.6, i try to boot up secondary rom, which happen to be the same RR 3.0.6, but nothing, the phone auto shut down. i still can go into recovery mode using 3 button combo, then i try to wipe cache, but still the same, not able to boot up RR 3.0.6.
i am very frustrated already, i choose to reinstall the ROM by doing a factory wipe/data wipe, but the data wipe thing just stay there for very long... the worst thing happen. i pull out my battery again. this is when all hell break lose... i can't on my phone, can't do 3 button combo, usb jig no use. simply nothing, like a dead fish.
however, i realise my phone started to heat up around the camera area with the battery in it... that mean a sign of life? anyone face this problem and manage to revive the phone without sending to jtag?...
This is why i am afraid of rooting GS2. GS1 was soo easy...
its not the rooting process that break my phone, its the ROM. rooting doesn't give me trouble, just 2 min using zergrush.
my phone can do nothing but heat up when the battery is put in...
Aha.. zergrush? You suggest me to not flash this rom?
Somebody know how to help this guy?
Answer
Well same kind a thing happen for me little different but yeahhh almost the same. Apparently I burn up my motherboard, that might be the warm up around your camera. Anyway still to early to say something but my suggestion is before you do anything take it to the Samsung customer service, if they can bring your phone alive then you can do it as well, but if they come up with no then you have no choice but to order new motherboard.
Hope it helps..
thanks for your suggestion... sounds like doom day... how much is the motherboard cost?
Well I just received mine today. I find a guy on ebay and you sell your bricked motherboard for 50$ bucks and you can get yours for 130$ bucks.
I install it today and works perfectly fine. But again just check with the Samsung Service then do what you need to do.

I have the same problem guys...
Last night my phone gone dead..
It is still in warranty..
Is there any chance from the service to deny the warranty?
(maybe they can see if it was rooted etc..?)
I'm so so sad.....

Not gunna go into much detail here. I'm sure most people have heard o the motherboard bug which causes the sony ericsson to over heat and reboot as soon as it is turned on and things like that. This problem only started for me when I updated to 2.1. Would downgrading to 1.6therefore stop the reboots because I never got even 1 before. Would changin the battery to a diferent one stop overheating o the battery. Maybe there is a battery specialized or this. Maybe a mugen battery would work? Help greatly appreciated. thanks in advance
I dont think so, i had the same problem and tried everything, last thing was getting the new one, and now i can do anything, and no reboot, i think u should go to SonyEricson and tell them about your problem, they will give you back your phone for about 3 times, then when your problem still persist they will give you a new device or they will change motherboard,
Good Luck (and sorry for bad english ^_^)
Out of Warranty Cant be bothered to explain why. Getting it repaired would cost a lot. CoulD I repair it myself?
your best bet it to use advanced task killer app
sent from my X10 using my wicked awesome premium xda app
I do use that app but 90 percent of the time I cant get my phone on long enough to even think about using it
have you tried reflashing the rom, via repair option on SEUS, or even Flashing a custom rom?
sent from my X10 using my wicked awesome premium xda app
yep didnt work
has anyone tried the downgrading or battery change method that can enlighten me as to wheether it will work or not. Or at least significantly reduce the reboots so I can actually use the phone

Yes i think some thing inside the rom could help. One of my friend have X10 with mainboard bug like u. But as i sure in xrecovery it never reboot even you flash a rom sooooo....it should be something inside the room or kernel
sorry i dont really understand what you want me to do :S ????
just downgraded to 1.6. Still rebooting but not as much. Not every minute anymore. It like every few minutes. Im at a loss here there must be something I can do. Warranty and paying to change the motherboard is not an option
I had the same problem, tried everything but my phone only worked when I was using it in cold places, or in front of a fan. The problem started to become worse gradually, it started playing games, then in a few minutes of light use... and then every minute. Had to flash to stock rom in front of a fan to use the warranty.
You cannot do much, unless you use the warranty you'll stand with a dead phone for now.
Isnt there a way I could like open up my phone and do something to it to make it work? There must be something out there that will work.
what if i put the phone and battery in the freezer for a day or a few. maybe it could at least stop the overheating for at leastt a few days? i wouldnt mind doing this every few days

It will work for a few minutes, once your start to use the phone, the battery will start to heat, and then it will reboot once it reach its threeshold.
I highly suggest you to try to repair it in any sony center, or at least check the price to fix it. As far as I know, you can't do anything to at least remedy it. You won't be able to use your phone well. I experienced it and tried everything it came to my mind to at least use the phone well for a few days before I gave up and sent it to the repair center.
Out of warranty and would be like 100 quid to get motherboard replaced. (sorry about caps lock) there must be something that no one has thought of
Of there is of course a problem with asking for solutions that no one has thought of....
Sorry for the cheap shot. I do have sympathy as I have the same issue, although to a much lesser extent. Got a new battery and it made no difference. Went into a phone shop today and had a chat. Although I was not 100% convinced about the guy in there he showed me another X10 that smelled the same as mine and he said it did reboot. Anyway for £15 he says he can reflash the stock ROM using a special box. He seemed convinced it was software related so I may give it a go. It is very strange that I can put the phone into xRecovery when the phone is rebooting and it is stable.
However I think your best bet is to sell your phone and get another. Not sure how much a spares/repairs X10 goes for but I can recommend the ZTE Blade as a good, cheap Android phone with a strong support over a MoDaCo. If you do this you should not be to much out of pocket.
dont really want a different phone. Lilke I said there must be something that someone knows :S
if theres no solution anyone knows, does anyone know where I can buy an xperia 10 PCB so I can dissassemble my phone and change the PCBs myself
Get insurance and lose the phone.
That is what happed this morning:
Woke up, whatsapp for a bit, suddenly, reboot itself, stuck in siya logo.
waited for 30mins, no luck, hard turn off (long press power button)..
after that, no more reboot, no download mode, no CWM, try the three button trick no luck, remove battery and three button trick no luck......
Here is what I have done with my phone before, It runs perfectly for like months:
Resurrection Remix Rom 2.2
Siyah Kernal (latest S2 version)
BLN
Overclock (200-1300) but stable with siyah
Apex launcher...
I sincerely beg for all genius developers to give me a hand...........
Try a download jig and see if that makes it respond.

If there is jo Jtag shop in Syndey, you can send it overseas for Jtag repair. But I suppose it costs a lot of money.
Alternatively, you can send it to Samsung, play stupid (phone didnt turn on this morning) and keep your fingers crossed.
Wish you luck mate.

Could anyone shed some light on all these bricked phones that were bricked out of the blue - without users fault? I mean, there are so many threads about bricking phones while doing nothing - the phone was just normally used, or even with the screen off, and it just turned off by itself/rebooted itself/froze and there was no way to recover it... Similar thing happened to me month ago - I was on a safe stock 4.0.3 ROM with safe kernel (mmc_cap_erase disabled), I have just started a game that I play regularly, the screen froze, I have waited for some time, then tried to do a hard reboot, got stuck at booot logo, and that was it. Recovery was erased - no way to enter it, download mode was still alive but it was stuck while trying to flash anything - there was an error while trying to write rom, kernel etc. I had to sent it to repair centre...
Thos was just an example, one of many. So, the question is - is this bad Samsung hardware in action, or software bugs that are causing hardware malfunctions or something else? I mean, I had few HTC Android phones before, and I have never saw anything like SGS2 Q&A forum - every second thread is about bricked phone...
Any thoughts?
I think people jump in with both feet without doing much research.I don't blame them,as I just flashed RR3 and I didn't fancy reading 62,000 posts.
Plus its a very popular phone,so maybe its only a tiny %age that are faulty.

Hello All
Have been sulking for a couple of days as I have rooted many devices and decided to root my beloved S3 I9300 international from XELLA.
Used one click option and installed and updated to latest CWM and made a full nandroid back-up.
Then followed to the letter install of AOSPA:Android 4.2.2 JDQ39][28MAR] PARANOIDANDROID 3.15 - The Pure Experience! which after a couple of days found was a very good rom but not for me so wanted to go back to stock.
Now this is where I might have made a mistake, being a noob I am not too sure. I went back to recovery factory reset Wipe data and Dalvik then tried to restore full nandroid. It went through all the MD5 checksum bit and after 25-30 mins had re-installed XELLA re-booted and everything seemed fine.
Then going through and checking my data, etc my S3 just went dead!
No backlight, no 3 button download, no power, no LED, no absolutely nothing.
I have tried battery pull for over 2 mins malarky. USB jig, different battery, different USB cable, connecting to computer by USB normally and via KIES in which the device does not even register.
I have gone through every Q & A on here but to no avail.
Basically is the Apple of my eye hard bricked (So service centre bound.) or has someone got any new ideas I could try please.
Many thanks in advance.:crying:
Edit...just noticed you tried another battery
---------- Post added at 07:57 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:55 AM ----------
Sounds and looks like a hard brick to me
Does your phone allow you into Download mode?
AndroidPlant
An everyday user.
If it won't boot into download mode then it sounds like total failure, motherboard or cpu etc blown.
Restoring your nandroid didn't cause it, particularly as it booted normally afterward. Send it to service for repair.
Totally dead!
I cannot get into download mode or anything totally dead.
The phone wasn't running hot or anything and it was about 20mins after returning to stock and all seemed fine.
I was just about to connect to PC for ODIN to root but nothing. Like I said tried download mode, another battery,USB jig, everything.
I did even look at the various JTAG threads for hard bricked phones so it does seem like a service centre job.
However as I had just switched from custom ROM and back to stock surely my counter will be showing as I could not 'triangle away'?
But if it is hardware failure, they repair and they boot it straight back into stock would they even check?
It seems warranty would be honoured as it is hardware failure not bricking via firmware. Not really sure on this one?
Many thanks in advance.
I very much doubt the service centre's approach to 'repair' would match your idea, they will only try to boot and then start replacing major parts e.g motherboard, screen etc. until it passes testing.
As long as there is no evidence of water or physical damage you should be fine, if the bootloader splash screen isn't appearing I don't see how they would even know you'd flashed a custom ROM.
try opening the phone and heat the motherboard with a heat gun or hair dryer for about 30 seconds abkout 10cm away from motherboard, it will re-solder any hardware that isnt soldered properly, if that doesnt work the solution will cost you money!
I tried the hot hair dryer trick to no avail. Spoke again to tmobile who are saying it is under warranty. So will stick it in the pre paid package they are sending and see how I get on.
10 working days minimum. Then another 5 before I hopefully get it back.
I shall post results asap for everybodys reference at that time.
Many thanks.

Hallo brothers and sister,
I own a beautiful white Samsung Galaxy S2 since December 2011.
A couple of months ago I flashed my SGS2 to Jellybean Spain(My phone is XEN, Benelux).
Everything went fine, and I didn't screw up while flashing.
But about 2 hours ago, sh*t went down..
My SGS2 suddenly frooze.
Pressing the home button and even pressing the power button didn't recover my SGS2 from the freeze.
So I decided to pull my battery out.
After about 2 seconds, I placed my battery back, but my SGS2 wouldn't reboot.
It was stuck at 'Samsung i9100'.
So I pulled the battery out for the second time.
But this time it wouldn't reboot at all!
It also won't go to download mode.
I've ordered a JIG, but there is a chance it is hardbricked.
Does somebody had/has the same problem?
And does somebody know if my SGS2 is a hard- or softbrick?
Maybe battery is busted, borrow one from a friend or sonething like that.
Phone don't die just like that.

and it ddint wanted to boot up again, had to flash stock from odin and wipe for ti to work again
Does your phone get warm (the screen mostly at the sensors and the back of your phone) when you have your battery inserted?
Yes, it does.
But after a while it stops getting warm, and it starts again when I connect my charger to my phone.

I can't tell you for sure what the problem is but that sort of happened to my phone too, and it was a hardbrick, my emmc chip got f****d. The warranty covered it up so I got it fixed at the shop. And i called Samsung Support Service and they told me that Samsung phone has 2 years warranty so just go to your shop and they should fix it.

Hi all,
In need of help urgently.
I've bought an S3 for dad recently and have finally unboxed it after the arrival of the microsim.
Went through the walk through to set up the phone, with timezone and such when you first start the phone.
Added all his contacts and noticed the screen being unresponsive toward the end of it.
Now, the screen does not respond at all. Meaning I can't swipe to open screen or receive call if phone is ringing.
I have made no adjustments to the phone, it was stock. All I've done is added some contacts saved to sim card.
Mind you, the power button still responds, so I can turn screen on and off..
Please help, I don't know if it is deemed faulty or not, what is the problem here and how can I fix it?
Brand new? If so return for warranty, easiest solution tbh

Yes it is brand new, I had just opened it today.
It was probably on for an hour before this happened.
Is it still doing it?
Also it might be downloading an update if you set up firmware update, that process might cause problems.

I would personally take it back and let them deal with it

Well if it's automatic update then I don't know but I didn't set up wifi so I don't know if it can?
Is there any solutions to this screen fix?
How would I go about getting it to respond again, given any scenario.
the best solution like mentioned....would be to get a replacement if its under warranty.
however in the mean time u can try to go ahead and remove the battery and keep it out for some time and then restarting it. also try plugging in ur device and charging it for some time.
(Sometimes there is no explanation to why such problems occur so i suggest dont do anything that will void warranty...but if everything mentioned here fails, get it replaced)
Suggest factory reset .
Hold down home button + Vol UP + Power .
Ssamsung screen shows let go .
In recovery Factory reset returns to out of the box state and cures any user errors .
jje
Ok, I've already removed the battery and sim and I'm gonna leave it out for the night and try again tomorrow.
But before I did that, I've tried to see if anything had changed after turning it off for some hours, but nothing has.
Anyway, if that fails, I'll try to factory reset tomorrow and see if that does anything.
In the mean time I've sent them an email about this just incase I do need to get it returned.
Thanks for the tips, if there is anything else I can try, please let me know. Would be much appreciated. Thanks.
EDIT:
Ok guys, I just had to do a factory reset now.
Factory reset complete and restarted phone.
Phone boots fine, and the tutorial starts like you turn the phone on for the first time.
Screen still doesn't respond, power button is the only thing that still works.
What does this mean, and will warranty void if I had done a factory reset on the phone like so?
Thanks.

No void warranty its only restored out of the box and the first thing service try is factory restore .
Return phone to the vendor as not fit for purpose .
