Install one by one and try out for 1-2 days.
This kind of question is strictly prohibited in XDA.
Not only do we frown upon this type of highly subjective question, but it also shouldn't be in Development.

Everyone is asking and talking about ICS, they complain that GSII will not be updated to ISC for "ages" to come.
I wanted to ask wether the buzz is about the Official ICS update or about the rom update. From what I know a working ICS rom should be out within weeks, am I not right? Could it be longer?
I am planing to buy a GSII but if I wont see ISC on it I'd rather get Galaxy Nexus.
Where did you hear a working ICS ROM would be out in weeks?
There are ICS ROM's around but not everything works so it's not good enough for a daily ROM, obviously everyone is hoping that a 100% working fully functional ROM comes sooner rather than later but devs need to be given as much time as they need.
ICS to be out officially late December, early January for SGS2 international...
I switched from iPhone to Android last August and have been running UnNamed ever since. I love the android. I had wanted to re-flash it with a ICS ROM, but can't find many screenshots of how each rom looks like.
I noticed that the kernel was released for ICS 4.0.3 and lots of ROMS now have this in it.
Can any of you that have tried more than one of these roms comment on which rom you think is better? I'm not sure how to tell the roms apart from each other yet :/
I found and am deciding b/w these: SHOstockv2 ICS, CM9 (Not actual 4.0.3 ICS?), and Phone-Bricker.
I'm looking for a cool-looking ROM with lots of features. Those are my only requirements really when I look for roms.
Thanks guys!
Hi. We're not going to do vs. threads on new roms that have just come out or have been here for awhile.
Every phone is slightly different and what works great for you may not for the next person. The best bet is for everyone toy the roms for themselves and see what works best for them.
The reason we dont have these vs. threads is because it can very easily (and has in the past) turned into flame wars... because when one person says "I didnt like so-and-sos rom so I moved to this rom" its inadvertently putting down the work of that dev and his rom. It may not be intentional, but it happens. So to avoid that, we just dont do it.
Hello all.
im having a small question or comment.
I was just thinking if it isnt easyer to split the android development forum into GB roms and ICS roms.
why i figured this?
well since i am using GB roms untill they make ics better than what it is right now.
i am always searching for the GB roms in the forum.
often its hard to see what type of rom it will be. since not all devs write in the title what rom it is.
its just an idear to make searching for the perfect rom somewhat easyer.
thats the only comment i can think of making here so lol.
that must show how good this forum allready is

You are about
noob number fifty with exact same post .
Answer is NO . Two reasons one GB roms will start to die off now and the other reason if you cannot work out what's what then you should not be flashing roms .
Even a brief check of the roms posted and its hard not to see all the ICS in the rom header .
jje
I am also on GB.
I find no difficulty at all in navigating between GB and ICS posts, and have no idea what your problem might be, except sheer laziness. Read.
This is a forum for the SGS2 - a phone.
It is not a software forum.
No need to use gb roms bcause ics is stable right now just try some of ics based roms

this forum doesnt need any more messing about with. If anything it needs tidying up. WHy we have original, android and android i9100G ill never know.
If it needs changing we should get rid of those and it should just be
Roms
Kernels
Themes
Seriously?
Just instantly calling me a noob Just for asking a question?
Yeah i agree that most of them have ics or gb in the header.
I was Just contributing to make it easyer to navigate True the roms. Since around 10-20 % does not have gb or ics in header.
And its surtainly not because i am lazy. Its Just more easy to search for a rom.
But hey its Just a comment from me. A simple no + reason is good enough for me. No need for calling someone a noob and saying hè should not flash etc.
And btw.
Gb dying off? 63% of Android users still use gb.
As gb is still superiour over ics in stability speed battery easyness etc. There are so many People Who dont wanna switch to ics.
And for comment on why i should use ics.
I use gb simply cause its still far more stable and far more battery friendly.
On the Day that ics Will give me more bat then gb and has all the bugs out of it. i Will switch to ics.
Peace.

Seems like you havent tried out ICS for a while then. I havent had single force close or problem with any ICS roms here. If I had a problem, it had to do with the app not being optimized for ICS instead of the rom. I havent seen any wide spread problem with ICS roms.
More battery? underclock and undervolt and I get around 2-3 days with moderate usage. I dont get any more even when I was on GB.
This is not the general android section of xda, but the i9100 section. If you havent checked, most i9100 have gotten ICS making the percentage you provided rather useless.
Rather than make yet *another* thread about this, why not ask moderators if they're keen to do what you've asked ? Hint: they're not. The question has been asked a couple of dozen times over the past 6 mths, the answer has always been a well reasoned no.

Yup.
I have lately
I do flash alot on my Phones.
And i even test ics next to gb (2 Samsung galaxy s2 Phones here)
Last week i tried 8 ics roms.
But direct compared to gb roms they lag.
The schroling speed of gb is much faster.
The time it takes to start up a game is in gb much faster.
Ive had both of ics and gb jnderclocked in almost same setting for as far as possible. And ics is Just draining!
Ofcourse dif roms give dif results.
But none of the ics is as stable or quick or battery friendly as my gb rom now.

Ok guys, as has been mentioned, the Administrators have been presented with this idea a while back and they have not acted on it. So, at this point, probably not going to happen, especially with GB on its way out.

Seen this from time to time, but with the in between phase of ICS and GB (people starting to really get more into ICS, or realize that they just still love GB too much), I figured I'd start up a new thread about it. What's everyone using to date for their daily driver, or everyday rom?
Please state whether it's ICS or GB, and what do you think of the whole ICS vs. GB situation? Is ICS working for you, and you're loving it? ICS works but you just miss GB too much? Always hated ICS, so still on GB? Post your opinions below.
Ics, and aokp been that way since task started his thread months ago. Touch response is a non issue for me

what do you think of the whole ICS vs. GB situation?
Dont really care people will choose what they like in the end
Is ICS working for you, and you're loving it?
Yup and Yup
ICS works but you just miss GB too much?
Nope, I went back thinking it was better and lasted 30 minutes before I restored back to ICS
Always hated ICS, so still on GB?
Dont know why I left this question here but Nope always loved ICS since day one it has been on my phone. This will be the same for Jelly Bean too
ICS. AOKP and fluxi since I started my time at xda and haven't been happier. Too many features on ics and aokp to go back to gb

Yea but in the States they call It the Liberty, They
are about as aerodynamic as a brick (they suck gas)
Shostock 2. Runs awesome; and I definitely prefer ICS to GB; apex launcher is great!
Opinions are like assholes. Everyone has one.
Pointless Thread, we dont do these here.
Whats better, MacDonalds or Burger King, who cares, try them out, eat what you like

Burger King, McDonalds Makes me sick.
Beans or No Beans in Chili now that is the question.
Please state whether it's ICS or GB
ICS ShiShir ROM with apex launcher
and what do you think of the whole ICS vs. GB situation?
Don't notice enough of a difference in "smoothness" to really care
Is ICS working for you, and you're loving it?
I love the chrome browser and ICS is working well enough for me to not revert back. First ROM i have tried so might give AOKP a shot.
Sorry, but i am going to kill this here.
As a matter of course, (because of previous issues), "Vs." threads are a no go on this board.
even more... i am sorry, but this thread will accomplish nothing but bickering (not yet) or useless comments (oh yeah, got those already). As it is, with so many roms, with enough time, you will get a sample of everyone using everything.
The best suggestion, is to read about the roms that interest you, and ask questions specific to that rom.

...be honest. You just dont want the trolls to come out and play.
Well sure.. i was just trying to be nice about it.
But the trolls were just itching to say something. I bet there was about 4 more who were about to hit the "send" button when you killed the thread. Oh the horror...
hi ive been reading alot on jellybean and ics but what really are the advantages, disadvantages over ics?
at the risk of slightly answering my question ive read that jellybean isnt compatible with alot apps atm whereas ics is, so really i cannot see any reason to upgrade from ics any one else think this and wish to point bits out ive missed?
and finally, no dissing jellybean but should the release have been held off another month or few so that apps could have a chance to catch up or is it the same answer from other posts ive read "samsung cant release decent software" Quote.
WTF? I'm using JB for a week and ALL my apps I've installed on ICS are compatible with JB.
It depends what you do with your phone.I only had problems with mucked up storage and had to change modems cos of data probs.
But the positives outweigh the negatives.

I have been using JB for one week without problems and I'm using the same apps that I had in ICS, so I think that isn't really a problem.
