Hi I want to root my GT-I9100 without flashing any kernel. I found some thread here to do this on ICS, but I don't know if it is for 4.0.3, 4.0.4, or both?

Hi All,
I am running 4.2.1 on my phone now and I believe it's very unstable. I'm getting a lot of crashes. I want to go down to 4.1.2 as it was great. Can someone please tell me how to downgrade? Should I just flash 4.1.2 on the phone from ODIN? Is it as simple as that or no?
I tried to search, but couldn't find any solutions. Please help. Thank you.

Yes its that simple . Read the downgrade thread read the faqs and stickies if you want more information .
4.2.1 is not a full release so it is buggy .

Thank you for your quick response. Do I need to watch out for a specific firmware like the XELLA or whatever? Or any I9300 firmware should be fine?
You can use any 4.1.2 rom.I back with xperianze .

EMB5 is a good stock release, find it over at Faryabs stock Rom thread in general.
It might be worth backing up your internal sd before the flash in order to format it, as this will get rid of the sd/0 partition layout and the get it back to the 4.1.x layout

NO GB on SGS3
This method is rather old and Philz recovery is better especially in regard to SDS .

Stick to 4.1.2 or newer.
what rootSU means is that 4.1.2 has the SDS fix. check the SDS thread in General to find out more
At first I have flashed 4.2.2 leak (ME3) on my galaxy s3. After that I flashed Omega v7.0 Aokp on my phone. And it is still running.
But now I want to revert back to 4.1.2 official rom. So please guide me how to do it step by step. I will be very thankfull to you.
