Hello, i have tried to reset binary count with triangle away and it didnt work. Tried with siyah 1.5.3, cf kernels and didnt reset. After i reset with triangle away it shows that binary count is 0 but after reboot it goes always for 1. Also i have reached binary count-3, have reset, after reboot it shows still 1. Also i got little red note of exclamation while s3 is booting up. So wtf could it be? thx for any help

Why are you trying to reset it?? Only reset it if you're planning on sending your phone for repair, if not don't play around with it because you can brick your device, I've not seen it happen but it is possible!

I am curious what exactly happened here... did you install the ICS leaked odin one click .exe or just a ROM from the dev section?
What did you do to brick it? What stock kernel did you try to flash exactly?
Thanks!
I think he was trying to flash the GB kernel on the ICS build.
Why do people use the term brick so loosely? Just reflash back using the Odin one click or flash another rom using cwm.

Sorry, i ll brief it a bit.
I have an s2 , in which i wish to flash paranoid android. I found out a method in these forums which allowed us to root our phone without installing cwm recovery (i.e. cwm through odin). It required only a flashable zip which could be flashed via the stock recovery. After flashing the zip, i was in cwm interface which was temporary and was gone after a reboot.
Wanted to know if this temporary custom recovery could make a nandroid backup and flash paranoid.

Now your phone is rooted and you have access to temporary CWM recovery. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
1. Yes, you can use the temporary recovery to create a Nandroid backup.
#So just create your backup now
2. Flash a custom kernel of your choice via the temporary CWM recovery
3. Flash paranoid Android and Gapps.

I'd still call your provider about getting a possible warranty... if the screen were 'broken' you could get a warranty replacement, so I'm sure that's not what he's suggesting is wrong with your phone. It seems like just a defect of the phone... if it's not causing any problems now, it might in the future... it's hard to say what'll happen but regardless, if you have a warranty the provider is obligated to replace the phone with one that works properly Good luck!

My phone came back from repairs after "sudden death syndrome" with a new motherboard and freshly-flashed stock firmware; UNROOTED mind you, but sporting the red mark on the screen. Although it was rooted when it died, I can't imagine what component would have been left in the phone to reveal the fact it had been rooted.
So, no: I'm pretty sure it's not root-related. I think it's just a 'feature' of newer boards.
When did your friend get his s3? Because i think devices from soke point have upgraded bootloader which uses that method to show you are rooted, meanwhile my device (bought it in july) doesnt have that yet, maybe study little bit and flash old bootloader, but its risky...

I have same experience... If u root & flash custom roms than the red mark will appear.. If u just wanna root means that just flash cf auto root using odin on stock rom than install triangle away & reset the counter.. After that the red mark will dissappear... Plug your phone into the computer using the usb and let windows find your drivers. Then make sure (above all) that you have enabled USB degugging. It will always fail if you don't. I use kingo and I have a Sprint Mega as well and it took about 2-3 mins for kingo to root it. I kept it stock because I haven't seen any roms or recovery that I'm sure will work right now but I was able to remove all the crappy bloatware off.

Thank you. Ive rooted awhile ago. I just redid the twrp recovery method and it worked. I see there are roms out for other variants of the 6.3. Just wonder if any will work for ours.

I see a lot out there too but I'm leery on trying any out only because I use this phone as my daily driver and can't mess it up right now. I might dedicate some time this weekend to trying out CM11. I'll let you know if it works.

Kingo Root SUCKS....does nothing but an endless cycle of checking root status and rebooting my phone. There HAS to be a better solution!

Hi, I bought a Samsung S6 Edge used.. It was previously rooted and the knox counter was tripped...
I'm having some serious issues with it. From apps/google services to crash. It was previously rooted so I flashed the stock firmware on the phone. Even when I setup the phone (language and google accounts) some services crash... I can't recieve OTA Updates anymore because the status is set to custom and Triangle away does not work on S6's. I can't replicate anything to make a certain app crash, it's just random.. I need your help because i tried everything I could..
Stuff I did:
Flashed stock firmware (5.0.2)
Flashed an Update (5.1.1)
Factory reset and cache reset in boot loader.
Factory reset then flash the odin updates and let me know the results. In that order is how i unrooted mine while im waiting for the android m update

Okay, wouldn't a factory reset bring the status to official if I did it after the stock flash with Odin?

The data partition keeps record after the update has been complete so the update will still see something has been done so doing one before the other will solve it i believe. If it doesnt ill see if i can help you solve it.

Nope factory reset in bootloader then a stock flash (5.1.1) in Odin didn't solve it...

Got the updates from sammobile .. Kind of pissed off.. bought this phone used and tought it wouldn't bug as much :/
Did you download the latest update that shows on the site because if you accidently downgrade this can happen. I did so with my tablet and had a lot of issues including sammobile was being too glitchy and not letting me sogn up but glitched by it with tapatalk and flashed the latest update from sammobile ans it worked

That's odd. Are you flashing the correct firmware for your variant? What variant do you have and what firmware did you Odin?

I have the SM-G925W8 (Canadian version)
I flashed the correct firmware 5.1.1 (G925W8VLU2BOI1) . I also tried another 5.0.2 firmware back when I was running (5.0.2) it wouldn't change the binary status or make it so apps don't crash& I dont have random freezes/reboots..

This is odd being that you tried a factory reset. Are you sure that you have the latest Google play services?
