You meant flashing CWM by stock Android recovery (3e) / Odin or flashing a ROM by CWM / Odin?

Sorry, i ll brief it a bit.
I have an s2 , in which i wish to flash paranoid android. I found out a method in these forums which allowed us to root our phone without installing cwm recovery (i.e. cwm through odin). It required only a flashable zip which could be flashed via the stock recovery. After flashing the zip, i was in cwm interface which was temporary and was gone after a reboot.
Wanted to know if this temporary custom recovery could make a nandroid backup and flash paranoid.

Ok.
Now your phone is rooted and you have access to temporary CWM recovery. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
1. Yes, you can use the temporary recovery to create a Nandroid backup.
#So just create your backup now
2. Flash a custom kernel of your choice via the temporary CWM recovery
3. Flash paranoid Android and Gapps.
If you have any question, don't hesitate to ask me

Pre-Rooted kennel.
Ps: 99.9% of all custom ROMs for galaxy s2 comes with Pre-Rooted kernels

Regarding the kernel whose link u gave, i have some doubts

Correction
Recovery doesnt depend on BASEBAND...
ROMS depend on it.
I have tried using the official gingerbread here in the us, and i couldn't get the 3g data working..
On another note, you can use the clock work mod for the new base band, on the old base band... It works great, and is the most recent.

"The previously leak was version UCLC5. The following build is UCLD3. This is a major bug fix build, so there are no new features. Those who are testing this build out say it’s smoother than ever, although Instagram still doesn’t work. Without further ado, use the guide below to flash the new leak onto your SGH-I717."
Cool.. new leak :-D getting closer to official... then kernel sources and we even have init.d injection from another member... things are getting juicy personally waiting on a CWM version/ROM by a known dev using this base before I test drive it. Neat none the less and glad cwm/root are attainable without modification after Odin.

Sorry beforehand, my english is bad and this may be a long read.
I know that on the noob video you ask us to keep it short, but i think it won't hurt to explain what i need, what i found, and what i don't get yet.
Ok, i've got my SE LWW about a month ago, unfortunately it has bootloader locked and it's unlockable.
Then i decided to start experimenting.
Tried a few Custom ROMs, and they were great, but some lacked a function i liked from Stock ROM, or lacked my languaje (spanish).
This is my 1st Android phone, i come from a "long line" of Symbian devices, so i was used to make custom firmwares for my devices. I used to change stock wallpapers, settings and apps so everytime i had to do a hard reset (or factory restore) everything would be as i wanted, so i wanted to do about the same with Android.
So where do i began?
Searching the net, of course, i found myself directed to this place many times, and i found many "Make your Own Custom ROM" topics, but most all of them were for different devices or different Android versions.
So, i followed some tutorial on making a custom rom.
Took the Stock ROM, renamed it to .zip and extracted the files there.
"Alas, the system folder is a file named "system.sin" instead, what do i do with this?"
Extract it with ftf extractor, obviously
Great, i now see all the files suppossed to be on the system folder
Now i can edit its contents
...but wait a second...
1.- Ok, now i have some APKs i want to have on my cellphone, and deleted many, while updating some that have updates... but now... how do i make this into a system.sin file again?, or just making a system.zip and using CWM should work?
2.- Do i need to use some special setting for the .zip file, which i have to rename to .ftf?
Key questions are these, plus some:
3.- can i get a custom rom like this to be flashed directly by using Flashtool?
4.- can it have CWM and Root too?
5.- if it can be "this easy", what is the kitchen used for, then?
Now for what i have:
Sony Ericsson wt19i Live With Walkman
Stock ROM 4.1.B.0.587 (ICS)
Rooted using DarkLords' Zerg method and XPeria Root rev.4
So far, i've deleted many built-in apks, and i got around 100mb (or so) "system" space available on the phone
i know i can make some backup files with CWM, but to get it to work after a "failed experiment" means flashing, then rooting, then flashing again, and getting back the root with ICS, that's why i'd like to make a Custom ROM which could be flashed from Flashtool directly
Thanks for reading, and sorry, it sure was a lot (and there was so much else i wanted to ask...)

I tried Real ICS and Real MIUI
Real ICS lacked some stuff i liked from Stock Rom, but it's a great Custom ROM, it replaces many original features with better and upgraded versions.
Real MIUI replaces pretty much everything, making your phone look a totally new and different device, but this version doesn't has spanish as languaje. I don't quite mind the lack of it, but my girlfriend complained she wasn't able to use it

Copy, paste and fix from Real ICS:
Copy the zip file to your SD card
Reboot your device in CWM
Make a full data wipe-factory reset
Wipe cache and Dalvik cache
Choose install zip from sd card
Choose the zip file you copied earlier
Wait for installation to finish, reboot and follow the sony setup wizard through the rest of the setup process
Reboot again and enjoy!
The process is pretty much the same for all custom roms with locked bootloader

Try MiniCMSandwich, that's got a very different UI. That's abnormal...
First, if you're trying to build your own ROM, look at this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=560271
This will reduce the size of your apps. Since I see you care about free space.
Take a LWW ROM and just edit it to your liking. e.g. change build.prop, updater-script etc.
Or, if you extracted /system form ftf file. Take another ROMs zip, and delete it's /system folder and replace with yours.
It worked for me. It's easier if you find a zip without aroma installer though.
Hope that helps

I'm currently running FXP137 CM9.1 on my LWW, but there are some stuff I would like to have from stock ROM.
To put it simple, from Cyanogenmod I would like to have the lockscreen, customization options (like home screen grid size, notification bar toggles, etc...) and the buttons on the bottom of the home screen rather than the 4 corner docks and from stock, I would like to have all the apps (camera, calculator, calendar, phone, messages, etc...), widgets, equalizer, xLoud and Xperia theme. Something that would look more or less like this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1796272
What directions should I take? And should/can I start from CM9 or from Sony stock ROM?
Thanks in advance!

Why are you trying to reset it?? Only reset it if you're planning on sending your phone for repair, if not don't play around with it because you can brick your device, I've not seen it happen but it is possible!

flashed stock odexed 2 times, criskelo, omega, wanam roms and still that red exlamation mark. I can access cwm without any problems, all functions are working, but binary count is always 1, i can reach 5 or more, reset with triangle away but still it will show 1
You may want to consult Chainfire, but i have an idea, flash stock ROM via Odin and check update bootloader, but double check with a senior developer first as I don't want to be responsible for a bricked device. Have you tried flashing with Odin?? Without bootloader update?? And starting again??

All models are I9300 mate (American, far east, Asian and European) all the same model, as Lithuania is in Europe, you should be flashing i9300XXLH3 not ZNBLH3, that's for china! Download I9300XXLH3 and try flashing that!

OK guys! Up and running with few issues and only minor bugs that I see (could just be my phone)
The first time I flashed I followed instructions to the letter and had no issues getting up and running until I went to adjust Agni settings. I was told I had lost root, so as instructed in OP I flashed super SU in recovery. This is where my phone decided to bootloop upon rebooting.
Second try went way better to get the phone to boot this time I just added an extra step in between 7 & 8 where instead of flashing the kernel at step 7 I flashed SU, rebooted into recovery, then flashed kernel, and rebooted for the last time to a beautiful ROM.
Thanks dev for the great stuff!
A few minor bugs I have found so far on my phone are below.
1) Torch isn't working
2) Swipe aka continuous input leaves trails but doesn't seem to input text when word is complete
That's it for now! Overall great work! Love all the black <3
Sent from my T0LTE using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
The black is definitely very apealing . I removed the backgrounds so it is just pure black, changed all my icons to be a greyish-white color, and I flashed the liquid smooth gapps instead because it makes YouTube and the play store black as well. Loveing it.
Seriously super smooth! Minor bug to report: no live wallpaper support. But wow! Nice work!

Hi
I was on your previous ROM and loved it. I was very sad when you discontinued it... As I remember it you had some hardware which crashed.
I'm currently on Will03's slimbased 4.4.4 ROM.
It seems to me that the major difference between that and yours is minor interface things and agni.
Is this correct?
Also... Since I'm already on a SlimRom, I should be able to dirty flash the ROM (just clearing cache and dalvik) and then reboot into recovery, flash SuperSU, reboot and flash agni.
What do you think, mykalbrock?

Full wipe would be the best thing. Otherwise you'll have lots of force closes, this rom is based on omnirom where as slimrom i believe is aosp based which would pose an issue.
