[Q] Way to print using USB cable? - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there a way to print material, say recipies from the internet, to a printer that doesnt have wi-fi capability?

Take a look at google cloud print and see if your printer is supported. It seems to work ok for me. Sometimes the print jobs take a while though.

Crazy Question - use phone as a wireless camera

Would it be possible, or has it been done.
Could you use the camera with some software that sends a video stream over the WIFI that can be viewed on another device?
Wow. Based on the huge amount of traffic, I am guessing the answer is no.
I thought web camera plus allowed one to do this with a device synced over bluetooth or wifi, even through 3G.

i could never get this to work well with my tytn2. have not tested with the touch pro, however.
support is lacking for this app as well. it is the only one available, so its up to you if you want to try it out

Check that out.
That won't allow you to use it on your laptop though....
I have used the webcam plus...
Is tricky at times to get working but it does work. I suggest locking the phone though because you WILL hit buttons on the scren trying to point the camera since you can't see the screen.
I havenot trie bluetooth or WiFi but if you can sync your phone to your laptop using those methods then it should work.
Best thing i seen it works and its free and good quality

I'm not sure how the IP webcam app for Android (linked above) helps since the Touch Pro runs Windows Mobile.
Anyway, for VOIP, the app PortGo actually works fairly well on this phone.

Just trawl this site: freewarepocketpc.net or even XDA because I am sure I saw something a few months ago just like what you want.

[Q] printing from cellphone via USB hookup to printer

Is there any way to print from a cellphone via USB hookup to printer? Don't have a wireless enabled printer or one that can be accessed through a network. Defeats the whole purpose if I have to boot up the computer just to print something. If I did that, I would just use the computer in the first place.Just would like to plug USB cable into phone and be able to print like you would using laptop or desktop by plugging in.
Any thoughts? Apps on market are geared toward wireless or network type accessing.

if you printer has an ethernet card you can use Printbot, and print through your network.
I have my non-wireless Brother printer hooked up via ethernet to my wireless router. I use the app "PrinterShare" to print from my phone wirelessly.
Sorry, I don't know how to do it via USB.
Depends on your printers capabilities.

[Q] Print to printer with usb?

I assume the answer is no but anyone think its possible to print to a printer through usb with the otg adapter? My printer is an epson and they have an app from the market that prints over wifi. I don't have wifi so just hoped I could connect it and print away.
When connected it knows it's a printer, which is nice. It also says it can print to Samsung printers but mine wasn't supported. Also tried an app called printershare which will print to use, except my exact printer model wasn't on their driver list.
I am able to use my Acer a500 tablet which has a full size usb port. Acer has a decent print application too.
Just in case anyone needed to do the same as me.

You said you can print over wifi but you have no wifi why don't you just make a hotspot and connect your printer to it if it's capable of and try that way? But you might run into the same problem you have where you can only print to Samsung Printers.
I tried that. Maybe I did something wrong but I can't get it to work over a hot spot.

If your printer is connected to your computer and it has internet access just set it up as a printer in google cloud print. Then use printshare to print to your printer. About the best I can offer you.

Don't be afraid to try other drivers in Printer Share. If your exact model doesn't show try some others from the same manufacturer. I've had to do that before with some older printers and have had good luck. I've never had Printer Share fail me with a wifi printer, don't know how it works with connected printers as I've never tried it that way.
Good luck.

old phone as a printer server

anyone having opd Android phone with otg, can use it to have a printer server, that allows your usb printer to connect to local wifi.
many apps out there but i haven't found any one that works good.
will be more than happy to get a recommendation for that app.
thanks.

View and Control Nokia 8 from PC

Hi all,
Just bought my Nokia 8 the other day. Got it for AUD$499! from Harvey Norman - who was out of stock - but price matched by JB Hi-fi.
I was using a Samsung Note 4, which was doggone slow. Might be resetting that one and putting it up for sale - any potential takers?
My Note 4 used SideSync, which connected to by PC via USB cable. Sidesynced allowed me to see and control my Note4 on my PC. I can do everything on the phone from my PC - I liked sending texts and SMS for example.
There doesn't appear to be an equivalent for the Nokia 8. I have seen alot of mirroring apps that require screen casting, but none which allows connection via USB.
The question - what is the equivalent out there to SideSync (which is only compatible with Samsung phones. I've tried it and it does not work). I've enabled USB debugging. The Nokia 8 says SideSync keeps closing. I can see the phone from my PC as it's connected by USB - so I can see the files on the phone from my PC - but cannot see the phone's screen or do anything to the phone.
Thanks all.
Hi,
You could try AirDroid if you know, which it gives you the option to control the phone and send texts and many other things. The only thing which i don't know if it suits you, is that it syncs through the wifi network... You connect the phone to your wifi network, and from your pc you go to a link that the app gives you and scan the QR code and thats it...
Try it maybe it will do the job for you.

Thank you for responding. I really want a USB connection to the PC as going over the air through my companies WiFi I am sure will slow things down. I have looked at Apowermirror and they want you to pay to use it and it's UI is a bit clunky. There's also Wondershare Go, but there doesn't seem to be an app on the playstore for screen mirroring, though I did do this with my Note 4.
MyPhoneExplorer
Hello, give a try to My Phone Explorer. It's free and very straight forward I think. I used it without issues.
If you Google it you'll find a link from fjsoft, that's the right one.
Good luck.
Hello, i use Vyzor to cast the screen of my N8 on my PC by using the usb connection.
The application can be used as free but if you need some quality you will need the paid version.
