HTC EVO 3D EE LTE 4G Compatible?
I went into my local orange shop and they said no its a hardware upgrade like the new htc one xl due for release and a new 4g sim card, not too happy about this myself i love the exclusivity of the evo 3d. The cdma version in the states can handle it though maybe the technology is in the phone just needs telling to work on a custom rom and a 4g sim, it wouldn't surprise me if the networks tried to hide this from us.

Thank You.
Unless you happen to be a crazy mad genius and could somehow integrate 4g LTE hardware into the hardware ofbthe EVO 3d and then program the motherboard to work with it along with modifying the kernel drivers to work with all of it then you'd be the greatest in the history of xda and possibly the entire world!!! But of course this is all purely speculation.. But a guy can dream right?

FACEPALM
we cant even get 4g on jelly bean to work
I think we got a shot at getting work better than the sense 4.1 roms.

I read how to toggle it off, but if I'm in an area that has no LTE yet maybe it doesn't matter. Or is it always scanning for LT? I have great battery so far without messing with the setting, but would it be a little better by shutting LTE off?
I switched mine to cdma only, but I haven't seen any difference in battery life with it off vs on. YMMV

I believe turning to cdma only turns off CDMA-eHRPD.

I will say I consistently get speeds 500 kbps slower when I go to CDMA only, so I'm leaving LTE on.
yes i also get much lower speeds when going to cdma only
My speeds are similar either way, except for my ping speed which is vastly better with CDMA only.

This is true....discussed a little over at s4gru about this....though still some unknown/unsolved things relating to eHRPD i think...
My speeds dropped with LTE off as well. Particularly upload speeds.
With CDMA only I was around 20-30 kbps up.
With LTE/CDMA it's twice that. Interesting to know! Thanks for the post.
just ran about 5 tests on lte and cdma only. no noticeable difference.
.22-.88, hovering around .32 on LTE
.25-.67, hovering around .38 on CDMA
ping of 260-280 on both
upload of .25-.5 on both
Central Austin (no NV improvements yet)
I tested this just now, and I don't see difference either.
my pic from another thread... all the 2000s are cdma only and the others are cdma/lte

I contacted HTC about it, and got this:
Thank you for contacting HTC about your new EVO 4G LTE! Congratulations on your new phone! Do you love it?! I’ve had mine for about a week now and I have to say, I’m in love! I do understand how important maximizing your battery life is in your phone and I’m happy to tell you that changing the mobile network from LTE/CDMA to CDMA only will have no effect on the battery life!

Ok. I thought Atlanta already had it. Thanks!

Some sites around ATL did go live but then I think they blocked them. Probably just testing. I remember reading that someone in Smyrna and Lawrenceville had picked it up. Hopefully they'll get Atlanta rolled out soon enough!!

I went on a business trip to ATL 2 weeks ago and got LTE for an hour before it cut back out. It showed up on my bill this month and it was kinda depressing knowing that it was probably the only time I'll ever see it -.-

Wherever you have 3g service you will have 4glte it may take a while for sprint to get to your area depending on where you are located
Since I got this phone I like it a lot the speeds were very decent compare to my old nexus but today is been really bad here in las Vegas anyone else have this problem? It looks like LTE is far from coming Herr so I doubt is that

I'm asking if is in las Vegas problems or my account I updated profile and prl and same thing I got full bars and 3G (flashed a Rom so it tells me if I'm on 3g) you don't need to waste a post to just say that , really you have the much time to waste

Sprint data speed is terrible in most areas... The common answer you will get from here is either:
1) switch to a different carrier.
2) wait for network vision.
Or
3) take your phone to sprint.
Welcome to Sprint...
The only true unlimited data network with no data cap.........since youll be spending half the month loading one web page

So yeah, I was in the parking lot of a Walmart near where I live and noticed I had an LTE connection, so I ran a speed test and got this:

Pretty respectable.
I pulled forward one parking spot and ran another speed test and got this:
... 10 feet. I drove about 50 feet and parked again. (Safely, by the way.) I ran another speed test and got this:
Needless to say I'm kinda lost as to how finicky and flaky Sprint's network is. I'm not complaining (much), but I think it's kinda humorous how sensitive the 1900mhz band and the virgin LTE network is.
What modem/firmware and prl are you on?
I had similar results on my evo, the whole while the s3 stayed connected

This was on the 1.22 firmware.
I've noticed the same thing... its pretty flaky. But I will say this... Its 10X better than Wimax ever was. And the fact that you can keep LTE on without sapping your battery down to nothing in 2 seconds is awesome. 3G is fast enough when I'm out and about. And, if wifi is available at most places I end up...
The signal meter next to the 4g is not the LTE signal. Not every tower has 4g on it so you were probably on the fringe. And the EVO LTE sucks when it comes to picking up LTE.

I LOL'd pretty hard at the OP's post.
Woohoo sprint
Curious to find out if your are on the latest radios.

I was on the 1.22 firmware. The 2.13 firmware won't connect to LTE unless I flip airplane mode on and off.
So i'm not sure if im actually getting 4g LTE because it was just implemented in our city. This may be a stupid question but i want to make sure im getting the most out of my phone.
Im currently running Tasks's AOKP jellybean rom with the latest build 12/2, and i love it. I just did a clean wipe/install and setup how i like, and changed the apn settings accordingly to task's FAQ thread to the most ideal settings according to the Pros. I am receiving mobile data, and everything should be ship shape.
However, i ran this rom once before, and when I went out and about, the best coverage i've gotten has been HSPA+, which im pretty sure is just normal 4G. But, I want to enable 4g LTE somehow.. I talked to the guys at AT&T once and they said HSPA+ is 4g lte, it just wont change the icon. How can i be sure 4g LTE is running, and if its possible can you switch the stupid hspa+ icon to 4g. How can all this be done?
Thank you.
Our phones don't support 4G or 4G LTE technology
SMH
The person you talked to at your AT&T store doesn't know what he is talking about. HSPA+ is not LTE. Technically it's not even 4g, it's 3.5g.
!!!
gahhh your joking...right? When i bought the phone a year ago they were all like 'the galaxy s 2 is the highest damand, fastest phone. If your gonna mod it n **** then its the one for you' and i was like hmmm 'does it have 4g' and they were like 'yes but we dont have it in your area yet, but you will get it when its available.'
Its bull****. ****ing customer service.
