[Q] What FTF to use. - Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo, Pro

Hi guys,
I have an Neo unlocked with Night Elf 1.5 kernel and King's ROM.
But I don't think I have already flashed to .587 firmware even though everything is working correctly.
My "About Phone" screen shows:
8x55-AAABQQAZM-203028G-70 ==> so I think I don't have 587 ? Is this correct ?
Now what I don't know is :
What version of FTF for the .587 do I need to use ? ( I live in Belgium.)
I have downloaded this :
Xperia Neov_4.1.B.0.587_India SI 1254-8966 by abhiheart (376 MB)
and
MT15i_4.1.B.0.587_Global (only 236MB)
I don't know if I need to use these 2 that's why I am asking.
Could you guys give me an link to the correct one ?
PS: What JB roms are fully working because the overview thread hasn't been updated in a while
Thanks!

What you wrote above(from about phone screen) is baseband. It can be changed without changing entire build.
What you need to check is build number, but since you flashed custom ROM, I kinda doubt it have stock build number.
But if we can take assumption that you didn't changed baseband on your own, then no, you don't have .587, you have .562
Android 4.0.4; 4.1.B.0.587 have baseband 77
Android 4.0.4; 4.1.B.0.431 have baseband 72
Android 4.0.3; 4.1.A.0.562 have baseband 70 (which wasn't even officially out for Neo)
Android 2.3.4; 4.0.2.A.0.62 have baseband 64
Android 2.3.4; 4.0.2.A.0.42 have baseband 56
p.s. forgot to wrote, ftf's are in sticky thread in general section

Hi
Thanks no I do not know how to change it by myself , I only flash things ;
MT15i 4.1.B.0.587 NCB, Nordic, CDF-1247-0875
multiupload(TnX to MScorpionZ): http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...&postcount=121
OR
google docs(TnX to petulinka1): http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...&postcount=123
These 2 are in the general section
Are those both for my country?
Why do they have different sizes ? ~230 or ~360 ?
Thanks
Kind regards !

Well, Belgium is not in Nordic region. But if you ask if it will work on your phone then yes, it will.
And about file size, have you check entire filenames/extensions?

Hi
Both have the FTF extension.
But both have different file sizes so ... I don't know ?
Maybe off topic: are there fully working JB roms except the JB port by Paranoid ?
Thanks.

No, they are not. One is a zip, other one is ftf.

Yes that is true, but when you unpack the zipped one then the size is still different
Kind regards

Ah, now I see what you were saying. Don't worry, files inside ftf are same size.
In few latest flashtool versions(to be more precise in 0.9.1.0 and above), created ftf's are compressed, while in older they were just packed in without compression.
You can use any of those ftf's, flashtool will extract both of them with no problems.

pls i want the steps to do that

Not sure how to flash frimware, sorry
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
Well i tried to use the debrand method which is working with X10 using the information provided by user pulpoff in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=835457
I edited my build.prop file using his ro.semc.version.cust version but update service still did not allow me to update from 1.3.A.0.50 to .62 firmware. So obviously there are differencies between x10 and x8. We also do not have database with decrypted x8 firmwares yet and i am not sure if flashtool is also compatible with X8 (it is stated that it should work but i am not aware of anybody who tested it to X8 yet). If somebody is interested i can upload the files from my seus db folder to be decryptedi I have generic global firmware 1-.3.A.0.50 with following data from my build.prop.
ro.product.name=E15i_1241-3728
ro.semc.version.cust=1241-3728
ro.semc.version.cust_revision=R3A
Here is my software info:
phone software version:
1236-9291_1.3.A.0.50
Generic-user
file system version:
world-1-8_1.3.A.0.50
customization version:
1241-3728_R3A
If all you want is 1.3.A.0.62, keep your build.prop version at 0.50, than do update over SEUS with my country info.
I've done this a few times, also I have found nordic build.prop, but alas, X8 has no 2.1 update yet for nordic neither.

Thank you for this information pulpoff. I will try again to update this way. Can you please post the details of nordic build.prop just in case we need it when the update is out.
Using customization version 1241-3728 i managed to get the 1.3.A.0.62 update. This are some good news. At least when the update comes it will be easy to switch to the region where it is released first.

last qusetion is what is the region of this version ?
THANKS again
Using both customization 1241-3728 and 1241-3708 i have market and many languages to use for writing and interface. My phone is on english now. If you are interested in any particular language i can check if it is present or not. Both firmwares listed (1241-3728 and 1241-3708) seem to be generic world but i don't know what are the differencies in customization.
well the phone is updating from SEUS right nw by ur software version
i have onther qusetion
when 2.1 update avialbale , the SEUS will update me as ur country version or as my countery version of software ?
If you debrand using my customization code you will make your phone software same as mine and so will get the update together with me. When the update appears we can always debrand to the region where the update is first released and update so do not worry about this.
wow that what i want
thank you so much

thats nice
thankx anyone try with me

Hi all,
I've tried to enter these details into the build.prop file:
ro.product.name=E15i_1241-3728
ro.semc.version.cust=1241-3728
ro.semc.version.cust_revision=R3A
with Root Explorer. The file saved and I then tried to update via SEUS however it's putting me back on to my old customization! Could you please post a step by step of what I need to change in order to get a different country firmware to my current as the one I have is from Middle East and therefore doesn't have the Market!!
Cheers
EDIT: Ignore me, tried it again and it has worked!! Not sure what the region is but I have Market now so am well happy. thanks for your previous posts with the customization codes
Great
enjoy , its better more than meddile east

Thankyou very much, can you explain how you got these files please?
Do you have the ST18a ones too?
I just dropped cyanogenmod urushi nightly onto my xperia ray.
It started as a stock st18a and after the nightly reports as an st18i. Weirdly everything seems to be working. I'm assuming I hosed HSPA freqs, though. I haven't figured out how to test that.
Anyhow, I do have a nandroid image of my stock st18a prior to cyanogen. I have no idea how to pull the baseband from that (looked around here and googled a fair amount to no avail). Happy to do so if someone can give me a pointer.
no link for .64?
please show step by step flash to st18a
Thank,
Baseband collection up to date.

Works fine in my Xperia Ray st18a(i) *model changed due to CE Gingerbread, but no big deal. Still connecting to 2g and 3g no problems so far. Stock Kernel.
Only problem with Xperia Ray st18a is very Low volume level in Calls, both on Speaker and Ear Speaker. I don't know if this is due to the baseband or firmware. I could only find st18i Gingerbread firmware.
---- Edit - now trying baseband 64 with Gin2KK ---- will update. I know there are a lot of users throughout the world still using older devices so if anyone is reading this, I will keep you guys posted.

miniCM7 2.1.9 rom compatibility with my u20i

Hi there. I am advised to with this rom and nAa 11 (kernel). I see it's good advice since there is a lot of people enjoying this rom. However today when i checked rom installation requirements i noticed somethig.
Here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1415026
They say that phone need to have:
Requirements:
Latest 2.1.1.A.0.6/2.1.1.C.0.0 SE firmware / Baseband: M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404015
But my phone is:
firmware 2.0.A.0.504 and baseband is
M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-534040056
Am i going to get in to trouble if i upload this rom anyway?
Thanks in advance
1. try updating with flash tool: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=986692 or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=826455
a good guide for flashtool: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=928343
2. alternately download pc companion: http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/sup...ject/pccompanion/xperiax10minipro?cc=ph&lc=en
and update you phone software.
3. use seus but i cant find the link to download.
because if you dont it wont work and as they always say "I wont be held responsible if you brick you phone"
You have to use the correct firmware and baseband. Otherwise will have problems.
I flash a few roms with the wrong baseband and had a lots of problems of stability.
Now I have MiniCM7-2.1.9, with nAa-11 kernel and works perfect.
Ok thanks. I'll try to find that firmware version and flash it before i continue with kernel and rom. Do you have any link to where i could find these firmware versions?

[Q] About baseband .77 - Brazil

Hi everyone,
Recently, I flashed the stock .587 firmware and made some tweaks in build.prop.
And data is not working now.
(even without tweaks data wasnt working)
Never faced this problem before (except for some custom roms)
I'm on baseband .77 and before flash stock ROM I was on .72
Started to think that baseband .77 IS NOT avaliable in Brazil.
Is this true? Do I need to flash .72 again?
The device is ST15
Already searched but didnt found anything about it.
Thank you...
try to flash stock rom again, in ftf file format using flashtool, not a flashable cwm rom.
