[Q] Bootloop - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I'm on stock rom. But because of flashing a wrong zip (with aosp camera) my phone got into a bootloop. The first time it boots it go's to homescreen right before I have to press my pin. The second boot it doesn't go further than samsung logo. I tried reflashing stock ROM without wipe. Still got the bootloop after that. Is there a way to solve this problem? If not, is there a way to backup my sms and whatsapp in recovery?
Thanks in advance!

Wipe data and cache

Only way is to pull battery and enter android recovery to wipe data.
Hope this helps!

Phone startup failed

Hi everyone !
As a new Android user, I'm in a need of help... My GS3 is running Omega 8.1 (not sure of the version...) and I've tried to install the battery fix thingie but now I an't start the device anymore.. It's stuck on a screen and I can't do anything about it. Tried CWM recovery mode to restore a back up I've done before but it says it can't mount /sdcard or something like that...
Is my phone bricked ? Is there a way to rollback what I've done and save my datas ?
Thanks for your help.
Here's a screen of what I have when I start the phone :
Boot into cwm, wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, then advanced, wipe dalvik, then try restoring

Usually when upgrading to a newer version of the same rom wiping cache and dalvik cache will do and then flash the new ROM

You have it all in the OP: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1708371

Clear cache and dalvik cache and reboot, if that doesn`t help do a data factory reset and reboot.
i have done them all but the same problem still occurs

Maybe a bad flash, download the rom again and reflash it, to be safe first wipe data factory reset, cache and dalvik cache. Have you made a backup of your current rom, if so restore that and than reflash the new rom. If not ALWAYS BACKUP BEFORE FLASHING SOMETHING ELSE. Good luck mate :fingers-crossed:
Did you backup?

No restore if you wiped everything its gone .
Start from the beginning wipe phone .
Clean Slate for those that balls up the firmware .
Backup data first if phone is working .
Boot CWM recovery
Mounts and Storage
Format cache data system sd card .
Remove battery
Boot to download mode
Open Odin
Install correct stock firmware for your phone .
Root phone if required install custom rom if required by following the roms instructions .
jje
Google search for step by instructions. And follow it letter by letter

Issue in Cache wipe in Stock Recovery

Hey all
Anyone tried wiping cache in Stock recovery?
When I did , the mobile rebooted without the confirmation of cache being wiped.
Wipe data & factory reset is working fine but not wipe cache.
I am not rooted and I am on latest version.
Will anyone try and confirm if thats the case with all or is it just me?
Thanks

Same here. It says it is wiping the cache then I get Mr. Android lying on his back with front door open and a red X on it. Then it restarts. Would love to know how to do this.

I do not have that android displayed after cache wipe. The phone just restarts after cache wipe. And may I add my device is i9152 which is different from your phone. Anyway I already flashed twrp and have rooted so no wipe issue.
Cheers!.
So is there a way to know that cache has been wiped?

It's not just the stock recovery, guys. I'm experiencing the exact same thing on the latest TWRP recovery on my L600.
I have always used a app called CacheMate (free in the play store). Clears the cache without having to use recovery and tells you how many mb's have been cleared. You must be rooted to use this app.
