Please help - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

Hey all used this guide to upgrade stock jellybean,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1909819
Worked brilliantly and then got above my skill level when removing some bloatware, normally i copy the apks i remove however this time i pressed delete by mistake, now have huge issues with play store and other apps. I have deleted too many apks
Have tried installing google apks again but still no joy. Does any one know of a way i can install JB again to start afresh i did try downgrading as per the guide but that didnt actually remove the JB firmware. I feel although even with huge amounts of help from flumpster (many thanks) we arnt cracking it so a fresh install is prob best, i just hope someone knows how to.
Thanks in advance.

Help me get Sims 3 back...

Hello everyone:
I've tried everything, I've looked at the entire vibrantdump.zip, Eugene's vibrant4.zip, and the only thing I can find is the Sims launcher. I cannot find the apk for the entire game. I'm running Bionix 1.9 and it's great, but since I paid for the game when I got the phone, It'd be nice to get it back up and running. Can anyone help out? PM me if you have to, I'd really appreciate it.
Cheers =^)

Lol, I have the sims .apk but not the launcher. Search for com.ideaworks3d.thesims3.apk and you will find what you're looking for.
Thanks!!!
Thanks!!! I'll give it a shot!
Ok... I got the .apk, installed it, and it plays, but the graphics are off. Alot of it just displays as white without showing the original texture and color. Any ideas?
Just flash the stock ROM and you will have it !

I agree. Reflash using odin and make a nandroid backup before deleting apps.
Ok, thanks for the replies, everyone. I know some of the stock roms out there have the bloatware removed, so does anyone have advice on which stock rom I can use that would get my phone back to factory stock with all the bloatware and hopefully will also includes the new OTA update. If you could point me to the right thread, I'd appreciate it. I'm not sure which one is the best to use for what I want to do.
I'm on Bionix 1.9 right now. I also noticed that The Sims and the Avatar launcher were removed. I never even played the Sims, but I figured I'd try it. The only thing I could think of to retrieve it was to nandroid back to stock, back up the .apk with Astro (titanium backup wasn't seeing it for some reason), nadroid back to Bionix, and then install it. That all worked out just fine. However, there seems to be no launcher for it. An dwhen you browse to the .apk in Astor, and try to "launch" it, it gives me this error:
activity not found - com.ideaworks3d.thesims3
Does anyone have any idea how to get it working again, after flashing a custom rom that removed it along with various other pre-installed apps? Thanks in advance.
Maybe along with the apk you need the 'data_tmo/games' directory that has the data files. That may be why your game runs but without the textures and graphics.

For anyone having this same issue (had this happen when I installed Obsidian 4.2) here is the fix:
http://www.thegadgetnista.com/samsung-vibrants-sims-3-collectors-edition-on-droid/
Step 1: Download the files listed.
Step 2: Install BOTH files.
Done.

[Q] gapp failure

hello all. i did a dumb thing and used cracked apps now i get gapp failure. also ended up deleting many apps and files from my phone. i tried reading up before i signed up to post. i am running a motorola razr with jelly bean 4.1.2 the x912 and went to a website to root and so on. i ended up downloading luckypatcher and some others. since have removed or reinstalled with play store but now am getting the failure. have titanium pro and backed up the full system to one file but it was after the screw up. need guided through making other backups and wiping or fixing android. i apologize now for not have done the research the first go. of course the website i did use walked you easily through destroying my system but no help on repair.
reason i ask is i dont want to make things worse if there is such a thing. it just sounds above my knowlege to remove the file that patcher put in and make nessicary backups. also not sure if my safestrap file would cause harm.
also stated reinstalled from play store but it was just paying for the licience for apps i think i needed to keep.
installed are titanium pro, super su, and sq lite
missing clockwork mod and busybox but not sure if it is needed?
used a file to bootstrap labeled safestrap razr d4 bio 3.11
used a file to root labeled razriroot zipped.
wanting to keep android for now but want root feature to unlock wifi hot spot
looking deeper into my issues i think i have got more wrong than i know finding missing system apps and now i believe i need to start completly over or new phone.
Can the lucky patcher app remove the patches before uninstall?
solved my own problems

Come to find out there was no lucky patch on this device and errors came from OTA no being finished on device. I started my hack in the middle of transition and got myself confused when I seen .BAK files instead of .APK and when got my head right just reflashed, rooted and strapped and all seems good so far.Thank you to XDA and the endless knowledge on site. You just have to look.
Props

[Q] TwLauncher reinstall

after unininstalling some system apps twlauncher stoped working in galaxy s2 ics rooted.I cleared storage and deufault settings but nothing worked. Some files must be corrupted.Temporary installed another launcher to work with the phone. Is there any way to download stock twlauncher?
You have given the answer in your post, and still you seek the answer?
Let me make it clear - you probably uninstalled system apps that TwLauncher needs to work. I really hope you did backup of those apps, or why just not freeze them? Much easier and safer.
Have you for starters in your search for Twlauncher, searched in Google?
Even if you find TwLauncher app i don't think it will fix this problem, since the system apps will still be gone
The solution is to flash a ROM or re-flash the currnet ROM.

Maybe i give answer in my post but you didn't answer my question too......i know the problem....no i don't have a backup and i can't find the stock twlauncher app....can you help in this?i want to avoid flash.
You can't. Re-flash the rom (and let that be a lesson learned to freeze stuff rather than remove or uninstall it in future - and to make regular backups).
No one who has the stock touchwiz launcher apk?
It won't work. The file dependencies would be messed up/deleted. But if you want to try it, go download a stock rom from Samfirmware & pull the apk out yourself.

How can i pull it out?
Root phone then get root browser free from playstore and copy file to sd. Done
OP...you have been told by 2 people that it WON'T work....I think you need to trust them. You may not have uninstalled the actual TW apk, but you have uninstalled a system apk that TW depends on. Reinstalling the TW apk will not reinstall the missing system apks. All it'll do is overwrite the non functioning launcher with another non functioning launcher. You need to be able to remember with 100% accuracy what you uninstalled and focus on reinstalling just those elements.......
Be advised that you should also look for a firmware that exactly matches your current ics version, otherwise there may be differences to the extracted apks that *could* cause system conflicts. And finally, if you've been playing with ics 4.0.4, I'd advise you to forget about it entirely, and consider a full reflash with either 4.0.3 or 4.1.2......
Search 'emmc brickbug' for the why.....
Sent from my rooted, de bloated, stock JB powered S2 via PhilZ kernel and XDA developers app
I only advised how to pull it out of system  up to him what happens mate. Like you and others have said wont work
Yeah...I saw that.....might as well tell op how....as it seems he's not listening to any other advice.....

[Q] Locked/Rooted - Factory restore issue

Hey Guys,
Hopefully someone can help me out here. I have a RMAed TF201 with JB bootloader which I just rooted with the new method. I used titanium to uninstall a bunch of bloatware and pre installed ASUS stuff that I didn't want. Yesterday I decided to do a factory restore and it works but leaves out a bunch of ASUS APK's that I removed with titanium. Now I'm unable to download ANYTHING with the browser or market. I get an error with android.process.media and the only way I can install APK's is using ADB. I figured that I would try to unlock and use custom ROMS to fix this but the unlocker tool gives me the network error that everyone seems to be getting. Here are a few questions hopefully someone can help me with:
Can I put the APK's that I deleted with titanium back in the the System/App folder? (Right now it's giving me a read only error)
Is there a way to download ASUS's recent firmware and have my system restore from that?
Is there anything I can do about the unlock tool that doesn't have me sending back my tablet to have my device unlocked.
Note** I'm familiar with ADB and willing to take any risk to solve this issue.
Thanks in advance.
Mike
Would anyone be kind enough to post screen shots of what is in /System/Apps/ ? And maybe links to DL the APK's?

I've tried. Maybe i'm doing something wrong when I put it on the SD card? I left the zip file and I also unzipped it. The firmware update doesn't pop up. It looks like the provided file explorer is MIA too so I ADB install ES. I deleted alot of things tabbed with "ASUS" in Titanium, I hope i didn't really screw something up here.
Can someone please send me the basic system apps? I even think I removed the updater! Is there an APK for that? That might solve my issue.

Accidentally deleted too many system apps

Hello, Thanks for all your help so far in rooting my Padfone X Mini. It's been incredibly useful in removing extra bloat and speeding up my device. Unfortunately I went just too far and deleted an app that I needed. I'm wondering if anyone can supply me with a copy of the APK for the ASUS Splendid app. It looks like the version I was using was 1.1.0.140618. I've tried some of the other downloads I've found of newer versions and they just crash every time I try to do anything. I rather liked the reading mode, but just wasn't paying attention when I got uninstall trigger happy.
Thanks in advance!

Thanks!
Tried installing it. Even copied it to /system/apps and installed from there. No matter what I do, it always crashes when I try to enable reading mode via the drop down quick settings.

You may just be best off using one of the ROM backups and starting over. I've learned to freeze an app first with titanium and then delete if no problems arise.
Well, I ended up just wiping it, installing a fresh factory ROM (since the stripped version had it missing as well) and re-removing the system app bloatware. I did it a little more carefully this time, using TB to freeze them first to check for problems. This time I'm good to go. Several apps already installed and more than a GB left. Finally this phone is usable.
