I sit my tablet on my desk at home and work, and I was thinking today how nice it would be to have an app that allows me to configure news feeds, video sources, connects to my facebook, etc that would update automatically. That way I could leave the screen on, and look over once in awhile and just monitor what is going on in the world, my life, etc.
Does anyone know of an app that could do this and is pretty configurable?
Thanks!

I only need Twitter and Facebook ( G+ would be a bonus )
So far every application I use, regardless if it's seesmic, hootsuite or tweakdeck, does not work well.
Seesmic and Hootsuite does not have a unified wall for all tweets and status update like tweetdeck does.
Tweetdeck (and the modified "Tweakdeck") does not support full Facebook functionality. Sometimes I would be missing notification for certain tweets or post as well.
Seesmic does not allow one to view who has "liked" your post.
It is issues like this that annoys me since at times I cannot respond to friends or other people. Every app has to lack something. I cannot find an app does function like Facebook + Twitter. Somebody SIMPLY has to take out certain features.
I'm hoping for someone on XDA to prove me wrong. Any suggestions for a better social networking application?
I hope I'm just being really dumb here, but I can't work out how to view friends' albums on Facebook on my prime (using the official app).
When I browse a profile on my phone using the same app, I get the - About - Friends - Photos - Likes thumbnails, but not on my Prime.
Anyone else noticed this?
facebook seems to update like every three days, honestly your better off making a shortcut in your web browser and using their mobile site, its touch oriented and works better than any app i have used. You can also get your notifications from facebook going to your email so you can get notifications when people message you or whatever in email instead of in the notification bar and it still takes you directly to the content.
Sure its an extra button press but thats what works well for me. YMMV.
Was kind of expecting a 'use the browser' response, which is fair enough I guess.
Just wondered why the feature was removed or if it's just hidden somewhere.
I prefer using apps to browsers.
Alright, I know asking for app suggestions isn't looked highly upon, but I've spent literally hours over several days trying to find apps that will do what I'm wanting. I got two Xooms for my grandparents for Christmas so my family can keep up a little better. I want to give them an easy way to see pictures that members of my family upload. My sister largely uses Facebook, I use both Facebook and Google+, and my parents use Google+. Most apps only show your own albums (especially when it comes to G+/Picasa). My grandparents obviously don't have their own albums - they'll want to see our pictures. I need an app that meets the following:
Tablet compatible
Ability to integrate Facebook and Google+ albums in one place
Ability to browse friends' albums on both services, not just your own albums
Bonus points for notifications
Bonus points for free/ad-free
I'm also looking for a good weather app. I swear, I've tried them all. I'm looking for:
Tablet compatible
Temperature in notification bar
Some sort of widget
Show detailed 7- or 10-day forecast
Show radar (they live in Florida . . . )
Bonus points for free/ad-free
So . . . suggestions?
Hi,
I've always used Hangouts for video chat with my family abroad. The main reason being I like how I can use my phone or desktop computer to do the video chat. But, as you know, Google has been going haywire with various messaging apps, such as allo duo, etc., and hangouts is going away. I'm just wondering what everyone is using for video chat, especially if you are using something that can also be used on a Windows desktop computer. Please share.
Skype can do both phone and desktop. I don't use it often though.
Google Duo seems pretty decent. It works on Android, iOS and there's a web app available which you can use if you want to use a computer. I've only tried it from my phone a few times and it seemed to work well.
While I'm working, I keep my device on a charging stand and let it display pictures etc. I'd like to instead stream my Twitter feed. Does anyone know of a app that will continually scroll the feed as new tweets arrive? I don't want to have to touch it to refresh it. I've tried the original twitter app and a 3rd party one called Talon so far and neither can do that.
Thanks in advance,
Steve
