What does your carrier say? Usually HTC works in conjunction with them.
Ruby running CM 1O - using XDA Developer app
Never most carriers in Asia don't give a rats ass about updates not really HTC fault. But easy way around it just download the ics ruu file for your carrier rename it ph85img.zip go to bootloader and it will flash it automatically if your bootloader is locked

Also there is no "Asian" version of the amaze its most likely one from a Canadian or U.S or Europe that has been sim unlocked to work on carriers in Asia. The phone itself will show the carrier label on it (like t-mobile) and that is the ruu you have to flash for that carrier (no Asian carrier ruu)

Incorrect on all accounts. There is an Asian model of the Amaze. He can't just flash a stock RUU. He has to S-Off and SuperCID to flash any of our RUUs.
Well only on the account of Asian version then and I bought my amaze in Pakistan and it wasn't s-off only sim unlocked and I was able to flash t-mobile ruu (as the phone had t-mobile written on it that's how I knew) Secondly I don't recall any Asian ics ruu in the amaze bible thread hence that points to the fact that Asian carriers don't give a crap about updating and one would have to upgrade via other means. I know you are a developer but saying that I am wrong on all accounts... Is a bit harsh the op asked if he was going to get an update and I said no and he would have to do it manually (by whatever means necessary that is besides the point being asked) I wasn't informed there is a pure Asian version since I bought mine brand new in a sealed box but it had t-mobile logo on it in Asia (Pakistan). Thus dismissing my beneficial post like that was completely unnecessary. Good day

Oh and I also checked all the ruu just to make sure my post wasn't coming out of my ass and there is no ruu for "Asian" version at least on xda. Again had the op confirmed his was "unbranded" version then I would have told him the exact same thing you told him "Asian" version seems to be the "unbranded" version of amaze from the searches i did so maybe you were technically incorrect as well but hey why call someone out on a technicality eh? My Canadian phone doesn't have carrier label silk screened on the case, assume most others don't either.
Ruby running CM 1O - using XDA Developer app
Does that mean the op could possibly have a Canadian phone? See how can you tell the difference then or you are using an unbranded sim unlocked phone as well? I figure if it is unbranded people are labeling it "Asian" which is quite a misnomer then hence the confusion that I was trying to address to the op in the first place. Most of these phones are shipped "reconditioned" in cell phone markets of Asia (at least the South East Asia) and they can come from anywhere. I tried asking the op if there was a carrier label on the phone because "Asian" is just too vague.

Lol, ur silly. I would have responded the same way hasoon did. Why? Because you responded to someone stating facts like you knew what you were talking about, when really all you were doing was giving out misleading information.
And to answer your question of how you would know if the phone was Asia version, Canada, etc... You just need to pull the CID from the phone, then u can figure it out

There's also a World Wide Version
Oh yes, there is an Asian version, there's even a world wide version of the amaze, mine.
I bought it from New York, the store people told me this is directly from HTC with no carrier involved, it is unbranded and sim unlocked too, looking at the cid I get this: HTC__044, which means HTC-Asia-SEA-WWE, so I guess they were honest.
The nice thing about it is that the system.img is only 580MB while T-Mobile-USA is 900MB, no bloatware whatsoever. I can upload it or any other partition image if anyone wants. However, trying to do s-off I damaged the boot partition, then I tried a failed attempt to install Energy rom while s-on, so I don't know what is intact in my phone other than the system.img since I backed it up before I did anything.
The only htc amaze with sim unlocked, is there any planned update for ics.
2nd is it ok to have it or to replace with t-mobile..etc

You should be able to reformat the boot partition from 4ext recovery.
EDIT: I find it interesting that the "WWE" asian version is not listed on the HTC website, although maybe the copy of the site I'm accessing is somehow filtering results for my US location.

Yes you can you need the unlock code which you can get by using connect bot from the market. It'll be a 6 digit code not sure what to type in to generate code but was able to unlock my nexus s to a foreign carrier. Look online sure you'll find out what you can do.

"Getprop rilmsl" is what I type or try rilmsl and it'll be a 6 digit code. Look for ril.msl ans 6 numbers and the six numbers are the code.

Yes you can the bad ESN only applies to the Verizon network, so it can be activated on any other network in the world, even other CDMA networks (if you can get the CDMA operator to activate it for you on their network)

Would it be possible to flash a stock (original from HTC - for example the 32gb unlocked rom) on a At&t HTC One without rooting?
My company uses Good Enterprise and it won't work on a rooted phone so I'm debating on getting the At&t HTC One (I'm up for an update and can get it for 199) or just get the unlocked version from HTC?
At&t takes FOREVER with updates and I just don't want to deal with that again (possibly wait 5-6 months before At&t releases 4.2.2)
You probably are better off with the international version if you can afford it

You could unlock the bootloader, flash a recovery such as TWRP, flash the Rom of your choice, and unroot it. Unrooting a Rom is easy.

I just want to conform that you have had success in replacing rom with a genuine HTC stick international version on a AT&T htc one? What did you need to do to achieve this if you don't mind sharing. so this is a link to the stock OEM rom which is not rooted. what do i have to do to replace my at&t rom with this? also in the future, how would i go about installing the updates?
again, at the end of the day, Good Enterprises does a quick check to make sure the phone is not rooted, so no matter what i do, the phone cannot be rooted. if i have to root, flash something which results in the phone going back to non-rooted, that's fine, i just want to understand what's needed before i get started
edit:
can't i flash the stock rom which would have come on the unlocked htc one if i had just gotten that instead?

No clue which bands do what on T-Mobile, but yeah I've seen it switch from 2g, to 3g, to HSPA+, and to LTE so I'm assuming I maintained all bands. I did however have to flash the T-Mobile radio after converting to the developer edition to be able to pick up LTE.

Im assuming you mean LTE for T-Mobile...right? Also you did this so you can get OTAs from HTC? Besides that, what other advantages are there?
Yeah T-Mobile LTE. There are no other reasons besides no longer having to wait on T-Mobile to approve updates. If it's taking HTC this long to officially release 4.2.2, imagine how long it'll take carriers to do all their testing of the finalized OTA once it's sent to them. I'd like to believe T-Mobile has been testing 4.2.2 for several weeks though. I don't know what the hold up is on the HTC side.

AFAIK there wont be a option to change as sense 5 overwrites 4+
Using a HTC One X+ with CID__001 and no update yet, but I guess it will roll out in the next couple of days.
Got report from a friend with e HOX that the update messed up the camera (force close), any problems in our case so far?
Will this update be service provider related ? In other words, will it be longer to come out as i am with O2 ? As i presume, they want to add their spam to it.
Thanks

Thanks, i thought so, could take a couple of months then really, remember my HTC ONE XL took at least 2 months the get the update from O2
Think i will stick with the rooted version for now then.
My phone was bought unbranded SIM free.
Hopefully this update happens soon.

you wont be able to do the OTA with root IIRC you need to go back to stock locked to do it

Or weeks. Possibly into months. This is based on bitter experience with a UK HOX.
And so my HOX+, I consciously bought non-UK -- and now my CID_044 is not updated almost two weeks after the rollout started. *sigh*

Update ran all the way through. Phone seems a lot smoother now. Dont know if its just a placebo effect though.

Sorry to say, with the update comes in size of 1.3GB, I'm pretty sure AT&T put restrictions on it like many other new phones recently. Based on my experience with Samsung Galaxy Alpha updates, such restrictions include:
* must have an active AT&T SIM in the phone.
* must be on AT&T network in US.
But unlike Samsung, you can wait for HTC to post the new ROM RUU files on its US site to update manually.

Lost Root
It appears that I have lost root and twrp bootloader, and so far I have not been able to reinstall.
i thought i could get the download w/o a SIM card.... NOT! Anyway, as soon as I swapped SIMs from one M9 to the other, it showed a 1.3gb download happenin..... sweet BTW - I don't use AT&T directly, though my service (CricketWireless) is an AT&T "reseller". The HTC website shows "AT&T/Cricket" for ROM downloads, so I'm not entirely sure of the relationship between the two. I have 100mb broadband cable that I am using and this thing is just a little over 50% after almost 4 hrs.
Cricket wireless is 100% owned by AT&T.

Thank you so much. I kept trying and trying to grab the update with no success until I put the SIM in the phone and finally after changing the dates manually because of it saying 3-4 times there was no update it finally started to update lol. Currently updating now as I type
Anyone grab the zip file? If so. Can you post here? It's huge.
