Bump. We really need help. It's too nice a device not to have root for future device owners

Another shamless bump, Root is badly needed for many users like myself..

Duplicate thread.

Anybody?

A new downgrade method was discovered recently over in the EVO LTE thread. Maybe look into that and try it for your device.

You have to be unlocked through htc dev first. Sucks

I would gladly spend my time to help with getting this phone rooted as I have one myself and would love to have it rooted. However, I have no idea where to begin with attempting to root a phone. If anyone has a decent resource that could help point me in the right direction of getting started please send it my way. If not I'll search the internet to see if I can come up with something to help get me started. I'll do what I can to help us out but no promises on anything.

Try this?
Has anyone tried this?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886460
When I saw all the complicated steps to root my sister's One X on 1.85, a quick Google search brought me to this, and it was quick, easy, and did the job. She doesn't have 2.20, so I have nothing to test it out on, but I'd like to think that it works on 2.20 as well.
Anyone care to try it?

Don't do it! Reconsider! Read some litera...ture...on the subject!
Sorry, from a song, but still. Not worth it, especially if you're planning on getting the white Note again?

Got a HTC One X coming from my Galaxy S2 the day they came out for AT&T. Took it back a week later and picked up the Note because I just wasn't quite satisfied with the HTC ... never looked back - much much happier with the Note over the One X.
(I know they are not the same phone, but most would agree the One X is better than the One S)

General lack of interest and need.
Last I heard zarboz was working on it.
Not as easy as it sounds
Slithered from my HTC One X+
Aside from the battery usage being a major con, I can not think of a single app that would benefit from this. Any app I have seen stall is usually because it is either poorly optimized on all phones or is specifically optimized for other processors like qualcom

I think its nice just to have the option to do it in general. Just to see how it would make this device perform

[Q] ndsdroid performance?

Have any of you ran ndsdroid on the htc one? How's the performance, is it realtime? It struggles so badly on my galaxy skyrocket.
I am deciding between the htc one and the k900 which has an atom cpu.
Thanks

i guess it doesn't matter, i saw the htc one for 130$ on amazon and snagged it. Will answer my own question in a few days.
Also the time between bumps is huge.

still very slow
came from a 2 year old galaxy skyrocket
Slow on everything. Nexus 7, skyrocket, HTC one. Even on laptops. Most likely cuz the games are all made for the ds.

Those with dead pixels

Just curious if you are gonna keep your device or not. I personally have been though at least 5 HTC one's all with dead pixels. Don't know if I should just go with a nexus device instead of trying to get the perfect HTC one.

You will find a perfect one. Go to a store, test them before you leave. Or just send it in to HTC they said the would fix them.

Will the AT&T stores usually let you install a Pixel test app prior to purchasing?

Just say you have been through *blank* amount of units and they all have dead pixels and you want to get this phone but don't dont ant it to have dead pixels. I don't see them giving you a hard time. Or if they give you a hard time just get it and test it there and turn around and get them to change it.

Well I returned my silver one and got a black one because I know they arrived today. Everything looks good though ran pixel test really quick and didn't notice anything. I didn't sit there trying to look for one though, maybe I'll just leave it at that.

It's my experience with AT&T that you don't even get to touch the device until you swipe your card, but could be different depending on where you live

its upto you which one you like, I would personally prefer HTC one, but again there are several pros & cons of each, before buying a HTC just get one thing straight, this company has a bad reputation when it comes to software updates, HTC always stop providing support to their handsets before expected, for eg. HTC one s was recently ditched, many others back in history were treated just same way, ...
one more thing, I was in a mobile store the other day checking several devices, I found neither of S4 or One as attractive as they are presented over internet, there was only handset which caught my eye-HTC butterfly, real piece of beauty, & upcoming Butterfly S looks even more deadly, so I would suggest you to go to store yourself & check them personally rather than buying online...
Lol, this is the Desire X forum, who cares.

your better off asking this and looking in the appropriate ONE or S4 forum
I would definitely go for the galaxy s4, if I needed to decide between those two. Personally, I would prefer a current flagship phone from Sony.

HTC One +1
Its better than S4. Just look at the benchmark tests. (not the 8core version, anyway who need 8core, my laptop has 4)

S4 any day. HTC just sucks. Although the HTC One is very good looking and has a good build quality, I'd say the S4 if you plan on using the phone for more then 1 year.
THX guys for all of your valuable suggestions.
