I have got my Samsung Galaxy S3 since last thursday. Before I got the HTC Desire HD and I setup my galaxy S3 using the same account as on my Desire HD. Since the setup I regularly get errors like:
"Connection error ([email protected])" (I get it in Dutch so maybe the syntax is not correct)
This e-mailaddress is hosted suing Google Apps. I have checked all the settings provided by Google and everything seems to be correct. I have read that it could have something to do with the Gmail system app which is provided with the phone and that's why it can't be removed. I would like to use the normal e-mail app instead of the Gmail app because I have more e-mailaddresses on this phone.
Does anyone have an idea how I can fix the problem and set it up the right way so my e-mail is synced correctly?

Hi mate, I'm having exact same problem, but mine worked since day one and stopped working a few days ago..

Sorry to say, I haven't. I have send an e-mail to Samsung Netherlands, but haven't got any response yet.

I believe you are correct since the same thing happened to me after flashing the same rom.
I got a similar email when I flashed KaosFroyo on last summer, so I do believe it's something to do with syncing the phone with Google.
I never got that one...
Same here... Got it after flashing the first time... I was surprised
I think its because the CM7 rom shed used for his rom was ported over to Eris from a nexus s.

New user to Android/SGS2, enjoying the phone very much but one persistent problem I have been experiencing:
I am trying to logon to Windows Live Messenger through either Social Hub / IM app. When I try to add the account, the error "Error Occurred" keeps popping up but gives no details. Does anyone know how to work around it?? I've been searching for a solution but really couldn't find anything...
If I've posted this in the wrong section or if someone has already asked the question on here, I apologize.

I did set up the samsung account...
Although I never got any communication on activation from samsung for activating the account but I have the account on the phone.
In order for the IM and push email feature to work, you need to have an active Samsung Social Hub accout. I found out the hard way after having done a hard reset.
First, what country are you're at? I'm in the USA on at&t, if you are in the USA (bad news):
In the USA, samsung social hub is not supported, so I had to download a 3rd party app called "enabler codes" and it changed the market app world region to fool my Galaxy SII to think I was in Australia, and the samsung social hub feature did finally work "perfectly", until I found out my market app would not download any (none) US compatible app as simple as paypal, eBay, Soundhound and so on...so I had to end up doing a hard reset to restore.
I used MarketEnabler (must be rooted) to switch to AU (Telstra) to set up my google chat account. I have since switched back to my original Market and the ability to create other accounts is still there.
FYI Also, running on the AT&T network.

I'm having the exact same problem in Canada using an unlocked phone from the UK. I called samsung's social hub here in Canada and all the said was do a factory reset, which I don't advise as it made no difference. I tried making a social hub account online and I get another error message saying my IMEI can't be used. Anyone have other suggestions? Perhaps I may to resort to rooting and follow the method outlined previously.

I had a horrible experience in which I switched to the same Australian market and could not go back to my US at&t settings. Last time I had to do a hard reset b/c for some reason my market place was not showing no USA apps at all, simple apps like paypal, fb, eBay and so on...
In the end I had to do a hard reset. and I'm back to step one.
Will give it another shot today.

1. Download MarketEnabler
2. Back up your original settings...
3. Switch to Telestra (AU)
4. Input your IM settings.
5. Restore your original regional settings.
All is working great!

i've a question about the succesfully login into youtube. i've flashed a few days ago the Omega v5.2 Black Blue and i'm really happy with this rom. so, i think it's just a good moment to say thanks to the developers and involved people.
well, my problem is to get access into my youtube account. i always receive a failing message, that my email isn't linked with a youtube account. this isn't true. the account is linked to 100% with my hotmail acc, and this one with gmail, too.
so, i don't understand what i can do, to log in succesfully to my acc.
i hope i'll receive help, cause i don't will be able to resolve this problem alone

Had the same problem, there was a update to the youtube app just a few days ago which fixed this problem. Check to make sure you have the up to date version and it should work.

well, thanks for your help this was the "half" solution.^^
with v3.5.5 downloaded from play store, finally it works with the succesfully login and linked account.
my phone works actually with omega v5.2, and there in the omega files kitchen is a moded youtube apk, which got a download option. this one doesn't works. its v2.1.6.
but, well, i'll use both for the moment, until the bug is fixed.

I don't know where else to post this, since there is no official clockworkmod forum or anything like that.
basically I purchased a 1-year-subscription of DeskSMS (via Google Play in-app-purchase).....but only a few months later, it just stopped working.
It says "0 days remaining" - even though I should have 8+ months left
I have already sent the developer 2 emails (once trough the Google Checkout customer complaint interface), but he just flat out ignores all of my emails....
I've already tried uninstalling the app and deleting data (and even restoring an old version of the app with titanium)
but nothing seems to work....
...it seems like there is some sort of issue with the CWM licensing server for DeskSMS
is there anything I can do? it's borderline scam, that the developer just refuses to answer any of my mails

I've always been able to contact the dev. I'm pretty sure it is @koush as in chase him up via twitter or google plus. He's always been helpful to me.

this is outrageous!
Before I start- all details about the ROM im using, kernel etc are listed on my signature.
So the problem is- for the past few hours on my s3 I haven't been able to access playstore and Gmail is not syncing either. On my s3's account settings, it shows sync error on my google account.
The strange thing is: On my laptop browsers (chrome/firefox), I cannot access playstore either, but I can access Gmail
I tried a full wipe/factory reset and reflashed g-apps. I'm tempted to flash another rom but I'm not sure whether that'll solve anything.
Can anyone help me please? I'm totally lost- no idea what's causing this issue :/
Nevermind. Reconnected my internet modem and now its fine again.

I removed my google account from my accounts and sync menu which obviously deleted all my contacts as well. When i tried to add the google account again it seems not to work. the bar just keeps moving for eva n eva widout responding. hence i cannot access my play store youtube channel or anything else related.
I even updated to omega jelly beans ROM but have the same problem. other accounts like facebook sync fine.

Yea I'm back to the same problem as you again. It was working fine for a day after I reconnected my internet- but now google suddenly stopped syncing on my phone- can't get new emails and can't access gplay either. By the way- do you live in a place where they recently banned YouTube due to that anti-muslim video? I'm in Bangladesh- and YouTube has been banned here for over a week now- and hence in some messed-up freaky way this is conflicting with other Google services like play and gmail I still don't understand it- but there's nothing I could do but to wait till the ban is uplifted. I could now access gmail and gplay on my pc - but they load very slowly- and gmail always show a ''connection failed'' error after a while- but thankfully gives me some time to quickly read my emails. This sucks indeed I wasn't really bothered when I learnt they're banning YouTube in my place- but just cannot deal without gmail and play on my phone!!
Is Youtube banned in your country? If so this is the same issue that many others are facing! Please confirm!!!

I am facing similar trouble...i do not know whether to cuss my isp or the country but nothing on my android phone is working properly...the calender is blank...gmail has been syncin for a long time and i am sure its not working....contacts are not syncing...so its blank...
yes YOUTUBE has been banned in my country...

I don't know whether there's a work around but I'll be glad to know if there's one!! Can't blame either country or ISP though. Extremism, ethics, silly politics are to blame.
