Hello.I flashed a firmware using odin because I was having wifi problems(I'm not having this problem anymore). Some days later I realized that I couldn't upgrade my S2 via kies. When my device is connected to kies I see a message "Your device does not support software upgrading via kies".
How can I solve this problem.I would like to upgrade to official Jelly Bean when it comes out.

thats because the firmware u have installed doesn't have the correct 'CSC Code (Consumer Specific Country Code) of ur region in it
do please find some third party app in store, that can change the CSC code for u, and then try with 'KIES' it will wrk
PS- changing CSC will wipe all ur data, hence do make a BKP before proceeding

IMO updating via kies was more complicated, taking much time & pc resources than Odin3 1.85 as latest stocks ROM should be downloadable at sammobile or samsung-updates.com

You might try to uninstall KIES, reboot PC, and the reinstall KIES again.
Sometimes it behaves weird because it's crappy stuff IMHO :cyclops:
I have already done that but it still says the same thing

CSC must be seen by Kies. Check what version it see in () at the and of the line with current firmware version information.
If it is (XXX) than it is unknown. U must know that current firmware must match to any stock firmware 'composition' (correct PDA, CSC and PHONE). You also must have stock kernel installed.

After reading a lot I am still looking for an answer !
I'm running JB stock rom on my SGSIII (btu) , the official polish one , downloaded
from sammobile. I can still connect to KIES, but it tells me; your device doesn't support software upgrades via KIES.
What can I do to change this ????

It's because it's from Sammobile, not from Kies. If you would have flashed it via Kies, it would still say your device supports (etc. ...)
I think ur phone is rooted n your device status is modified. Now you will Samsung has changed update checks. No modified devices will be able to get update.

That's just the thing. It WAS rooted and it doesn't say it's modified (anymore).

Cut and Paste Kies no update .
Rom is not for your phone .You now present Kies with wrong phone and firmware codes .
Wipe phone and reinstall your original saved firmware .Or download it from CHECKFUS .

XDA route to firmware updates is better than your Samsung method .
Download firmware via CHECKFUS and flash via ODIN .

I have rooted my galaxy s3..so how will i get the upgrade to jb when samsung make it available ..does i will get it normally by downloading from software update in phone..or i have to do that manually using cable and other computer programe....
Another question..how can i completly unroot my phone..and back it as i bought?!!
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
If you've rooted your phone, and installed CWM....just go installed custom JB ROM
If your region doesn't have JB provided yet, you will not get it officially....
That's not purpose of having root on your phone

Flash a stock firmware from sammobile.com using ODIN.
This will also unroot your phone.
If you have the option to update your phone, and I think you have, just click to check your software version, do it over wifi, so I've done to me, you'll have official jb, un rooted.
So..that will earase all data?!! Or it will keep it..apps and all thing
And link plz for the last firmware in egypt..i have found 4.1.1 for egypt on sammobile..but csn't download it..is that one ok?!and link for it plz

I rooted my stock 4.0.4 and then OTA updates wouldn't function at all. I've found that updating through Kies via USB cable overrides this. I couldn't try this with my own phone as I already flashed a stock JB rom, but tried it with my mom's and worked perfectly well.
U have upgrade roored ics to jb via kies with out flash stock one first?"!!

Hello, please, is it possible to download another country's official firmware from Sammobile and install on my Galaxy SII? Will I also be able to get official updates (like jelly bean 4.1.2) and install them in my country whenever updates are available in that country since i'm using that country's firmware?
I am still stocked with Android 2.3.5 and I really need to upgrade it to Android 4.0.4.
If it is possible to do so, please recommend a country from sammobile.com that I should download and install the firmware (preferably android 4.0.4) to my Galaxy SII. Thanks a lot.

try Kies for an update. Almost all countries have been upgraded to 4.0.3. and please don't install 4.0.4 it has got a super brickbug.
First of all, I really appreciate your quick response and advice.
When I used to try and update via Kies it tells me I'm using the latest update + I live in Nigeria and the latest update for Galaxy SII in Nigeria on Sammobile is android 2.3.5.
I recently upgraded my phone to the unofficial Galaxy SII's jelly bean, after I noticed a few irritating bugs, I decided to switch back to my stock 2.3.5. But there is one problem though, the baseband version is still I9100XXLS6 (the unofficial jelly bean baseband version), therefore, my Kies application cannot recognise it, it always says " Your device's current firmware version is not supported to update firmware via Kies" when I connect it to Kies. How can I change it back to the original baseband version to be able to use Kies?
There are pictures to confirm this. Thanks

those few irritating bugs have been fixed by different developers, you can try a rom based on XXLSJ, which have these bugs fixed. Or you can even try Siyah Kernel v6 http://www.gokhanmoral.com/
How did you reverted back to Gingerbread. The correct is, Flash Official firmware download from www.sammobile.com with ODIN.
I reverted back to gingerbread using the backup I made previously before updating to the unofficial jelly bean. The backup still has the correct baseband, but I don't know why the unofficial jelly bean baseband version is still here. Do you think downloading and installing that from Sammobile will solve the baseband version issue? Thanks

yes, flashing with ODIN will fix it, but it will wipe your current OS. Or else just flash your pervious modem with ODIN or through CWM.
Ok. Is it advisable to download another country's firmware? For instance one of India's Android 4.0.3 since you said 4.0.4 has issues that might cause break. Thanks

yes you can install 4.0.3 from any country. Just change the CSC with https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.manniakk.cscselector&hl=en

Hi, I downloaded the official Android 2.3.5 (I9100XWKJ1_I9100OJVKJ1_I9100XXKI4_HOME.tar.md5 and SS_DL.dll) from Sammobile. It's quite different from the usual CODE, CSC and MODEM files from other firmwares. Please, how can i install this on my Galaxy SII using Odin? NB: I downloaded that of Nigeria. Thanks
