Desire C Rom for DEV - Legend Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello Guys,
I Found this on XDA Android Developer...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1812583
Good luck for DEV Users I can't port this because I have no idea

It's not a Desire C ROM port for another device, only for the DC. This is useless to Legend devs.
And even if it was usable, we still haven't fixed outstanding bugs in Sense Gingerbread, and Sense Zero. How on earth could we benefit from a bootable Sense 4 port? It'd be more of a burden than a blessing.

No way to use cm9 as base and port sense and other apk's from desire c to this cm9 rom?
Sent from my HTC Legend using xda app-developers app

If that was possible (it is I think with the way more open and popular devices), then we would have had hybrid stock Sense roms, and Sense apps and widgets outside of Rosie a long, long, long, LONG, time ago. Like 2010 long time ago.

Sense HD?

Hi
I am only getting this phone because it is the best specification phone I haven't tried the touch Whizzo but HTC make the best software but not phones unfortunately
So I am asking will any1 be able to port sense HD?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Well I've made a Sense theme for CM7, so as soon as the Galaxy S2 gets CM7, which I'm sure will happen fast, you can use the theme on it... far easier than porting a sense rom. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=11660869
edit: then again, you still won't have sense app enhancements and stuff, but something is better than nothing right?
why does everyone want this.. the phne is not even out yet.. if you really want sense go buy a htc phone ad quit whinning.
thanks for the theme,
and yeah i do have a htc phone but this samsung galaxy s 2 has the best specs than any htc phone so this phone combined with htc sense will be a beast!
Does any one think this can happen?

Sense is overrated.
Yes you should be able to use HTCs Sence UI because Exynos is using NEON whereas Tegra2 doesnt.
Depends which 1 phones 4 u supplies because there are to versions

Yeah but the widget are amazing

Sense is nearly as bad as TouchWiz. AOSP should be (and will be) the goal.

Meh, I was never too fond of Sense. Using my friend's Inspire for a few minutes though, I found that it was nicer than all of the other stock launchers.
I didn't like not being able to edit the total number of screens though.
I too, am interested in this. It gives people options so why not port Sense over? I want to see whether they can port all those cool features over like flipping their phone over to silence a call or ringing louder in a bag.
What about sense 3.0 the sgs2 with the new sense will be amazing

No please not the disney version of sense.
Don't get me wrong, but those colors on the sensation....brrrr..... welcome to disney.
I would really love to see a Sense port but it will be very hard to port it... the only successful ports are for devices with identical specs - example Sense from Desire on Nexus One...
There was a port for the Galaxy S but it had too much things that don't work and were very hard to solve (as Sense and drivers are not open source)...
Loved sense on windows mobile especially combined with the white GTX theme on my hd2,
but can't say I'm a big fan of it on android. Weird, I know, or maybe not so weird,
since I like a minimal clean look better, not screens cluttered with widgets.
Am tied in between in getting a sensation or sgs2 hardware wise galaxy s 2 wins but HTC sense is far better than touch wiz that's why we need a port

I'd like to see a sense port. However only for the sake of having a bigger variety of roms to flash.
I found that when I had my Inspire that Sense was way to bloated for me. I gave it a fair shot but for now I prefer TW over Sense. But AOSP > Any carrier software.
I would just stick with TouchWiz or go for AOSP if possible. Sense looks cool and all, but a port is as easy as it seems. More so, theming will be the solution for time being.

[REQ] Screen rotation animations from GingerBlur

The new gingerbread update for the atrix has the iOS rotation animations so i was wondering if someone could port it to one of the ROMs for the MyTouch 4g if you dont know what im talking about watch this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-YvFED3hbBg&feature=player_detailpage#t=57s its near the ending he shows the rotation animations
I would personally like this for MIUI but if you can get it working in another rom ill use that too
I always like this mod. Hope a dev can dot this.

That would be really cool if they could.
I support this request as well. Would be awesome
I'll second that (or is it fifth?). I would love to see Team Royal include this in their ROMs.
Lets keep this thread alive guys hopefully some dev will see it and implement it on one of their roms
I've been wanting this since I had my G1 lol..

Do you think it would be easier to port the rotation animations from the HTC Flyer?
I think it would be easy to port HTC flyer's animations to Virtuous Unity (my current rom now) but i have no idea on how to port so maybe some dev can do it
Nothing on this yet? I'm eagerly wating for this to be done so that we, HD2 users, can rip it off
I'd love to see this ported, even on not my device .
I think if we bring this to a developers attention one of them will make it work so lets advertise this on other threads lol
This is something I have wanted since it disappeared from my Htc Hero when I jumped to Froyo.
I have been trying to add this to a ROM for about two months now with no success. I am now using a Desire HD and am trying to take the orientation animation from BeatMod Flyersense.
I am no dev, merely a noob jumping in the deep end.
If I have any success I will report back here.
The biggest issue I see with porting this is that the animation in this particular ROM was added by Htc. In all likelihood this will be associated with Htc Sense and not core android.
If anyone knows of another ROM with a rotation animation please let me know (preferably by another manufacturer, ideally not added by a manufacturer) I would like to compare the res/anim files to see what can be done.
i wouldn't mind the mod on sense 3.0 or mysense for the mytouch as long as its there ill use the rom lol
That looks pretty cool
Imma try this n c

Porting from different companies is very difficult to do, chances are many hardware parts and the radios will not function correctly at all. That's why it's best to only port from devices within the same company. There's a droid port with blur by raffy on his site. Think it's android maisters .
Jaywan was working on one and so was Team Royal, but haven't heard anything new about Royal"s Blur. But Raffy 's Blur rom runs freaking great. I actually ran it for a few weeks till I went on vacation and needed the camera and wifi. Only two major issues are wifi and camera. However cell tower data runs fast and I only saw a slight speed decrease from not being able to use wifi. From what Suilmagic told me is that they're waiting for another Blur phone to come out and hopefully they can use the system dump from it to fix both so there isn't a time frame on when they'll have an update. But the rom is ABSOLUTELY worth checking out and running for a few days. I gotta say its runs smooth as hell. Once those two things ate fixed it'll prob be one of my daily drivers, between that and MIUI. Here's where the rom is at: http://android-maisters.net/

[Q] HTC Sense on Galaxy10.1?

Hi there, recently my dad bought a Samsung Galaxy10.1 tablet and wants me to root it. We are both owners of HTC phones (HTC Wildfire S & HTC Rezound) and have grown to like the Sense UI. he has requested that along with the root I install Sense but I dont think this is possible as Sense was not developed for a tablet.
My question is this: Is it possible to put a Sense 3.0/3.5 UI on a Samsung Galaxy10.1? If so, how is it done?
Thanks ahead of time for all responses.
I don't think that's possible yet. If it were possible it'd most likely come in the form of a rom
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA
Yeah that was kinda my thought. Does anyone no if there has been a case where Sense was put on a non-HTC device, though?
nope. not happening bro.
Anyway isn't sense in a way copyright??

Barf....
Try finding a sense like launcher.
Sent from my GT-P7510 using xda premium
Sense is:
1) Extremely difficult to port
2) Developers have little desire to do it anyway since it's incredibly bloated compared to Touchwizz (which isn't so hot either, but it sucks less than Sense) - Although actually, Touchwizz was a slight improvement on HC 3.1 - but it's a step backwards on ICS. CM9 is slick... Even with the intermittent battery life regressions I'm still running it.

As far as I know the only way to get the whole SenseUI is to get the GoLauncherEX theme Then again it's just skin replacement.

Honeycomb on Hero

I saw a honeycomb rom on legend forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1017209...so, can smb port this to hero? At this moment I can't because I'm trying to make miui for hero...I have all apps from original miui resized... so if anybody can port honey to ours heros, pm me...
Sent from my Hero using XDA
It's a SDK port, we allready have one of those, and it's terrible :/ Since the source for HC never was releasesed and it's aimed for tablets, it's useless on phones
Now I have another question...what's the different between sdk port and rom port?
Sent from my Hero using XDA
A ROM-port usually have all the functions implemented.
The SDK-ports are made for emulators, and therefore lots of stuff are missing from them
Thx for the answer

Question about porting Rom features

When I had my original evo, there were some roms that had features of another phones is. One room I flashed had landscape rosy. Would it be possible to integrate the hand scroll from the S4 into a Rom for another phone. Our could a HTC sense rom be ported to a non htc phone.
Sent from my HTCONE using xda app-developers app
Well the second one of porting a sense rom to a non htc phone is possible because it has been done with the s3 but I am not sure about the other one due to there might be things that are needed specifically for it to work properly.
