When I shake my phone or tap the top of the phone I clearly hear something rattling.
The thing that annoys me the most is that it will rattle too if the phone vibrates.
I'm not sure if it's getting worse but I do think it is worse then months ago.
Can people confirm this on their phone too?
Should I claim my warranty to get it repaired?
Also, and this is probably a really dumb question, I screwed some of the bolts a little bit tighter thinking that might help (which it didn't). That should not affect my warranty in any way, right?
The rattling sound did indeed get worse but I found that that was the power button which is a bit loose now.
Anyone any word on how it would affect my warranty?
Unless you can prove its not due to wear & tear, it's difficult to get warranty for it. Anyway, try send it back and see what they going to say to you.

Thanks for the reply but thats not really what I meant. I meant that if I should return it to the store to claim my warranty for any reason, would it mind that I fastened my screws?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
I don't think they will notice the screws.

Alright my sister got a sgs2 about 2 months ago, now I went to help her with something (because I have an sgs2 too and she's bloody unless with it), I noticed a scratch on the screen, its only small and isn't very deep but it annoys me the fact that she bought this phone and now she's bloody scratched it! Will she be able to get the screen fixed or replaced or something for free? It isn't bothering her son doubt she'll pay. Cheers.

Can you see the scratch when using the phone or just when you literally search it?
If you have to search it, then I have good news for you.
I have the same and fixed it with a screen-protector. You won't be able to see the scratch anymore.

If it's just a hairline then buy a decent screen protector and it won't show. Worked for me.

When my phone is at a 0º angle to the floor, the vibration is fine. As I turn it more towards the normal line to the floor, it begins to get very rattly if you understand what I mean.
This is really starting to bug me because it makes the vibration VERY loud and distracting. Question being; would this be covered by warranty?
In india if its physical damage(water or dropping the phone) then no
If damage is not done physically, then yes
no it wont be covered..

Why exactly?

At the end of the day it's going to be impossible for anyone here to say. We're not Samsung/whomever does their repairs.
If it really is a problem you can't live with, go back to stock, do a factory reset, reset the flash counter & send it in for warranty service (assuming you're not running stock now) and see what happens.
That's honestly all you can do. If they say it's your fault & want to charge you for it, you can argue with them I guess but the onus is on you to prove it's a manufacturing fault & didn't develop due to use of the phone (difficult). I'm not saying that stance is right or wrong here, I'm just telling you how it is.
You could always decline their offer of fixing it at your cost & have the repair done by a non-Samsung repairer which might well be cheaper, and which will probably void your warranty, which could make having it repaired under warranty problematic if you do have a problem that is covered by warranty at some stage.
Regardless, send it in & see what happens.

Your warranty does not cover physical damage. The repair center could probably tell that you dropped your phone and you'll end up having to pay for the repair.

There are 2 things that would cause what you describe:
1. the mic hole is plugged or blocked by something. Look on the bottom edge of your phone and you will see a very small hole. This is for the microphone. If there is something plugging the hole, you can use a needle or something similar to clean it out. Dont blow directly into the hole, it will just force stuff deeper into the hole towards the microphone.
2. If there is nothing blocking the hole or if it still does not work after cleaning, then the microphone is bad and needs replaced. You can take it to your carrier if you have insurance or find a cell phone repair facility near you and have them replace it.
I will try to clean and see if it works I called this mobile place but he said he don't replace them cuz its very. Hard thanks

Well I will admit that its not the easiest to replace, but any cell phone repair technician should be able to solder a new microphone on for you. If he cant do that, I wouldnt take your phone there for any type of work because it doesnt sound like he is qualified to perform some repairs.
True ill try to look for a better shop wait what you think it will be the cost to replace the mic
Sent from my HTC Mecha using xda app-developers app
Well that depends entirely on the shop, but probably in the $50-75 range.
So I Googled for shops in my area no luck its the same as other shops that its hard yo change that so I guess the only thing left is use it for 3 months how it is or get a replacement for 100$
Sent from my HTC Mecha using xda app-developers app
Well if you have a backup phone you could always use that phone and then mail-in your Thunderbolt to get it repaired at a shop that can actually do it for a reasonable price. I just did this exact repair on Monday and it worked fine, no problems at all.
Where do you live and what is the name of the shop

Hello everyone. I have been in love with my TF201 sine purchasing it 5 months ago. I have encountered no problems with the tablet at all until, yesterday my friend wanted to take a picture, upon opening the camera app, all he saw was this. Now, I know somebody here will know if this is fixable or not. I am assuming that it isn't fixable and I'm just going to have to deal with a broken rear facing camera.
I should also mention that there is no damage to my TF201 and it has certainly never been dropped. So, is this just poor build quality that would cause this?

yikes... same mine.. never yet send RMA coz im scared i cant unlock it after RMA.
if i were you (that if you are still locked), i would trade it with tf700. there are like two forums about it in here...
hope you'll find a way to fix it...
I just RMA'd mine to fix this issue...which was caused by an RMA to fix LCD mura. If you specify that you do not want them to reset the software, you shouldn't have to worry it being relocked.
That is just my experience though. I made sure to let them know not to reset the software...by stating it large bold letters in red ink on the RMA checklist

You might give this a try (found it on a google search) before you call and RMA it.
Open your camera program.
See bad green screen or something unrecognizable.
Open Options.
Change quality to 3 Mps.
Change sides to 16/9.
Turn focus to "far away" (not auto).
Press by your finger to back camera with some power for 5-7 seconds.
Move finger away.
If it's working - have a fun!
If it's not - press again.
Open Options.
Change quality and sides back for your pleasure.
When you make photos you can turn on "Auto focus", but when you turn off camera program you should change in options focus to "far away" (not auto).

Guess I'll have to try and RMA it. I hope I know enough Japanese to be able to do that d:

So, this must be a Normal issue with the TF201?
Sent from my TF201 using xda app-developers app
Same thing happened to mine.
I think it's just a software issue though. If you change to the front camera and back again it's just the previous image displayed chopped up. Normally I would just fix permissions or re-flash the ROM, but I don't really want to void the warranty by unlocking the bootloader.
I don't think its a software issue...there's a thread that tells of a temp fix....by squeezing the area by the camera.
Also, I have flashed pretty much every rom, including stock and it is still the same result, even with permissions fixed.
Edit: Here's a link

Hi5!! just happened to me too -__-;
annoyingly enough this happen to me before too -_-;
send it for an RMA for the same problem people.... sigh.........
The big question is... Will you be able to RMA it even after flashing a bunch of different ROMS. Perhaps flash stock again and send it back?
I think the REAL question is:
Will Asus let us BUY the damn camera module?
I've had a bad camera for months now because I don't want to go without my tablet for weeks for something that I know will take 15 minutes. I've seen more than enough tear downs to know it's nothing I couldn't handle, I just want to PAY them for the part.
Every few weeks I search for it as a part to buy, with no luck

Well, I've noticed with my photon the vibrator stops a lot and i have to bang the phone to make it work again, and this very annoying when my phone is on vibrate (missed texts and such) or when typing, I don't get my feedback that I really need, so i took the phone apart in hopes of simple replacement (like in my evo 3d) but it looks like it's soldered to the board, can anyone confirm this? I would rather not have to replace my entire phone just for a vibration issue :/
Sent from my MB855 using xda app-developers app
Yes, it is soldered to the circuit board. I've done similar repairs on other phones, so use a 20 watt iron and go slow. It's not very hard to replace.

Btw, when you try it, use desoldering braid to remove it. Less chance of messing up.
