Hi,
I got a new motorola Razr with Android 2.3.6. I updated it using the built-in update feature to ICS 4.0.4. Now the current software is: 672.180.41.XT910.NonEFGISRetail.en.EU. After the update the phone keeps restarting every minute and I can't even make a call. Any clues, how to fix that problem ?

I had this issue with my Razr when I first got it and I was on gingerbread. I took it for repairs and it turns out my phone was a refurnished phone so they repaired it and its fine now.
By the way which country are you from?

Hi,
I bought a new atrix with stocke rom android 2.2.1 , is there any way to have the ota update to 2.3 faster or manualy without rooting the device ?
thnx2u all
Best to just connect to wifi and wait...
Make sure you are connected to wifi. Then go to Settings->About Phone->System Update.
Posted from my rooted Motorola Atrix.
If u r using a unlocked bootloader and not with At&t then u should forget the update coz ull face network issues with the new update especially frequent phone and wifi restarts. It did when I updated and tried to flash back and got soft bricked then I tried factory reset and the phone doesn't reboots but the wifi does every 10 minutes.

I have had my Droid Incredible 2 rooted for several months now and have not had any issue. I do not have a custom ROM, just rooted to mainly use the wifi tether app, among other things.
Today, the phone shut itself down and attempted to install a software update. The update stopped after about 2 seconds and switched to the droid with the exclamation point (guessing error) and stayed there until I popped the battery out and rebooted it. Each time I boot the phone, however; it goes through this same process, so my phone is essentially useless at the moment.
I assume the upgrade is not working because of the root. If that is so, how do I go about correcting this problem.
Any input will help. Thanks!
I have installed Android 4.3 from occam image downloaded from Google to my Google Nexus 4. The phone has been rooted and set up with TWCR.
The problem is that every week or so the phone thinks there is an OTA OS update from Google: a notification icon pops up telling that an "update to Android 4.3" has been downloaded (update size 1.8M). The update "installs" in a second, boots into TWCR which offer to repairs root access (and I do), and then boots normally. There is no that "optimizing app N of M" lengthy process as with a real OS upgrade.
I confirmed that the build incremental version in /system/build.prop does not change; in fact, the build fingerprint is not changed by this "update":
Code:
ro.build.fingerprint=google/occam/mako:4.3/JWR66V/737497:user/release-keys
Why does this happen and what may I try to do to prevent this?
same issue happened yesterday with my phone

My wife's all stock Nexus 4 with Android 4.3 got an update notification today, and run an upgrade that did not change anything in the "About phone" page. Unlike mine, thought, it did the "Optimizing application X of Y" step after a reboot.
So maybe there was a systemic glitch which just coincided with my phone re-flash? This explanation would hold if I do not see any more of these "updates" coming in the next few weeks.
Hi kkm000
today I unroot my phone and flash stock recovery and then successfully installed the update.
version of the build changed from JWR66V to JWR66Y
Hi,
I've recently updated with a Australian version of the Droid RAZR XT885 ics and then the OTA upgrade to 4.1.2 stock.
and after ive rooted it and install BMM 3.2
I install a custom rom slimbean and after that my phone got stuck on the fastboot system
afterward...black screen and not boot or nothing.
and when I try to charge...the green led starts and shutdown between 5sec to 15min of delay
and no boot up available..
what do I have to do ?
I have a droid razr that was on 2.3.5 and i wanted to put the JB on it. so i got the bat utility and put the phone into fastboot, did the software on there with the wipe. Now when the phone screen is one it goes crazy, it flickers and the bottom half of the screen has like these checkered things on it. if i click the home key or the back key it will go away for a second then come back.
I have a feeling when i did the update maybe something was not compatible with the SW? maybe the radio vs the boot? or radio vs the S/W? but the bat utility installed the new radio on there. Has anyone has this issue?
another weird thing i notice is that the volume down + power key does not force a shut down, but it takes a screen shot instead. And i know its not the screen issue, because in fastboot mode, the phone does not freak out.

Have some issue on NorthEU phone (XT910). But on previous one (XT910 DE) do not have this issue. It looks like hardware issue.

You should flash 4.1.2 full fastboot package with rsd lite. It will be fine if it's software issues.
