[Q] Internal SD not installed - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I've flashed on my SANEI N90 16 GB the Cyanogenmod 10 Unofficial (Found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1821398).
All fine, but in settings>storage i see only this:
INTERNAL STORAGE
Total space: 0.98 GB
USB STORAGE
With this "Mount SD card. Insert an SD card for mounting" < NOT SELECTABLE
And my EXTERNAL SD Card that doesn't recognize from apps like camera, gallery, Rom Manager etc.
(But in Solid Explorer the External SD is recognized).
I found a tricks for the External SD Card:
- Go to edit the build.prop and go to this line "persist.sys.vold.switchexternal=0" and change the vaule to "1"
- Reboot the tablet.
Seems to work fine..
Now in Settings>storage i see:
a "second" INTERNAL STORAGE that refer to my External SD.
And SD CARD with this "Mount SD card" < SELECTABLE but if i press a notification appears and says me that the "SD is Damaged"
QUESTIONs:
There's a metod to solve all this?
Where is my internal 16 GB storage?

up

try this
type in terminal emulator
su
fdisk -l /dev/block/nand*
and find your lost partition
fix in /etc/vold.fstab
1. find sdcard ..... nand*
2. change to your partition
3. save and reboot

sd card issue

Guys,
I have taken sd card from my nokia e72 and added to samsung galaxy s2 but i am not able to see the card
my files\external card
can anyone give me description on it?
First check Settings > Storage, and check what the top most 4 lines say. Does it state anything about 'SD-card'? Can you select 'format SD-card'?
Do you have the folder 'external_sd' on your internal storage?
Do you mean you can't see it on your phone, or you can't see it on your pc? If you mean through your pc when browsing internal storage: you can't see your external sd by clicking on 'external_sd'. You have to select the other storage that's available in your browser.
Anyways, just reformat the card if nothing helped. Format it as FAT32, then your phone will recognize it.
i have formatted the microsdhc(class 4) card as FAT32 system and then inserted into mobile...
Settings\Storage does not show sd card
and also in task manager for sd card it shows 0.0 bytes
please i need help....

CM9 - emmc/external_sd issue

Upon USB connection/Mass Storage Mode only the internal memory of my device (i9001) gets detected, i.e the memory card doesn't get 'mounted' to the PC. (unlike in other non-CM9 ROMs) Does anyone here know about a way of how to mount the internal and external cards in a way other Rom do it? That means: Internal SD card = /sdcard and external SD card = /sdcard/External_SD.
At present emmc = Internal Storage(Internal SD) and sdcard = Memory Card. I tried "mount -o bind /emmc /mnt/sdcard/external_sd/" in terminal but it only maps the Memory Card temporarily to the "external_SD" directory, doesn't still get mounted when using mass storage.
Had same issue once, solved it by re-installing the driver on PC..

Try the application: RemountSD
Try App called :
"ICS SD Binder"
Was having the same issue. Been looking after a solution for hours. ICS SD Binder is really recommended! Thanks!

[Q] 2 x internal / 1x external storage (partition)

Hallo,
For a moth or so my Note runs on a Custom JB ROM.
and today i wanted to install the new TomTom app.
i requires me to download a additional 3.1 GB
but i says that theirs not enough memory available.
that's strange, i just put in a brand new 16gb SD card.
so i checked the storage info.
Internal 1,9GB
internal(second??) 11GB
SD-card 15GB
on default in installs apps on the fist Internal memory,
so if transferred i to SD.
BUT in transferred it to the Second internal memory instead of the SD-card.
so i checked the form and found out that i can change a file to mount de SD as internal,
but than i have 11GB of lost space on my phone,

How this can be done? I would sacrifice only 1.8 GB.

You NEED to have root acces,
-install "Root Explorer"
-Open en go to Root/etc
-Open "vold.fstab" (with Text Editor)
you wil see
#internal SD card
dev mount sdcard0 /storage/sdcard0 11 /devices/platform/......
#extrenal Sdcard
dev mound sdcard1 /storage/sdcard1 auto /devices/.....
#internal: if you change the name from sdcard0 to sdcard1,
#extrenal: and on the sdcard1 to sdcard0
and reboot.
now it wil see the real extrenal SD card as a Internal, and its posible to install app on the card
I don't know anything about the 2nd internal storage you have but to directly install anything in the sdcard install link2sd from this link--
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5idWFrLkxpbmsyU0QiXQ..
then go to settings and change download location to external

Thas doen't work.
the problem is that the system and all of the apps sees the second internal memory (11GB) as sdcard0 and if i transfer a app it goes to this one and not the REAL extreme SD card (sdcard1)

The sd card is mounted as a folder and its shown as a folder in internal memory (that aint a problem since if you copy anything into that folder you are copying into the sd card) , and if you are saying that only the sd card is getting mounted and being used instead of internal memory enable root access for aps and adb in settings - developer options, this will mount internal as /mnt/eMMc and if you want to change the default storage go to storage settings press settings button and change from storage configuration, and please include more information like rom type, os version and many other relevant information if you want people to help.

[Q] Hypderdrive ROM on MI1 has "Renamed" SD Card

I've installed Hyperdrive via SafeStrap today. It seems that when you create that Rom Partition, the OS seems to have been configured so that "SD Card" is actually internal device storage and in order to actually get to the External SD Card I you have to go to Root -> Storage -> ExtSDCard directory.
Also, when I plug it in to the computer, all I can see is the External SD card and this new "fake" SD Card partition in the computer. I can't even get to the Root of the phone.
The problem is things like Pictures and some applications only allow you to choose "Device" or "SD Card" for storage and no matter what you choose it's going to the same place and this virtual SD Card Partition is almost out of space!
Help!
Any help?

That's the way the Stock ROM works - /mnt/sdcard is the internal storage, /mnt/extSdCard is the external storage.
You can't mount the root because it's a Linux EXT4 filesystem. Windows doesn't understand it. Again, that's normal behavior.
My pictures, music, Ti Backup files, etc. are stored on my external SD card, so it's quite possible to do that.
