I saw and it looks amazing, anyone got a port?

This isn't the first time I've had to say this, but all of the ICS 4.0 system applications rely on the ICS framework, and porting it is pointless as the whole rom will be ported quicker. Wait for a working ROM port to be released.

I hear some one have an Amaze 4G running ICS 4.0.4, but when update from OTA, I got 4.0.3 (TMobile).
Any one know what OTA (or leaked) can I use for 4.0.4?
Another question: Can I flash an OTA from Telus or Wind on my TMobile?
Thank.

If you want to flash RUU from another carrier, you'll need to have s-off and super cid.
A quick search will lead you to those answers

Ya! Thank you.
And what RUU with stock 4.0.4? Does it exist?
No carrier got 4.0.4, they all got 4.0.3, you're sol until the guys get their 4.0.4 custom rom fully working.

Ya! Thank you. Cause I hear some person on another forum talking that they got ICS 4.0.4 Stock installed on brandnew Amaze 4G when they buys it. But when I ask them, I got no response, then I post my question here. May be they are liars :silly:

Apparently HTC is updating the amaze to 4.1, would be great if they do, you guys would love the smoothness of JB, hopefully they give you sense 4.0 as well.
I was thinking the might if anything knowing them they would give us a bs sense 3.7-3.9 but just not sense 4

I'd hate that, knowing this phone could do with the lighter version of sense, but then again, JB is pretty smooth and completely lag free, so even if you guys are stuck on sense 3.6, once you get the update at all, you'll be in heaven, trust me.
Yea I think so I'm just curious to see how they approach the update

It shouldn't be that difficult noting JB wasn't a major overhaul the way ICS was, so working with it should be simple, once they don't push too much bloat into it and slow down the system, which with the work google put in, shouldn't be affected at all.
It cant be sense 4 because sense 4 is ICS, in theory since sense 4 is ics they cant make sense 3.x jellybean because the order would be broken of versions....they might give a sense 4.1 and give one s users sense 4.5 of something along those lines

lol wut?
Anyways, several things.
1. Why the need for 4.0.4? I've looked at the change log, doesn't seem like all that much that I'd really care about
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Android_version_history#Android_4.0.x_Ice_Cream_Sandwich
Don't we have custom camera software anyways?
Damn, gotta have that smoother screen rotation....
2. Why the need for Sense 4? I've used a phone with Sense 4, and to be honest, Sense 3.6 and 4 are very similar, just 4 has a few quirks (recent apps screen, widgets in the app drawer, couple extra cloud services, what else?).
http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/45134/htc-sense-3-6-vs-sense-4
Version number envy?
3. I doubt HTC would bump the sense version if we get JB.

Yes but apparently sense versions below 4 are huge hogs, even HTC admited it was, so they made sense 4 much more lighter. And, if HTC gave us older devices ics with an slightly updated sense 3.6 instead of 4, then they might give us sense 4 while probably a new gen HTC's with a newer version of sense releases, makes SENSE to me ahhahahaha pun intended

Not gonna happen. Multiple times they've stated legacy devices that shipped pre-ICS will not get Sense 4. They want to maintain the same look & feel as when the phone shipped, so as not to upset most people. Granted, basically anyone on xda would probably rather have AOSP from the manufacturer, but the general public won't. Eg. my girlfriend has the Evo 3D and says she won't update to ICS when Sprint releases it next month because they got rid of the arc tray at the bottom on the home screen. She had a friend who has the Evo V 4G, saw what ICS would look like on her phone, and has completely ruled it out.

Do you think HTC will release JB for Amaze soon? Cause they have new flagship device like OneX, and I think they will port JB for these flagship with higher priority. Our Amaze is "old" for them. lol.
Is it possible to port it to the thunderbolt sense its very close to being ics.?

I think what he is asking is could jb sense be ported to our device. Yes it could be but I think the devs want to get ics fully functional first.

So ics sense is going to be the last sense Rom for the HTC thunderbolt.
.
is anyone else have a problem where after flashing newt's one xxx 4.0 rom, verizon mobile app wont work? everthing else works but that! i flashed back to nils business 4.0 and it works fine. i think it might be due to it is sense 4.1. can anyone else get there's to work on newt's rom?
Yes i have no issues with it on newt sense 4.0 and 4.1 works. VVM don't work on 4.1 sense.

He has a fix to the SSOengine.apk. now in RLS 5
Are we going to get sense 5? The incredible has a krait, after all, and all other S4 phones seem to be getting it.

We havent got a sense 4+ yet when HTC is supposed to deliver us that... Sense 5 I think could be a possibility, but I don't think so.... Unless a dev builds it from scratch

a similar phone to the inc4g would really need to get sense5 to port it (and of course we need jellybean of our own first)
and since sense5 no longer uses m10 files (which is what is typically resized on roms now to fit different resolutions) not sure on the sizing issues
and theres no "building from scratch" its taking an existing rom and hacking it up to work on this device

that would fall under similar phone
whether or not i bother with it will probably depend how large the inc4g community is at that point (guessing i wont be the one attempting it though)

Why do you keep saying this? Go to Settings > About and look at the version under Sense.
EDIT: OK, HTC has incredibly stupid version names.

No, he's right. Sense 4+ is the actual version name above 4.1. We've only gotten 4.1 so far. NBD anyway, Cyanogenmod is much better than any Sense ROM.
I believe the misunderstanding is that Sense 4+ is a different version other than what we have but Sense 4.x is actually what we have. If I'm wrong please correct me.
It's not a glitch this isn't Wreck it Ralph

mdmower sense goes from 2.1 to 5.0, respestive order is
2.1 2.5(2.1 on gingerbread) 3.0 3.5(GB) 4.0 4.1(ICS) 4+(jelly bean) 5.0(only HTC one for now) and I still think 4+ will eventually be rolled out but sense 5 will be a hard port since resizing is gonna be harder

Well easyish assuming we have jellybean by then
And would have to be hacked up for LTE (not a huge deal but still a hurdle)

Unfortunately, being on Verizon, we are S.O.L. I doubt we'll see 4+ or Sense 5. I doubt we will even see JellyBean before most of us are eligible for upgrades. So for those like me who aren't in to flashing customer ROMS, we probably will not see it.
well, sure it might take some time before a possible JB update from verizon arrives for us. but personally I'd be fine if that's just 4.1.2 (latest 4.1.x JB that brings us "project butter" ) ...and comes with Sense4+. Sense4.1 already slimmed down the visual effects quite a bit and from my piont of view, Sense5 is slimmed down too much, over-simplified and removes that neat lock-ring that HTC Sense is so much well known for *haha* ... i'd really hate to loose it!
