hey guys
need a little help plz.
first it was all right i used loads of custom ROMs on my phone and they all worked perfect. now also they work good but people who are trying to call me are not able to reach me easily.the call doesn't get completed only .. what could be the problem ? baseband change ? if yes then how to keep it to stock baseband ?and since yesterday am not facing any problem as i put the stock ROM ! (but i want to use cutsom ROMs )

when using Custom Rom's try changing the Baseband/Modem and see
u can dwnld them HERE and flash the same thro ur custom recovery, try a cpl of them to see the one that gives u best results.
Also dwnld 'GetRil' app from stores and try to match the 'RIL (Radio Interface Layer) with the modem

I had this same problem because I wasn't paying attention and flashed a i9100 phone with i777 ROM. Everything worked perfect except for the phone. Double check and make sure you are flashing the correct ROM for you phone.

yes u can flash the same for sure
since the baseband is related to ur phone connection with ur netwrkservice provider, which can be changed later if any issue arises

I dont knew if tis is good idea because thread of this developer was closed because he didnt gave proper credits to other developers.So i dont want to make troubles to anyone.But what could go wrong?
-I flash this rom, than if any connection problems occurs I flash modem XXLQ6 this should be OK than! Thanks for your help

When I was using ICS 4.0.4 Pakistan , when any one call me he hear "the phone you calling is switched off, try again later" and my phone in open at all time.
3 days ago, I downgrade to ICS 4.0.3 KSA till now no problem in receiving calls.
Is this problem from rom, as Modem in each rom different from country to other?
Now I want to flash Cynogonmode rom 10.1, Will I face this problem again?

it all depends on the Modem that comes along with the Firmware and will be diff for diff regions ma8
Just check the modem that u have (with ICS 4.0.3) for now which is wrk'ng fine and note it down.
After flashing CM10.1 if u face any netwrk issue then u can use that modem again(which u can find in the link HERE)

for the present Modem on ur phone goto Settings>About phone and see there the Baseband

when I searched for how to install CWM iny my phone S2G there are many ways and lot of bricked phones in issue

I wan't you to illustrate to me the perfect way to do that without risks and not increase binary count and the files I'll use in detail ....<<<phone isn't rooted>>

can any one please help me out..currently im using MIUI rom and having a problem with call drop frequently... is this is the problem with rom or modem I9100XXLPW.....if i want to revert back to stock rom and have the root..how can i do it..

change your kernel and model as well and see if the problem receedes,if the problem still persists then go to sammobile.com and download stock firmware for your device,flash it and u r on stock again!..any if u want to have root acess on your phone then you can either flash philz or siyah kernel p.s: i personally recomend philz because it will not bring upon the yellow triangle

It seems you have a modem problem. Try another modem. You can search xda for it.

The truth is, there is no ideal modem. The best one for you is only got by trying each modem out.

Hi,sorry to bother you,i've searched for this situation on wiki and of course on the internet,but I wasn't able to get a clue about it.
Here's my issue:
I've flashed my GT-S5830i with [Aroma Mod v.11] using the stock kernel in order to see SIM contacts,but i was forced to install the stock firmware from India (as suggested by the Rom developer/creator),because with italian firmware i was stuck on the GT-S5830i logo...
Now my question: Indian stock firmware Baseband Version is S5830iDDLA1 ,the italian one that I've got at Samsung drivers is different.
Should/Can I replace only the modem "firmware"?
Also this value is different XXLA2 is for Indian stock firmware , XXMB2 is for italian one,what is this value and where i can check it in Aroma Rom,since it's not listed under "Phone Information" ? Just wondering if this can lead to any kind of issue.
If i replace the phone firmware could this break the ROM ? Where to put the XXMB2 file in Odin,in case you suggest me to replace it?

Thanks for the reply,but prolly, I've explained myselft in the wrong way,so far the cellphone is working without any issue,but since i'm a perfectionist ,
I wanna know if it is possible to flash only the Phone part and leave the rest untouched ,and if that could "break" the Rom and revert it to stock.
I've got the latest firmaware for my phone,what I wanna know is if I need to check Re-partion too or not.
Same story for the XXLA2 vs XXMB2 (what is that value by the way ?? ) and what file do i need to use once i've splitted the md5.

hey see if you want some part of firmware and leave another untouched i think these is not proper see in the firmware's file Phone,Modem,CSC you have to use same files only see at before i also tried these thing to change some file and all but i failed it wont boot thats why i preffer to use all same files by the way why you want to change those file ?

Actually I'm just wondering if a different BaseBand version could lead to some phone signal issue,like low band signal and so on,that's why I'm asking;but if you're telling me that the phone will work perfectly fine.even with that diffrent BaseBand version,I'll be good (I've installed Aroma v11 yesterday,so I'm "testing" it)also what are XXLA2 and XXMB2 ?
i have stock JB 4.1.2 firmware which is the baseband ver. is I1900DXLS8, currently i have root with philz recovery and have faces many times of phone hangs. it that this version is not stable?
recommend me the stable stock firmware. i've watched the sammobile firmware website and got many firmware list there and i dont know what is the most stable firmware..

What is the benefit of this version? The carrier and country is other than my country so, will this affcted my phone languge or something else.. ??
Why not try a custom firmware out mate. Roms like neatrom and alliance rom ect ect are much better than stock could ever be. Flashing stock with Odin for me is a last ditch to revive my phone never happened lol.

Custom rom recommendations are forbidden. Read some rom threads, try some out.

Steps:
1. Go into dev forum
2. Download a ROM you like the look of
3. Try said ROM
4. If you don't like then try a different ROM, else profit!
