Anyone know how to get the TouchWiz Weather, S-Task and S-Calendar Widget working in Nova Launcher?
Downloaded the paid version and I'd really like to get these working on Nova.

You can't. They are built into the TouchWiz frame work. You'll have to choose, Nova or TouchWiz. There are alternatives to get very close to what you are looking for in widgets but will require more $ from your wallet.

Sorry. I know how you feel though. I wish all the handset makers would just make thier "skins/launchers" on the playstore and then let us decide what we want to use and even pay a few pennies for them. But what do I know.

I agree, Stick with the Stock Android Interface and design widgets for that. Then we can pick and choose what we want.
Can't even enable the stock Android UI on the phone.

Why should I buy it? Besides resize widgets, what else can I do? Thanks.

It has its own calendar and contacts widgets that might interest people.
What else? I think it is a good useful product and I will support a dev that comes up with a good useful product.
Fair enough. Anybody else have anything? Im going to buy it, I.just wanted some input first.

Widget Resizing? Give me a break. GO Launcher and Zeam both give you widget resizing for FREE! Plus, GO LAUNCHer and and ZEAM have swipe gestures, such as simply swiping up on your screen to open an app, which LP does NOT have. The only good thing of LP is it's 3d launcher, which still isn't that clean.
Being able to customize the size of widgets has made me use them even though they kill battery my screen is setup just the way I want it which makes pro awesome
Nerov3 voodoo
I've tried zeam and go launcher, and awe. None of.them run as smooth as LP on my phone. So other then supporting the dev, resizable widgets and a calendar that's it?

I am swyping on my screen all the time, does it mean I will be overwhelmed with launching apps? LP has swype gestures you can tie to icons on the home screen, like see the missed calls if you swype on the phone icon, unread msg if you do so on a messaging icon, etc.

LP allows you to have up to 15 apps on the bottom dock... those 15 apps can have a dual swipe feature, so technically you can have up to 30 apps/activities/etc without even opening your appdrawer or moving from your home screen.
Also, how is the 3d drawer not "clean"... that makes no sense. It's okay to like other launchers, but you are just bashing this one when you sound ignorant to it.
LP+ is primarily to support the developer... people often mention the resizing widgets... I think the MAIN reason to get it though are the amazing widgets included. He has done a very good job with those and they look sexy.

Totally agree!
The swype gestures are plus version feature as well.
Widgets...
Ahh, didnt realize the swipe was a + feature, just always had it
That was one of my fav discoveries!
Custom docks, icons, resizeable widgets, all this for free. For $2.99 you get the extras, give the man his dues...you won't regret it.
Vibrant
OK I forked over the 2.99. I will post back tomorrow after Ive had time to play around with it. Thanks for the input guys!!
Wish you could buy it via the market.

+1 on this. Its been said already but ill add. I bought it mainly for the support of the dev. I don't use one feature + has extra. $2.99 is probably the cheapest daily use item I own lol.

Its looking like this is going to be the case for me to. The widgets don't really interest me much. But its ok LP runs so much more smooth on my phone then anything else. Glad to support the dev. Has anybody tried the icon pack for LP. Its a 1.99 in the market?

Ok, so I know this is a hugely personal thing, but, will you keep Touchwiz or use a custom launcher?
Personally, I don't like the look of Touchwiz at all. With that in mind one of the great ICS launchers (Nova and Apex) should seem like an easy decision!?
The thing is I am not sure how many of the new features you may lose out on by giving up on Touchwiz... will features like SmartAlert and SmartStay still work?

I as well will be changing the launcher. Yes, your extra Touchwiz like features will remain (ie SmartStay, SmartAlert, and the redesigned apps such messaging and the settings and the drop down notification shade) as those are baked into the firmware. The only you thing you might (and probably WILL) be losing are your Touchwiz widgets and from past experience with them that's not a deal breaker at all.
I will say one thing as someone who's deciding between the HOX and the SGSIII that I'm a bit disappointed that Touchwiz hasn't matured quite the same way that Sense has. Sense just plain looks nicer and you can clearly see the ICS undertones. I feel like ICS has been buried beneath Touchwiz. And I don't like that :-(

In all honesty I'll either stick with touchwiz or use spb shell 3d which I already have on my tablet.

none. unless he means the theme itself.
I used a custom launcher on my S2. However looking at Touchwiz on the S3, I quite like it. It looks alot nicer.
I`ll probably keep it until I want more options and theming.

I think that's exactly it. I am judging it before I have had time with it. My new approach will be to keep it until I don't like it!
Depends on two factors:
1. How good the tw widgets are (some of them are good!)
2. Whether I need more ram (tw is a memory hog), and whether tw is butter smooth (I'm guessing this iteration is!).

Likewise. TW will be the very first thing I change when setting up my phone and will be replaced with Go Launcher EX lol
If the phone shows zero signs of lag - I will likely keep the stock launcher. Just rooted to ditch bloat apps.
touch wiz launcher is just a part of all the software customizations packed. if you replace the laucher you will still have the rest of touch wiz package like music player, radio etc etc

So Guys, which launcher is running the best for you on JellyBean? I have experienced lots of lag here and there with certain launchers using all the same types of settings/layouts and I've landed on the updated ADW Ex 1.3.3.8 which gives me ZERO-lag.
What do you think? Which launcher gives you zero lag?
Sslauncher then stock and then Nova. No lag on any
No lag with ADW EX at all.

i think u are running the same setup as me.... pac-man + ADW
really hard combo to beat. Although nova and apex are virtually lag free, they don't have near the customization that adw has, IMO

2 reasons.
1 . go app stuff is closed source which wouldn't be such an offense if it weren't for the next reason.
2. Go apps are Chinese and, like a lot of other Chinese apps, are being looked into for sending information to the Chinese government, which in China is perfectly legal cause they're communists... But the play store is international.
Op there is no best anything. It's up to you to figure out you're own taste
This poll is WAY OFF....Nova and Apex are not at all the same. Been testing both for weeks and I would choose one over the other. Plus putting them together creates a false poll. You need to separate them.

I find the differences few and far between... maybe some different transitions, and the apex menu, but there aren't too many noteworthy features that one offers that the other doesn't - Please tell me what is so incredibly different? (from a user standpoint that everyone will understand)
Is the TW 'month calendar widget' available as a separate APK? I love the widget, but want to play in my standby NOVA Launcher. The only two things keeping me from NOVA are this widget and that I like the TW transparent status bar. The status bar is more cosmetic, so if I had the widget I'd give NOVA a long term try.

Transparent status bar is available in Nova as well, I use it all the time. All of the Touchwiz widgets need the framework to work I think so your best bet is to poke around in the Play Store to find something that look/acts similar.

Thanks, I didn't know NOVA did that. I just activated it, looks nice.
I went back to NOVA now and added the old standby of Simple Calendar Widget, but I really would still like to find the TW month widget. Nothing out there in the store comes close, at least that I found. I did see one, but it was a buy only. I like to see free dummied down versions of apps if possible to have a look without bucks.

You have 15 minutes to get a refund on any paid app you try, so if there's no trial version you can just try it and if you don't like it you can still get your money back.
Does anyone know of a way to lock the stock launcher desktop. I know I can change launchers that have that feature. But I want to keep stock.

Yes, Nova has this feature - - which is great for friends with fumble fingers.
Why keep stock launcher when Nova has that, and more, like icon packs, shadows under icons, different transitions, landscape movement across screens...
I can see keeping stock firmware instead of custom ROM, but keeping stock launcher? Come on, don't be silly.

I just want to keep it things simple as possible and fast. But your prolly right will try the launcher again.
EDIT: I remember why I couldn't switch. I can't use LG widgets with Nova launcher. So I'm trading one thing for another. I can live without desktop lock for now.
