Now I will show you how to speed up your slow ICS Xperia to fast as on Gingerbread.
This works for me but that does not means that it will work for you!
Anyway lets start.
You will need Root Explorer or Solid Explorer or some app that have access to system folder and root.
1. Go to /system
2. You will find here build.prop file and open it in text editor.
3. Change this

to
4. Save file
5. Go to /data/dalvik-cache and delete all files,NOTE: You will get few FCs during deleting but thats normal.
6. Now quickly reboot phone.
7. Enjoy!
Now about that values you can change them to anything you want for example my U has low RAM so big heapsize slows down phone.
You can also change values to 32m and 64m or any you want but I advise to use only that three.
For optional speed up I would delete all bloatware from /system/app folder.
If I helped you please press Thanks button.

I've been asked a few times to do a blue, but it's the one colour I would never do as it's S.E's colour which I don't like. My next theme will be something dark, but I'm loving the Green at the moment so don't know when that might be.
You guys think Theme Chooser would be available on the Neo soon?

Hi everyone, this thread will show you how to change any of your User Interface sounds for example your lock screen sound or camera capture sound etc.
I'm not responsible for you loosing any of your sounds! If you follow this correctly you shouldn't lose any
What you need:
•Root explorer
(If you don't have it search for it in 4 shared)
•A '.ogg' file, if you need to convert a mp3 sound into a ogg one you can use this http://audio.online-convert.com/convert-to-ogg Its a online converter
• And probably a computer to make life easier
Now for the fun:
• OK Take your .ogg sound and put in the root of your sd-card
• Then you must decide on what sound you would like to change, to do this go to system/media/audio/ui so for example I see "LowBattery.ogg" and I decide I don't like the Low battery sound so I want to change it I must remember "LowBattery.ogg".
• Go to your .ogg sound in the root of your sd-card and then rename it "LowBattery.ogg" (Im still using it as an example)
•Then move it to system/media/audio/ui if you get a error saying "Warning You cannot paste here because the file system is read-only." say 'ok' and in the top right corner you'll see something saying 'Mount R/W' press that and make sure it then says 'Mount R/O' and try again
•Ok now you will see two "LowBattery.ogg" files, play both of them and move the one your not going to use any more somewhere else, I would recommend you make a new folder in your sd-card called 'Backup sounds' or whatever you would like to call it.
•Hold on where not done yet! You need to check the permissions of your new UI sound, to do this press on hold on it and make sure it is like this
{

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Okay now we are complete, well done!
Remember, I used "LowBattery.ogg" as an example, you need to rename your sound accordingly.
If this fails for you move the original sound back to system/media/audio/ui and delete the one you tried using that failed.
Be careful and enjoy

Hello ,
I have created a small app to switch floating off and on.Its still uses reboot to get the work done.I am working on removing requirement of reboot.
Edit:I don't think it is possible i.e without reboot.I hope Sony will do a better implementation of floating touch tech in the ICS.
Cheers.

Hi,
I found a solution for enabling floating touch throughout the UI for Xperia Sola.
Here is a video:
From other source..
1.Go to system/etc
2.Delete excluded-input-devices.xml or rename it to something like 1excluded-input-devices.xml.
3.Reboot
4.That's it.
5.If you want to disable it,use the attachment or a have backup,and copy paste to same location.
or rename it to excluded-input-devices.xml..
6.Change permissions to rw-r-r.
7.Reboot
Requirements:
Rooted.
I have created a flashable zip,so during booting you could turn floating on and off.
Install them through recovery.
To turn on floating touch, install floaton.zip through recovery.
To turn off floating touch, install floatoff.zip through recovery.
And,also [Dev]Disabling a input device(airtouch) when keyboard pops up.
and Thanks to ashwin prabhunerurkar for renaming method.
Warnig:Floating touch is difficult to use.Needs practice.
Hit Thanks,If you can.......in this post or any of my posts.

I have been thinking about it.
Even if a app could delete/move the file,it would still require a reboot,as the input device is included/excluded at booting.

Reboot.
There are some drawbacks for floating without right implementation.
1.It is difficult to use,takes practice.
2.Sometime when you both float and touch a button/icon,it will take as two different inputs and open it twice.
3.There is keyboard problem.
4.When you put Sola in pant pocket,music might start playing,by lockscreen music widget(only if display isn't off).It happend to me.
5.Unwanted clicks by accidently hovering.
And more.
I'm is not the MAKER of this MOD, i'm just sharing.
Okay, let's start
Requirement

Do with your own risk

Yup I've found my own way but thank for sharing. For the ones who want to do it manually:
-Make sure you have on-screen navigation before continuing!!!
- Use a root browser and navigate to system/usr/keyloadout
- Edit the file clearpad so all the lines have an # in the beginning (like the first line)
-Reboot

Hello, could someone please explain to me how to get rid of the Small Apps and the whole Small Apps bar in the app switcher?
My Xperia Z Ultra is rooted. Thanks for your help!

If you want to completely uninstall them, go to /data/app (some may be in /system/app) (root required), or if you just want to disable them, go to Settings->Apps->All
The white bar where the small apps are, can't (easily) be removed.
Thread below suggests it may be possible. Can you post back results?

Which way did you use to delete these two apps? With ASTRO File Manager I can't delete them...

Are you rooted? Go to /system/app (i use Solid Explorer), and just delete or backup (i.e just move them to the SD card) the two files (or four if it's an odexed ROM), and reboot.
Yes, my Xperia Z Ultra is rooted. It worked great with Solid Explorer. Weird ASTRO File Explorer behavior...
All stupid Small Apps are now gone. Thanks a lot!

Excellent! That's something I'll be doing when I root.

What?! Both works just fine here. How about now?
Edit: God damn it. It doesn't work here either.. Well, it looks exactly like the stock AOSP switcher.
