alarm snooze unreliable

I am using the default alarm clock on the phone.
I generally snooze a few times in the morning, but am finding the snooze function to not work all the time.
I've found if i set my alarm for on the hour (5:00am), the snooze never works.
But if i set my alarm for 5 minutes past the hour (5:05am) it seems to work most of the time.
I have set my alarm to snooze 3 times with 5 minute intervals.
I am definitely hitting snooze and not by mistake turning the alarm off.
Is anyone else finding this alarm unreliable?
Can someone suggest a good alternative alarm to download?
I didnĀ“t notice anything wrong with mine, but there are some good free alternatives in the market.
What ROM are you running? I haven't noticed this problem with mine.

Misbehaving Alarm Clock

This is strange but Better Battery stats says that AlarmClock (com.android.deskclock.Clock) has kept my phone in wakelock for 50 minutes. I went to sleep with 100 percent batt and I'm quite sure my Alarm did not ring for 50 straight minutes... My battery is now at 82 percent after 6 hours.
Battery Use in Gingerbread also shows that my phone was awake for most of the time since the alarm went off. Should I use another alarm clock app? I am using the default alarm clock app in mik's CM 6.5.8.
The alarm clock does that even on stock Gingerbread. You should freeze/uninstall Clock and use Alarm Clock Plus on Market, it is much better.

[Q] App Request: Inactivity alarm

I thought of something that could be built using the free calendar app or possibly the timer, and I think it would have some value. I'd like to see an app that would watch the Gear Fit pedometer and send an alert if it hadn't moved a set amount forward in a user-set time period. For example, if the pedometer was at 2000 steps at 10AM and this app recorded that, and the user had set an interval of one hour in the app for the notification and 200 steps for the increment they wanted to achieve, then at 11AM the app would check the old pedometer reading against the new pedometer reading to see if it had advanced more or less than the preset increment - then the app would create an alarm event if the pedometer was lower than the target, and not create an alarm if the pedometer was over the target value. The alarms would stay on the calendar, and would be snoozed or answered as they are today. A second feature would make the app do this at the user-determined intervals between two set times, say 8AM and 8PM on each day - otherwise it would bother users at night.
Do you think this would be possible? useful?

[APP] Alarm Clock that doesn't light up the screen

Searching high and low, I FINALLY found one!
A while back I posted HERE looking for an Alarm Clock app or modification that permits leaving the screen off while alarms are sounding. I am a heavy sleeper and all the other alarm clock apps I tried automatically wake the phone screen whenever an alarm is playing. This was putting enormous strain on my (non-replaceable HTC One M8) battery, reducing its calendar life by draining 20-40% of the power before I regain consciousness every morning.
So far out of about 10-12 clock apps I have tried, this is the only one I have found that will play an alarm and leave the screen off (or dimmed if you like):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.tanyu.SmartAlarmFree
It also has many other great features like launching an app on alarm trigger, gentle (ascending) song/ringtone/alarm volume, use music files as alarms and more!
THANKS TO THE DEVELOPER OF THIS!!!!!!

Alarm Clock not Working Properly

Has anyone had any issues with the alarm clock on the S8? I got mine in February, and since day one, the alarm clock feature has never worked properly. Specifically, the repeat feature doesn't work. I can set the alarm for say 7:00am and have it repeat every day. The first day it will work from initially setting it, but it won't work on subsequent days. Ironically, it will display a 'missed alarm' message, which isn't ideal when you're reading it at 8:00am
The only way I can get it to work for the next day is to switch that alarm off and then on again.
Yes, I know I could buy an alarm clock, but that's not the point.
