I have just made a zip of the ICS FTF for a friend.
My questions are: is there one already and I just wasted my time?
If not, does anybody want to test it as I won't be able to check on my friend's phone for another two days.
I've removed some apps and rooted it.

There is none,as far as i know,n is it for st25i or st25a..please gimme the link,i'll test it n report back..also.does the recovery works even after the update..??
I haven't added the kernel, so I think the ROM would have to be flashed in recovery first, then flash the stock kernel in Flashtool. I could upload that as well if needed.
I could look into adding the kernel, I think it's just a few lines in the update script. It's unlikely to have recovery though. Don't know how to do that yet.
I'm not familiar with adding kernels because I've only tried with a phone that can't flash kernels in recovery.

As far as I know it is a, but I've changed the build.prop to i. I read as long as you don't flash the baseband it should be OK.
Sent from my Xperia Play using xda app-developers app
So,that means i just have to boot into recovery and flash the zip,and then flash the stock kernel again..right,,k gimme all the lins,m keen to try it..

It actually worked?

Not working for me..stuck in bootloop..
Did you wipe caches and data before and after, and use the correct (stock ICS) kernel?

If you find way how to flash kernel via flashable.zip...then you don't need PC anymore
Sent from my MT15i using Tapatalk
Boot.img can be flashed from recovery, certainly is done for other phones checkout the Motorola defy forum. Think that can for Neo needs updating first though.

If I'm right...then Neo don't have recovery partitsion...because we can't flash kernel directly.

is there a link with partition info for Neo. Only had the phone three days, need to do more research

1. You can't have flashable zip for kernels with integrated recovery, for obvious reasons.
2. A universal kernel stock+MIUI+CM7 is possible, check SGS II. I don't know how this has been done (atm) through.

if developing kernels was easy for noobs like me, I even try something when my pc is ready. But im happy that kernel can be made
hi,
I accidently deleted my systemUI.apk using root explorer. Everythings black on homescreen. How do i fix this? I am running stock ics .110 on my sola.
Did you do a nandroid backup?
If yes, then restore usong swm
Otherwise flash any sola ftf via flashtool
Sent from my ST25a using xda app-developers app
is there any easier way?
No...systemui is the interface through which you could use your android...but since you deleted it...there is no way that you could reinstall it via your mobile...assuming u r rooted and have cwm installed, u can either restore or do a reset..these r the fastest n easiest ways...

Just a thought
Flash moded systemui. Zip from app section.
may be it will work for you.

As I've not got access to a pc for a while to relock bootloader an update my Xperia p
I was hoping someone could post the stock Sony 6.1.1.B.75 as a backup for me so I can restore it through CWM
Its the fw I'm already on but for some reason I've got the notification of an update to that fw and can't get rid of it, its really annoying "/
I'm on vengeance kernel 1.25 so preferably could it have that kernel too but if not it doesn't matter

U cant flash stock FTF through CWM. U need flashtool for that.
Here u go: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2089118
I didn't want an ftf I wanted someone to backup there system with stock .75 so I could use CWM to restore it on my XP
As it says in OP I don't have a pc for a while so I can't use flashtool or relock and use pc companion and unlock again

I know the topic is resolved but I just thought Id tell you an easy solution to your problem In CWM, there's a Tools option, and inside, there's an option to create Stock zip Basically, its a CWM version of the rom you have now, minus the baseband and loader

I know how to do all that its just I reflashed .75 through flashtool instead of locking bootloader using pcc then unlocking again
But because of this I'm on .75 with a notification in the drop down bar to update to .75 which is really annoying so I needed someone with .75 through pcc to backup their system using cwm and send it me "/ but get access to a pc sometime today so no need may aswell do it myself

You can not. For flashing any other kernel except stock you need unlocked bootloader.

If it works with stock kernel... In some cases custom roms work with custom kernels only, so to not brick your device be sure this rom works with stock kernel.
EDIT: after you have locked bl how will you install stock kernel with recovery?
Is that necessary to rename any custom kernel to "boot.img" before flashing it (via FLAHTOOL.exe) ?
I want know this bcoz I flashed a kernel(not renamed to 'boot.img') and after that installed a ROM(for unlocked BL only) via CWM and got black screen or bootloop... Please help meh..
Sent from my MT11i using xda app-developers app
You can change kernel name, but make sure you type in command prompt with the same name with kernel.
Flash kernel must from a PC ,cant flash through CWM.Before flash kernel make sure you have unlock your bootloader.
My BL is unlocked!!
What do you mean by "command prompt with the same name of kernel ?“
Please say in details...
Sent from my MT11i using xda app-developers app
When you renamed the boot image i.e (PACMAN.IMG)...you must type in DOS command prompt like this fastboot flash boot PACMAN.IMG .
Sorry man... Im using flahtool.exe for flashing

No need to rename the kernel as boot.img.. But make sure the kernel u r flashing is compatible with the rom... Otherwise ur phone will not boot & u will face bootloop... Like GB ROM = GB Kernel, ICS ROM = ICS Kernel & JB ROM = JB Kernel

If you would read the rom thread properly no one has told that the kernel is inside the zip. It is is written that you have to flash fusion 5.4.
