hi,
I accidently deleted my systemUI.apk using root explorer. Everythings black on homescreen. How do i fix this? I am running stock ics .110 on my sola.
Did you do a nandroid backup?
If yes, then restore usong swm
Otherwise flash any sola ftf via flashtool
Sent from my ST25a using xda app-developers app
is there any easier way?
No...systemui is the interface through which you could use your android...but since you deleted it...there is no way that you could reinstall it via your mobile...assuming u r rooted and have cwm installed, u can either restore or do a reset..these r the fastest n easiest ways...

Just a thought
Flash moded systemui. Zip from app section.
may be it will work for you.

I have just made a zip of the ICS FTF for a friend.
My questions are: is there one already and I just wasted my time?
If not, does anybody want to test it as I won't be able to check on my friend's phone for another two days.
I've removed some apps and rooted it.

There is none,as far as i know,n is it for st25i or st25a..please gimme the link,i'll test it n report back..also.does the recovery works even after the update..??
I haven't added the kernel, so I think the ROM would have to be flashed in recovery first, then flash the stock kernel in Flashtool. I could upload that as well if needed.
I could look into adding the kernel, I think it's just a few lines in the update script. It's unlikely to have recovery though. Don't know how to do that yet.
I'm not familiar with adding kernels because I've only tried with a phone that can't flash kernels in recovery.

As far as I know it is a, but I've changed the build.prop to i. I read as long as you don't flash the baseband it should be OK.

So,that means i just have to boot into recovery and flash the zip,and then flash the stock kernel again..right,,k gimme all the lins,m keen to try it..

Not working for me..stuck in bootloop..
Did you wipe caches and data before and after, and use the correct (stock ICS) kernel?

So you made a backup from stock rom (ics?) with stock kernel. And you want restore it? Is this the same firmware as you currently running?
did you renamed the backup? CWM writes something in the restorte process? e.g md5 mistmach or something else?
If you made a backup from gb rom you can't restore it with ics kernel, because cwm can't restore the kernel.
I created backup of latest kernel n ics. Than i tried to install custom rom but it didnt work so i tried t restore... Twice unable... Dont wry only 1 backup and date is mentioned on it.... U mean t say to restore kernal shall remain same?
1 more que i used pimp my rom app nw my internet game force closes?

On cwm when try to restore gives you a status 7 error or something like that?
Friend one thing you have to remember that while restoring old rom you have to remember that you need to flash the same kernel on which you have taken the backup as your problem is rom kernel mismatch. For stock rom try Rage kernel
Sent from my Xperia Live with Walkman using xda app-developers app
Restore like this:
Wipe data
Wipe cache
Format system
Wipe dalvik cache
Restore
Be sure you have not renamed backup or any file related to cwm

Yes Ajay74 is right, your problem is kernel ROM mismatch. On all Xperia 2011 devices (and before) there is no separate partition for recovery and it usually lives in the boot partition and recovery cannot back up the partition where it lives. So the kernel is not backed up and restoring a back up will not restore the kernel that made the back up.
Long story short I was running CM9 and I had an Important Message on there.
I need to get it but I don't want to reflash my ROM to get it.
Can I extract it from a CWM backup?

Why you don't backup Messages using stock Backup And Restore tools?
But that only works in stock ROM.
I think you can't extract the messages...

If you have the firmware ftf, just flash it with flashtool, before you do clear all items in wipe and select all items in exclude, except kernel.
