Hey guys I recently flashed the speedrom7.8, and I am loving it.
The only problem is that the phone always starts up I fast boot mode and the power options no longer exist in the settings so I can't turn it off. I have also looked in the application tab, and its not there either.
How do I disable it?

Just a thought but maybe if you copy the settings apk from stock Rom shut it off and then put the speedrom settings back it would work. Back up first cuz like I said...just a thought. Good luck.

Done a search and can't find a solution...
With the 'easy to press' buttons on the HD2 the phone screen keeps powering on in my pocket (I use phone lock to stop auto dialling).
This is draining the battery...
Any way to stop this happening? Say, have just the power button only turn on the screen, after a long press for example???

Try settings / system / keylock settings. There are options to set the buttons as non responsive except for the power button.

I have this same issue and I've got a stock 3.14 tmobile rom but when I go to settings / system /, there is no options for keylock settings. is that on a custom rom?

From new my phone used to have the option of locking all buttons except the power key ... until I did my first hard reset, then it vanished! I would have thought the settings app would have been in the ROM, so restored after the hard reset, but obviously not.
Anyone have a cab for it or care to extract it from their HD2?

Nope, no such option on my HD2...
Seems we need 'keylock.exe'

Ok, at least I know I'm not unique now...
i've installed Hd2ProximityScreenOff-0.2.cab which I guess turns the screen back off quickly if an "in-pocket" button press brings the screen to life. (can't confirm what happens in my pocket, but seems to do the trick in my hand)
but I'd really like to know if someone knows how to get to this keylock setting

i can install the stock rom update right from tmo, and install cabs and crap, but not yet ready to make the leap to customer roms (or android for that matter)
try pocketshield software. it has feature that turns your screen immediately off if its in pocket etc with proximity sensor, also its great and cool.
OK, I've seen the videos of the Thunderbolt with fast boot, booting up in like 10 seconds. I have fast boot enabled but it still takes over a minute to boot. Any thoughts on what I can do to fix this?
I don't know if this was coincidence but I noticed that on mine after I checked fast boot it was still slow to boot. Tried it a second time and it loaded in about 12 sec. The first time might have been getting it setup in cache or something, don't quote me on that though.
Same. Fast boot seemed like a normal reboot to me.

I've tried everything, removed all apps and rebooted several times - still slow booting. I wiped the device and then rebooted several times and still all slow boot. I've posted this on various forums and so far I've seen a few people that fast boot is not working. As of yet no one has came across a fix that I've seen.

This might sound dumb but just checking.
Fast boot only works when you power down using power off form the power menu.
If you choose reboot it does not do anything with fastboot.
Are you choosing reboot or shutdown then pressing the power button?

I'm holding in the power button and choosing "Power off/Shut phone down" option.
Just to make sure I'm not just over looking the obvious. All I should have to do is
1. Go into Settings -> Power and check Fast Boot
2. Hold in power button and choose shut down
a. Phone turns off
3. Hold power button in to "fast boot"
Is that correct? Or is their a hidden step? lol I'm starting to get paranoid that I'm just blatantly overlooking a setting.

That sounds write. When you boot back up and go into setting is the fast boot option still checked?
Yes it's still checked. If it were just my phone I would say it's defective, but the fact that my friend got his same time I got mine and it's doing the same thing really makes me want to think I'm just missing something.
Does it show you the very first htc screen?

On my that screen does not show when i use fast boot.
And when i use fast boot i dont need to hold the power button that long.
So for some reason your phone it not doing the fast boot.
Can you check the difference in time it takes to turn off with the option on and off?
I believe it turns off faster when fast boot is on.
But i am really out of ideas. very odd.

With option unchecked:
Turn off time: 15.8 seconds
Boot time: 59.4 seconds to lock screen
With option checked:
Turn off time: 24.1 seconds
Boot time: 58.8 seconds to lock screen
I had my friend check his wife's phone and fast boot is doing the same on it. I'm really inclined to say I'm missing something, but I just don't see it. I'm not new to android, I've had an android device since the Moto Droid and have rooted them, restored them, backed them up, put custom roms on them, etc... I'm really starting to feel stupid though

It is checked in both places.
yupp mines doing it too, i have it checked in and it loads as if its not clicked, which is fine since fastboot is only putting the only in hibernation mode and not really restarting it, just another way to make it look as if it has a fast boot, which it doesnt

Yeah, same here. On a side note, I can't wait to get some custom roms so I can get rid of that annoying thunderbolt boot screen.

Haha, I love the boot screen. Its great to see peoples faces when you hear the storm as it's booting up.

Off topic, cant you copy bootanimation.zip files to /data/local without root?
Hey guys. I've installed 2.3.3 Wolfbreak ROM and well a problem im facing is that i cant turn off the phone. I hold the power button but it just restarts the phone. I have to take out the battery to make it turn off. Plus as soon as i enter the battery back, It turns back on. Whats going on?

first this isnt the place for this threat
second that problem its cause u installed some theme, or mod, or the color icons mod... uninstall it or just restore the last backup cheers =D
maybe installing again the update4.0.4 can help
You installed the green icon set. Remove that one and you be fine. Nex time do not start a tread about bugs because then this forum will be very large

Having followed this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1544855 I have installed the ROM and rooted my pad however one thing that seems strange is the powering down/up
long press of power button gives 2 options power down or restart
a restart will go through all the boot up animation etc but if I turn device off I'm not sure if it turns off properly because when I turn it back on say an hour later there is no boot animation and my home screen comes up virtualy straight away
is this normal
I believe you need to go to setting, and disable fastboot. It's near the bottom at the setting page.

You can use a program called "Quick Boot (Reboot)" it provides you with an option that will truly power the unit off.

Are you on honeycomb? I don't remember hc that much since after I bought it, I immediately install ICS on it. On my HUAWEI phone (froyo) it is on settings - applications. On my HTC phone (gb) it is on settings - power.
Uninstalled Touchwiz cause i had a new launcher but went into ultra power mode and I couldn't turn it off so i restarted hoping it would fix the problem but now it just stays the the tmobile 4glte screen what should i do?

Not sure if a factory reset will work for you but it might - or if you can't get the phone up and running at all - - use odin to flash the stock rom and start over - maybe there is an easier way, but I don't know what it would be - good luck....
yea i factory reset but it deleted everythinglauncher keyboard everything -__- but luckily i found a way to fix everything and i have my phone back obviously with everything deleted but better than nothing =) quick question will it drain my battery if i have a touchwiz launcher but not use it but use nova
