(Q) (solved) GSM In indonesia? - HTC EVO 3D

Hi guys,
Got a quick question for you. I'm going to indonesia for about 1-2 months, i currentlly live in holland using my evo 3d GSM.
Can i use this phone in indonesia? Couldn't find an answer anywhere...
My provider (t-mobile NL) says i can use it outside of europe, but they don't name any specific countries/continents.
Thanks in advance.

International roaming maybe? Check with them to see if your covered under international roaming

There is a user named cupliz from Indonesia who always downloads CDMA ROMs, so that country might be CDMA. Here is a post where he talks about it. You could try to pm him.

Hi,
I'm indonesian and i'm using evo 3d cdma. I think the gsm version must be can work here. At here the gsm operators (telkomsel, xl, satelindo, etc) are using 900 and 1800 mhz frequency. And i was read at gsmarena that htc evo 3d gsm can work at these frequencies

Are you using a GSM or CDMA Evo 3D? Pretty sure you can just take your phone to your carrier and have them unlock it for you if you are using a GSM. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Galaxy Note ATT on Tmobile 3g?

Hi, I have been reading some posts in the Radio thread reporting that they are using the T-mobile Modem. It was unclear whether they had it working on the T-mobile network or just using the modem on the ATT network.
Is there anyone here using the Galaxy Note on T-mobiles 1700Mhz AWS 3G band and getting internet and sms and everything no problem?
I just want to make sure before I go out and purchase one for a lot of money and not have it working.
I will test it once my Note comes in on Wednesday.
My plan is to unlock it here [ http://www.cellunlocker.net/ ], then Odin a t989 modem and test away.
If anyone already has a Note is willing to try this then go for it.
The Att Note does NOT use the 1700mhz band for AWS. I am on my phone but if you want a link Engadget wrote a whole article on it.

Yes, because out of the box it doesn't work. The skyrocket required a t989 modem, so its safe to say this does also.
Now it very well could still not work even after a modem flash... but its worth a try

easy to say it's worth a try when it's not your money
my advice to the OP.....save your cash, wait for some other guy with money to burn to try it. Maybe itsjusttim would be kind enough to bust out the greenies to give it a whirl

Can people please stop referring to the Engadget post. All they are saying is that it will NOT work by just unlocking it out of the box. Please see I have posted some questions for Myriam on Engadget that posted that article and she said this article was only meant out of the box in her replies since most people will not root and stuff she was simply talking about out of the box.

No idea, to my knowledge I don't think any non-T-Mobile has worked with WiFi calling, but then again... I have not done enough research on the subject.
Hope it works. I'm thinking of getting one on Friday

I don't believe that one would work.. our best bet for that is to have a developer who is partial to T-Mobile and takes the version from the t989 and adds it to a rom.
I'm sure it could be done, but we would have to convince a dev to help.

Sorry for the wait. Here is the post I wrote in Cricket forum. Let me know how it goes.
I didn't use QPST. I used DFS CDMA Tool, the demo works fine for writing the Cricket settings. I wasn't able to find where to write the min in that program so I used CDMA Tools 2.7 for that. Hope that helps guys. Ill be making a tutorial soon if somebody doesn't beat me to it. If you guys need more help let me know.

Note the join date - anything prior to February 2011 is grandfathered in.
I've moved this thread to Q&A - let's look past language issues and only post here if you can actually help.

You're asking for trouble by using that modem. If you feel that you have researched this query enough, you could try and see what happens but in my opinion, I would not do it.

I am planning to buy Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE-A U+ module in south Korea and i will be using in India
Just wanted to know is there any problem on using the Phone in India.
I got passive commands from South korean Mobile selling person that mobile will work in India, but i have heard that there will be problem on SMS usage, since korean SMS carrier frequency is different than Indian and also SMS service uses 2byte for each character whereas Indian it will 1byte for each character.
Did u buy S3 mobile at South Korea and did u face any problem for using in India?
What is ur Mobile service provider type whether it is U+ or SK tetecom(basically they are the service provider at Korea)
Surely you can use S3 Korean variant in India.
I am using SHV E210 L from last 8 months without any problem. You can use it on stock ROM or you can root and use custom ROMS.

It surely depends on if the device is locked to a specific carrier or not. Like it was said earlier, if it is the International I9300 model, it works like a charm. If the model is different, then make sure it isn't locked to a specific korean mobile carrier and it should work fine.
