and why is it so cheap?
The $350 one shows "bad esn" that would explain it.
why is it in the dev section ?

Are YOU developing something? No, then even if this is about the bootloader, since you aren't developing anything or have written a script it goes in General or Q&A (this question I would think could go in either.) but NOT in Development.

use to be had easily at Fred Meyers. but it s all gone. *sniffle*
I call bull**** on that. Plus, even if it was S-Off there isn't anything out there to use since the MAJORITY of us are S-On.
God, these threads are a mess.......I miss the Evo 4G section So organized....
The cdma heroc section was like that too ---and friendly

I just got my 3D today!
Now I am not able to find the best way to root, is there are app or easy way to do this with the evo 3d? With my 4G I would use 4zroot or something like that.
Where can I find CM7?
I really like the 3D part of the phone but cant let go of good old CM7.
And is CM7 fully working? (Other than the 3D pics/video)?
Thank You!
James
What hboot do you have...if 1.50 you're only option is the official HTC method I believe.

All depends on what hboot you have. If it's 1.5, you have to use the HTC method to root, and use the workaround when flashing roms. If you have anything lower than that, Revolutionary should work.

I believe so, check the thread to see.
No. Cm7 doesn't have Wimax or 3D working.
So how do I find out what hboot I have?
phone off - power + volume down
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App
Dang, I have hboot 1.50. . . .
So there will be no easy root and installing of rom's for me?
Not that it's hard, just different and takes a few more steps.
So far this is the best I have found?
http://androidforums.com/evo-3d-all...ms-kernels-using-fastboot-updated-2-20-a.html
Any better ways to root and get a custom rom?
Thinking of trying this rom out.

But really I would like a stock Android rom.

Because it's annoying having people ask the SAME questions over and over again, when they could find the answer in less than 30 seconds by searching or looking through the guides.

9/10 times you search for something it turns up an answer for a different phone.
Also you see what the question is without going into the thread, why go in it when you are only going to be an annoyance?

Not if you only search the subforum for your phone, or google "root evo 3d site:xda-developers.com"
And that's what the stickies are for as well, at the top of every subforum.

Dialing numbers when on the service voice menus does work on NEWT's OneX rom. For me at least.
On the other hand service numbers like say *116# don't.

Not really. But I noticed for some reason it has the numbers on the route of my sim card, and I can't delete them even if I wanted to. All this from the Rezound ofcourse.
While say if I insert the sim in a different phone, say my ****ty Nokia, and look through the sim contacts there, I won't find those numbers saved under "prepaid menu" or "customer service" the way they're on my Rezound.
Alright so I can root my Evo with a MAc, but how can I get custom roms if my bootloader is still locked...?
IS there a way for me to unlock it on my Mac?
You should be able to do it thru htcdev.com

Is the Evo under a different name? I looked.
Here's how you do it with a Mac. Go to TigerDirect.com, buy a PC, unlock.
In all honesty, had you researched (as you're supposed to do before doing anything remotely risky with your phone), you'd know this answer. Choose "All Other Supported Models."

And if you would take a minute to read the stickies, you would know what all that is. OTA is an update sent to your phone from your carrier. GSM are phones on networks like ATT and T-Mo. CDMA are Sprint and Verizon.
