I'm no expert, but you could use Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper to temporarily unroot, watch the Lakers game, and then restore root.

Superuser already has a temporary unroot function.

download voodoo rootkeeper from the market and run, if your rooted, it will temporarily unroot your device.
download and install the test skygo app from this thread (post 129)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1506967&page=13
open skygo, sign in to your account and watch, if you don't have an account sign up, obviously you need to be in the UK and a sky customer

Showing temp unroot?

I am searching now, but is there a way to show non root status to an app that checks root status, or does one have to go in and modify the app to tell it not to check.

By the way, I did try the ota root keeper app and it seems to work right. My problem more specifically is I want the twc TV app to work but it says it will not work with a rooted device. It gives me the same message even when I supposedly unroot with the app. I can't use the HBO go or max go because of 4.0 ics. Kind of bummed at the moment. They figures out a way to install the checks, now to change that so I can use them again.

edit: Just found the app with the modified buildprop! Works great and now I can watch streaming tv on my phone again(with ICS root). Now I just need to find the hbo go and max go with the modified parts to them.
Supercurio's root keeper app should allow this, at least that is what other users have stated in market comments.

The app does do just that buy somehow the twc TV all still sees root access. It wasn't until I tried the version with the modified build.prop that it stopped checking for root access and allowed mr to watch TV.

[Q] Jelly Bean OTA with root

Looks like the TF201 is getting JB in the next 72 hours: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1906599
I'm rooted, should I unroot before this lands? If I should, how do I unroot 9.4.2.28?
Thanks!
If you have a modded build prop I would restore the original one. Also unfreeze any frozen apps. No need to unroot though

and if you have browser2ram or other tweaks, uninstall/revert to stock before updating.
if you do want to unroot (and I agree with above post it may not be necessary) then install voodoo rootkeeper from play store. it will allow you to temporarily be unrooted at the push of a button, very good app.
I have to many tweaks to remember. I am always failed on OTA update. Better way for manual update.

I've read many posts of people's experience, and I am in same situation as you-
I suggest you do unroot before downloading and installing the update. Achieved by finding Voodoo root keeper from Play store. It's a straight forward app, lets you temporarily 'unroot' at the push of a button.
Hope that helps.
It worked! Thanks all!

[Q] hide root/make app see phone unrooted

I have an app that refuses to operate fully, because it says that streaming is not allowed on rooted devices.
Is there a way that I can hide rooted status from this app, or make it unrooted as far as the app is concerned? I have not given it root permissions; it just seems to know that the app is rooted.
Thanks!
I've had good luck with OTA rootkeeper, I've been able to watch movies on Google play, that sort of thing.

You can to set your root management program to automatically deny root on request.

Cant you unroot it?
Tried OTARootkeepet and app still complained. Even functionally unrooted it seemed to know.

What is the app?

[Q] Unroot?

Is there any way to unroot easily? Just in case my phone breaks down I still want access to the warranty.
Oh and will Google Play Movies still work after rooting?
should be able to unroot through the super user app or just flash back to stock via odin.
You might try Voodoo OTA rootkeeper, which has an option to temporarily unroot your phone. That should be adequate for service .

Has anyone tried this(SuperSU way) on note2 specifically?
I reset back to stock by flashing with Odin...not a hard process IMO.

Voodoo OTA rootkeeper i think would best answer your ?
I use Voodoo, and it works like a charm
The Google play movies will not work on the market it but I believe there is a hacked version that has the root check disabled. It should be on the forums or a simple Google search for "root Google play movies". (Sorry I'm at work and can't search the forums as well)
