I'm thinking about restoring my phone to deafult settings because of some small annoying bugs. Before the reset, I'd like to backup my apps etc. The included program for backups is really good, but I wonder where the backup is located if I need to transfer it to my computer so that it won't be deleted in the reset. My question is then: Where is the backup located? I've searched my whole internal memory and sdcard, but found nothing. I've also searched for the problem on Google without results. Please help me, I'd would be really thankful for quick answers.
EDIT: Never mind, dumb as I am I forgot to check the hidden files.

Hey there.
I had Lite'ning Rom 1.4 installed and decided to switch to VillainROM.
I did a full backup with Titanium Backup of all my user data and apps.
I did another backup in CMW, both successfully stored on the internal SD card.
I flashed VillainROM incl the tweaks, correct Kernel etc.
Now when I load Titanium Backup and want to restore my userdata like contacts, messages etc it does say it successfully restored the data but nothing is showing up, the contact list is still empty. So are the messages etc.
Since the Samsung stock apps are touched by VillainROM, is it possible the signatures are messed up or something?
I'm really a bit shocked I cannot seem to import the data, hopefully I'm just dumb and the data ain't lost
Please tell me that's the case...
Cheers for ANY advice on how to get my data back.
Okay, turns out I'm dumb.
A simply reboot did the trick, doh! It should say that somewhere...
Nevermind me, I will go into my corner and be ashamed of myself
I have a problem that is causing me a lot of stress and have been unable to think of and find a solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Today a friend of mine was looking through my phone and commented at how my internal storage was almost gone. He said that he could free up some space and so I obliged, as he knew his way around phones quite well. He was looking through a folder and commented that there were some .apk files that could be deleted to free up space. Thinking they were files I had gotten from downloads, I said it was OK to delete them. This was my mistake, as I should have asked where exactly these files were. He deletes the files and my internal storage frees up a few dozen megabytes. This is where everything went to hell. As soon as he finished deleting those .apk files applications start force closing one after another. Thinking it was a glitch he shuts down and restarts the phone. Upon restart, I find ALL my applications gone. The icons are gone and when clicking a spot where an application used to be, it says application not found.
My phone is rooted using DooMLoRD Easy Rooting Toolkit.
I HAD Titanium Backup (root) installed before this mess started.
I HAD rootexplorer installed as well.
Upon further investigation, my friend told me that he had deleted these .apk files from the phone memory under a data folder. He couldn't get more specific than that. He accessed these files through rootexplorer.
I seriously don't know what to do and am about to cry.
I thought that by reinstalling google play and titanium backup I'd be able to restore these applications but I can't even install the downloaded .apks from the internet. Tried putting it on my SD card and opening it but it doesn't recognize any program to install. I thought of using the Sony Ericsson PC Companion to install the .apks but don't know how my phone will be affected since it's been rooted using DooMLoRD's method.
Someone please help. I'm still a newbie with all of this and don't really know what I'm doing. Searches for similar problems on the internet haven't proven useful at all. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.
Thank you
Okay. You need to loose all your data. Take back up of contacts. It should be possible with the stock contacts app. And your msgs if you want.
Then do a factory reset. You will need to download your apps all over again. And if you had taken back up using titanium backup, you will be able to reinstall titanium back up after the factory reset. And you can restore things.
Thanks,
Rick

Your solution worked. Lost some data restoring a Titanium backup a couple days old but it's better than having everything missing. Thanks!
Hello guys,
I recently flashed the new CyanogenMod 10.2 on my Evo 3D GSM. Everything seems to be working fine except when I tried to restore my stuff i backed up with GoBackup Pro, an error message came up saying "Current path has been removed or corrupted". I've seen some threads describing the same problem but havent found a proper solution.
I've already tried rebooting , fixing permissions, reinstalling GoBackup Pro (including deleting the GoBackup folder completely - I have it backed up on my computer HDD), setting Root access in developer options to "Apps and ADB" (Although I dont really understand how would that help - I read it in a thread). I haven't tried formatting the card , cause i dont think it would help considering GoBackup is the only app that has problems accessing it.
If someone could be so kind to help me with this , I would be extremely helpful, cause I really need the restore.
Additionally , I'd like to ask one more thing. In case where nobody comes up with a solution , is there any way to manually restore the backup or for example restoring the GoBackup backup via another backup application ?
Thank you,
Chastter.
Any help on this one?
Encountered the same problem..
Hi everyone,
i hope someone can help me out with the following:
-Before moving to a new phone i've backed up data with an application....(i didn't do myself)
-After trying to restore it looks like the files are not good to be restored.....the fact is that the apps used to back up probably has not been reinstalled and the person now is not able to remember which one he used.
The file format for info,SMS etc. is .txt
and the file structure inside is something like:
{"subCategoriesSms":[{"address":"
"smsType":"TYPE_INBOX","status":"-1","checked":true,"label
if i could understand which backup apps use this set probably i could re-import.
-The phone where the backup was created was rooted, the new one is not....
Hope someone has a clue!

I'm new to this forum so i don't know wether i'm posting this in the right sub but i need help with restoring my phone's data. I stupidly used wondershare's "dr fone" to backup all my data on the computer which created a 15.9 gb .bak file. Problem is i didn't know that in order to restore this to your phone you had to have a subscription, before i wiped my phone. Now i am left with the aforementioned .bak file and i would like to know if there are any free pc applications that can restore all my data to the phone using this file. Thanks in advance.
Have you had a look at this thread?

Hi, thanks for replying. I just took a look. I tried a few other apps from google play since appbak was no longer on there, unfortunately none of them were able to use the file (I copied the .bak file from my pc to my phone's internal storage). I then found an old version of appbak through chrome and installed it but it also couldn't use the .bak file to restore my data. Eventually I tried restoring it through my phone's settings like a couple of people recommended but the only backup setting I could find was "Backup by Google One" (because my phone runs on Android One, which is focused on Google Services) and I could not use a local file to start restoring. At this point I might just try to restore my data manually but any further help would be appreciated. Thanks a lot.
