i picked option to keep root but i lost root after flash....(got cable) now my pc wont recognize the phone it will only charge it...also the phone still has SU mobile odin and cwm apps on the phone which i cant delete...so i called samsung and they couldnt fix but scared to send back as warranty will be void if SU is installed on my phone...now i can root cause cant connect to pc please help and thanks ahead of time

Do you have the drivers installed for the phone on your computer? Also don't double post
Sorry for the double post. And yes I.have the drivers installed thinking it has something to do with the mobile.Odin method I used.

My x10 will not be recognised by usb, ive tried booting it into flash mode and when its connected via usb it will charge but the menu doesnt pop up and nothing appears in the notifications bar. This happend when i tried to unroot my phone through the one click app and re root it. I factory reset the phone and i still have the problem so im stuck on what to do :S
Have you tried restarting your pc?
ah it seems my laptop didnt like both my portable mouse and my phone connected at the same time even though ive had a proper microsoft desktop set connected at the same time before :S Also is there a decrypted 2.1 ROM for the uk?
Did you check your USB cable? maybe it's broken? -.^ test it in another computer, if it recognize is OK, if not send your x10 to assistance
Its recognised via usb and i've managed to change it to global 2.1. However when i rooted it through oneclick and applied the speed fix, it broke root so now it says i've (shell) rooted my phone on oneclick but superuser doesn't work as in it wont pop up at all its quite annoying

My girlfriends Galaxy S 2 won't even recognize it's plugged into my laptop, yet it will charge.
Now it's no deal at all as she never plugs it into a PC anyway, I just transfer stuff bluetooth.
But I want to put a custom ROM on it to get rid of all the carrier bull****, but being un-able to connect to a PC, how can I root it and install one using just the handset itself?
Please help me?

Not possible imho without pc, uninstall and reinstall Kies or the usb drivers for connection. Disable usb debugging.
Oh ok, bugger. And I've tried doing that, doesn't seem to work.
The phone doesn't even come up that it's plugged in. Nothing.

Yoy usb drivers are not working, reinstall them again in Kies and reboot the pc. than connect again.

Is the S2 already running ICS firmware? If so you can easily root using the method here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1501719
Just put the two linked files on your internal sd (either transfer then via bluetooth or directly download from your phone through the browser) and follow the instructions, literally a 2 minute job.

Nope no go, just did that. KIES just says please connect a device
My galaxy Nexus connects up fine, just not her Galaxy S 2 yet it will charge fine. Dunno why.
EDIT: I take that back, left it plugged in and now it's making weird noises and sayings installing device driver software.

Just to eliminate another option have you tried cleaning the USB port on the phone, I have seen quite a few posts here and there saying that it has helped

Not possible, you have no cwm to flash it with, sammy`s 3rd recovery doesn`t allow flashing custom software. You need to have cwm.

Why are u using rom manager, it causes problems with sammy based roms. Turn off the phone, press volume up + menu +power buttom at the same time, you should get in cwm. Don`t use rom manager!
Did you try to connect on another pc? Or at least on another usb port? Windows should at least recognise that a new hardware has been plugged in
Having a problem with my SG3’s micro USB port.
Basically, it will only charge intermittently when plugged into the wall or PC, and the PC USB connection is completely dead; I can’t even connect it via Odin when download mode is enabled. I’m on a stock firmware but the flash counter is 1 (had root enabled, isn’t now) so my warranty is void I believe. I need some way of enabling root again so I can use triangle away to reset the flash counter and have it repaired under warranty, but without being able to make a connection to the PC... am I a bit stuffed?
I have the SGS3 White on Three (UK).
Any thoughts, tips, ideas much appreciated.
--update - ok I can use wifi file explorer to put files onto the device - is there anyway to get root back without having to use odin?

Hi, I need advice, today I made the root SGS2 and when you want to load custom ROM so I need to get to the phone memory. But since I can not root galaxy connect to it via usb to pc not know what to do? I tried to reinstall the drivers remove kies etc.. nothing ..

Don't know about the whole pc-thing, but you can download roms directly to your phone.
And btw, opening two of the same topics is not the way to let people answer your questions faster. Next time just open one thread.

Well if you want to go into usb mode...settings> (under wireless) go into more settings>usb utilities>connect to pc
Then connect your phone to the computer and remember to keep usb debugging off..
Or you can simply take your data in a mmc via card reader and put it into your internal from the mmc...

I just bought my new S3 yesterday, And when i try to connect my Mobile to Laptop (Windows 8 ) through USB, it starts charging only, I could not get the MTP storage., There is nothing showing in the Notification panel.
