I have flashed the latest Spain Stock ROM S5830XWKTQ in my galaxy ace..
So, now i was going to root my phone and saw a root zip file(upd_1.zip) in the galacy ace sticky thread on Xda..
But, the root mentioned there is an old version.(v2.6).. When the latest v3.1.3 is available on Chaindd Superuser website..
Can i install the latest version in my phone(any compatibilty issue) ??
There are two files:-
1) Superuser-3.1.3-arm.zip
2) su binaries-3.1.1.zip
Do i have to install both the zip files during recovery??

No z4root (I assume that's what you mean by z root app) does not work on ICS. In fact z4root doesn't work on any version of android over froyo.

There's no official Ics for Ace. There is not even an unofficial one!
Enviado do meu cooperve com a CyanmobileX rom
But is cyanogenmod 7.2 supported my phone?
Sent from my GT-S5830i using xda app-developers app
There will not be any official update to ICS/JB. Its still v.2.3.6. But we have unofficial CM 7.2 & 9.1 Its still in the development stage. There are several ROMs available in the development thread, in ICS/JB themed actually based on Stock 2.3.6 and CM7.2 (2.3.7)

It means you can update it to newer firmwares not newer Android-versions.
I don't give a f*ck from where I sent this from.
