Don't know how to explain this but so bear with me.
If i go to type a text message. the keyboard takes a while to recognise im typing so my message will miss the first few letters.
anyone else have this problem?
I had a kinda problem with my keyboard a few weeks back. I would be typing and it didnt matter what keys i tapped it would show random letters on screen but would type perfectly fine in landscape mode.
To start with i just installed swift key keyboard and everything was fine.
But after that i reflashed the same firmware back onto my phone and now my stock samsung keyboard works perfectly.
Hooe this helps.

Hy.
Me and my friend have the same problem: When writing a SMS, the keyboard hangs up occasionally, which is REALLY annoying...
We both have 2.1 and original kb
Is there a fix for that?
Thanks
I am having the same issues. It helps to have the vibrate function off, but it still hangs, but not as much. I'm having issues with the send button as well as I have to press it multiple times to send a message.

It's not good to hear hear that we're not the only ones... Seems to be a generic problem
I hope this will be fixed with the next firmware
Ok, I found out that if you use Handcent SMS, the keyboard don't hang as much.
So I deactivated notifications in the standard-SMS-app and only use Handcend SMS now.
Handcent also turns on the display and turns on the notification led in any color you want :-D
I've also had problems with Swype playing up in the Stock SMS app too... wouldn't swype had to type one key at a time.. and the carriage return key has turned into a smiley!! I' have been trying to keep my customisation to a minimum as I intend to move onto the Generic UK firmware in as soon as I get chance.. however this is annoying!
Just today its happened twice. If I go to open my text messages either to compose a new one or to reply to one after pressing on any of the keys the text does not show up that it has been typped. If I do swype it does the word suggestion but does not put the work in. I use SMS unread count other than the default one but it should just launch the default app to compose the message. Has anyone else had this.
I have had a similiar problem since the GB update. Sometimes the touchscreen stops working and I have to put the phone to sleep with the top button and revive it again to get the touchscreen working. I wonder if it is related to the heat problem because it seems to happen most when the phone gets really hot...
Im not on ginger bread though. Im on stock 2.2.2. The phone was never hot either. I just either woke it up to make a new text or to reply to one.
Hey guys I did a quick search but couldn't find anything specific. Randomly, the Y, H, and B keys on my atrix have stopped working. When I hit them I sometimes get nothing, or sometimes it gets the key next to them. If I try and swype across them, it will stop right at that line that all these keys are on. Any ideas on what this might be and how to fix it? I have rebooted and cleaned the screen. I'm running Cognition beta rom (had to flash back from CM7 in an emergency using CWM).
I'm really hoping this isnt a fried digitizer...
Dear all,
My Xperia phone is really nice and I have been using it for quite a while. However, something happened to my phone about 3 weeks ago. The right side and bottom of my screen has become totally unresponsive and since then, I really had trouble typing letters like 'p', 'l' and 'm', and also pressing space bar and enter. The bottom of my screen is occassionally okay, and I will sometimes be able to type space bar, comma and fullstop as per normal, but it is only sometimes. I have been putting up with it by tilting my phone whenever I type, but recently, I accidentally set a screen lock(password) and since the 'Done' button was at the bottom right of my phone, I am totally unable to press it at all. I tried tilting it, but it seem that the screen would not orientate at all, not before unlocking it. I used the Xperia phone companion on computer to factory reset my phone. Just as I thought that the problem was over, Xperia guide comes up and prevents me from using my phone. Since the 'next' button is located at the bottom right of my screen again, I am unable to press it at all. I tried tilting but it does not work at all and it seems impossible for me to use my phone now. Can someone please help me? Thanks in advance.
Its probably a hardware problem you must change the touchscreen by yourself or bring it so service center

I kept having issues with the stock keyboard... I couldn't get punctuation to kick in half the time on long press, and was getting doubled key presses instead. Someone suggested using swiftkey (I hadn't looked at in years!) and that works perfectly for me.
