hello to all
ok it seems that going/testing different roms the ring volume and bluetooth volume varies from rom to rom
is there a way to boost the ring and bluetooth volume with going to add ons .thanks
Try qpst. It's a program that will allow you to increase the ring volume and maybe Bluetooth too. Google is your best friend and savior

been there done that have them at 4 no change in volume
Well then it could be a hardware issue or a rom issue. You didn't specify what you had done to fix the problem either. Didn't you read the warning on the guide that pushing your volumes to 4 could ruin your speakers in the phone? You may have to live with that problem or go get it fixed. Sorry I couldn't help you.

is there a hack or program or w/e to increase the volume of the ringtone and the system in general. i work in a very noisy environment and its so hard to hear any incoming calls even at home so imagine at work... thank you.
anyone please?
Try this http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=41385
I use the low booster and it works fantastic for both normal ear piece use and also using my BT head set.
thank you very very much!
NP, Glad I could help....
I tried that file, and it trashed my phones ability to use the stock volume controls with the side buttons. Be careful, and make sure you back up.

I'm using that file and nothing has happened to my volume buttons. The only issues I have come across with my volume buttons had to do with the latest version of s2u2 (v1.35). I went down to v1.33 and regained function of my buttons again.
hi guys,
i love the samsung galaxy s2 phone, but i have a question.
Whilst using the phone, i end up accidently pressing the volume button and this can sometimes mean i put the "Notification" or "Ringer" volume really down.
I only want to be able to control such options by actually going into the Settings menu, so is there a way to disable this button or somehow change it's functionality?
BUMP!
Surely someone must have the answer?

I guess so nyssa, but many also still have their mobiles, watching this forum and are still replying to many questions on this forum.
Hey there. Have you even tried searching in the market? The very first app for "volume" query can do just that
Sent from outer space by aliens on tapatalk using SGS2
thanks aj rockwell. That app i believe only helps you adjust settings with volume. I actually want to Remap buttons, so that the volume button cannot adjust sounds other than "IN-CALL volume"
this is so annoying, I was going to open a thread with the some issue. Is any chanse, mod which can switch a default option when we press volume from ringer volume to media volume. many times by incident I turn ringer volume down and I dont hear a ringer.
@ x7 - Halleluyah! At last i find someone who has exactly the issue as myself.
Guys, all i want is some app that can disable the volume button from controlling the MEDIA's/NOTIFICATION's volume. The only way i want to control these is by actually going to SETTINGS>SOUND ...surely there must be an app that can REMAP the Volume key functions?
I agree, why Samsung did this think That you can change volume ringer by pressing a volumes button? This is so silly
Sent from Samsung Galaxy S 2 (80GB)
the only thing we can do x7 is hope that someone on here will know a fix for this volume issue.
I took a look in android market but I havent found anythink
I checked too, but could not find anything. The only one i have seen whilst searching on google, is Button Remapper. But there is no information to say that this app is safe for the SGS2.
Anyone? Help!
x7nofate mate, pls ignore the replies. I feel like such a twat now . It looks like AJ.Rockwell was right...i never properly tried the recommended app and was too quick to ignore it's features.
Download "Volume Control +" from android market and install it.
Once installed, set the volume for all the media/ring/notifications. Then simply goto the options where it allows you to lock each individual type of tone. So for example if you don't want to decrease your ringtone volume by accident, then select that.
Save your settings and you should have a little lock icon in your status bar.
Now when you put your volume for your ringtone down, it looks like its gone down again, right???? WRONG! Since Volume Control+ has locked it down, VC+ automatically forces it back to the "locked" settings. Genius!
Let me know how you get on mate!
PS: If you need any help or just wanna chat android, then PM me ur email and i'll add you to msn/yahoo/skype or whatever you use.
I installed a "Volume Control +" ages ago and I locked in settings but I can put my volume ringtone down anyway so I thought that it doesn't work but I was wrong. It works, thank you very much
Bump! I searched XDA on Google for this exact thread, my problem too. My question is, with that apps reccommendation (thanks for that), does it still bring up the volume OSD? That's my major annoyance, and something that happens to people whenever I pass my phone over to them.

Hi,
I searched for this and can't find anything on it. Was wondering if anyone else has experienced a similar problem.
When using the FM radio the range of volume that the volume slider/buttons controls isn't always the same. Sometime when a message comes in and a notification plays the volume will jump up. I've tried to use the sound controls in settings to replicate this but it won't do it.
Co-incidentally, receiving messages while the radio is on also sometimes results in the tuned frequency to change :-S

This sounds like a software conflict seen this on the mini pro many times.
some apps or rom features change the volume when notifications come in... this screws with other settings put into place by other apps.
There should be "hopefully" a setting to disable this volume change in the rom.
Also please post in Q&A for future questions. Thanks
Everytime I use Poweramp and, for instance, start using the browser, eventually it turns off. I've tried playing with the settings but didn't have any luck. Is anyone having this problem or knows a solution for this?
Another niggle I'm having is related to the volume rocker being unable to change music in longpress.
Thanks in advance.
Settings, Audio Engine, Advanced Tweaks - Enable Keep Service and Audio Thread Priority too 2.
Never had that problem before with these settings..
As for volume rocker changing songs.. Volume Rocker only changes the volume afaik
My name is Optimus Prime and I send this message..
Thank you so much, the audio thread priority did the trick for me
As for the volume rocker, I used to be able to change track on my old HTC hero. Very useful when I was driving. Anyway, it's just a minor annoyance.

On the Sammy's they only change volume, though give it a couple of months and someone will have come up with a mod to enable long press to change track (just as they did on the S II).

Unfortunately, I'm also having problems again. Strangely enough, it seemed to work for a certain amount of days, guess I wasn't running that many apps aside from the browser and poweramp, so it didn't trigger this behavior.
Meanwhile I changed from stock rom to Omega 6.0, but it shouldn't it have anything to do with the problem, right?
Excuse me for being a noob....
But i just wanted to clarify an issue ive seen in JB roms.
One the volume for headset is not that high...
Second the media volume does not increase incrementally ... even in the volume rocker as it is displayed... i think it stays at max 60%
Is this an issue with all JB roms???
i tried searching the forums but did not get an answer. and why is it that ICS roms sound better with Headphones than JB roms?
Pls Help

if u use 'Siyah or Dorimanx' kernel's then U can boost ur head phone volume thro 'Xtweak' app
When I played music with Poweramp (I have DVC enabled), the problem fixed temporarily.
It's known issue in CM10, nothing to worry about.
If the volume rocker is like this:
|-------O____|
and above, then it's 100%.
I can't vouch for JB but I am on ICS with CM9 and found that headphone volume was poor, I downloaded an app called 'Voodoo LOUDER' which allows you to increase the volume slightly, you need to be rooted but it was worth every penny
