Hi Guys,
Terrible newbie question here; I have searched briefly but haven't found an answer.
Is Android 2.3.6 available for the Galaxy S2? I'm still on 2.3.3 and am bored of waiting for OTA updates.
I've seen that there is a 2.3.5 ROM available here on these forums but don't see the point in upgrading to that now then 2.3.6 is out...
Can anyone help me with my question for up-to-dateness?
Thanks.
2.3.4 just released today in some Nordic countries, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1269607. Then 2.3.5, 2.3.6...
So why did you search about 2.3.6? Update to 2.3.4 first!

I was just going by Wikipedia which says the current Android version is 2.3.6....
Is there any indication from Samsung when they'll be pushing out 2.3.4 to the UK devices?
I would love to get a basic installation really without all of the Samsung crap on it. :\

Actually the current Android version is 2.3.7 for NFC capable devices, stop thinking about official 2.3.6, they barely launched official 2.3.4 for northern europe.
I'm in Spain southern Europe and still no 2.3.4. But I have had a few 2.3.3 updates which is fine by me. I love this phone.

Nope, european version doesn't have NFC, only korean and an american version if i'm not mistaking.
Just for future references, Google releases new Android OS versions, it first shows up in Nexus Phones. Then, manufacturers need to get the lastest OS to build their new ROM around it with their own skin/theme. This typically takes couple months and then a new ROM leaked or released. So, typically you will see a new Samsung ROM about 6 months later. You can't download or install Android OS directly. You have to wait for OEM to built it.

Yahhh ??? ... when I read about SGS2 Cyanogenmod 7.1 "stable" version ... many reports about bug here and there!!!
So for me latest official SGS2 ROM is really stable and I'm happy about TouchWiz
But ... when Samsung stops supporting SGS2 I will get a "phone after live" using Cyanogenmod for sure
2.3.7..

Right now I'm on KI8 2.3.5 Sammy stock and happycat hopping to Oxygen AOSP 2.3.7 every now and then (but mostly 'cause it's pretty vanilla AOSP, I like that, but still won't miss the Sammy extras).

The CM nightlies are more stable than the 'stable version'.
Hi guys,
I have a big problem with my i9100 galaxy s2: I can not record video! Basically when I press the red button to record I get the loading icon for a while and then I get a warning that says: Reg. failed.
The rom is ICS I9100XXLPQ 4.0.3 (build version IML74K.XXLPQ)
Has anyone had the same problem and / or knows how to fix it?
Thanks in advance!
U could try camera ics from play store.

Thanks for reply...but it's not the solution.
I think it was a camera firmware problem: I had camera firmware version ONEF01 and phone firmware version TBEC28.
I have downgraded camera firmware version to TBEC28 and it works now either in photo and video mode, but now I've focus issue. DAMN!
Hi guys,
I'm sorry before.
I've updated my XMP to ICS 4.0.4. I think the UI of ICS is not as good as GB.
- SMS (GB is more like crystal-clear, ICS just a solid color)
- detail contact (just flat view, very different with GB)
And there are many apps that crash (unfortunately closed) or not responding. I often pull out my battery to restart my phone.
When i set date and time, after i select date/time then click set, it always not responding.
Soooooo .... I decide to reverse it back to Gingerbread 2.3.4 :crying:
Is there any firmware of ICS that solve my problems above? or i should just wait the official update from SONY?
just sharing with you guys ..
Thanks.
Which Rom did u use?
I think not because this problem is to ta related to compatibility of APIs app that still exist are not built to run on ICS. Bug on the time I do not know. But I see that ICS is not being high wattage. Because it causes the power consumption of application and hardware.
Official ROM
I update my mini pro with official ICS from Sony with SEUS.

I think its the best ROM available.
Believe me its good.
After installing just try face unlock option that's the only thing missing in that ROM.
Hi all.
I am trying to update my touch buttons firmware, due the fact I am not satisfied with my "back" button responsiveness.
I know the code that should bring me to the update screen ( *#*#2663#*#* ) , but in CM9 ROM , it does nothing.
In my friend's SGS2 , which runs stock Android 4 ROM, update screen appears as expected.
The question is, which files do I have to pull from stock and push to CM9 , in order to get that update screen working?
Thank you in advance!

In Aosp based ROMs, Samsung Service codes does not and will not work. So don't disturb yourself
The only codes that work are for Service mode and Engineering Mode. Any other code will not work.
If you care so much about this code, just flash a stock based ROM, or live with it.
Hello
I recently recieved my themer beta code.
But I have been unable to use it since themer does not seem to be available for my phone (the LG optimus 2x P990.)
I am using the Jelly Cream rom with kowalski kernel.
I have tried installing themer using an apk but then I get a parsing error.

I think your ROM is based off of 4.1 right? (That ROM thread didn't really say anything about what version of Jelly Bean it was based off of). A parsing error can be caused by attempting to install an app made for a newer android version. Not sure about this, but there might be different versions of the themer app for the different jelly bean versions, and you might have one for 4.3 or 4.2 which won't work on 4.1. I don't have an android device with 4.1 (Only 4.0 and 4.3), so I can't really help you there but maybe someone else can.
