Hello
I recently recieved my themer beta code.
But I have been unable to use it since themer does not seem to be available for my phone (the LG optimus 2x P990.)
I am using the Jelly Cream rom with kowalski kernel.
I have tried installing themer using an apk but then I get a parsing error.

I think your ROM is based off of 4.1 right? (That ROM thread didn't really say anything about what version of Jelly Bean it was based off of). A parsing error can be caused by attempting to install an app made for a newer android version. Not sure about this, but there might be different versions of the themer app for the different jelly bean versions, and you might have one for 4.3 or 4.2 which won't work on 4.1. I don't have an android device with 4.1 (Only 4.0 and 4.3), so I can't really help you there but maybe someone else can.

Ok...I am really REALLY new to all of this. IF you put a custom Honeycomb ROM (CM7 is Honeycomb right?) onto a tablet, will it then run apps that are designed for Honeycomb tablets?

Cm7 is 2.3.7 gingerbread and apps working anyway.
Most.

The ROM is the same android OS but customized regardless of the android version (honeycomb, gingerbread, etc).
Different ROMs could have the same Android version. Major ROMs like CM are updated by their Developers when a new android OS is available.
Apps work mostly on any ROM, unless a certain app doesn't work on a certain Android OS version.
I hope I could answer your question.

Sort of....I guess I should break it down a little. There is a Words With Friends App that is made specifically for Honeycomb and because of that I can't even put it on my tablet which runs Froyo (parsing error). If I install a custom ROM or ported ROM like CM9, will it allow me to be able to install it?
CM9 is Ice Cream Sandwich I believe... It might run your app.
Go to the app page on the market and see if anyone is complaining about it not working with ICS... If not, you're good to go.
CM8 was supposed to be Honeycomb, but didn't happen because Google didn't release the source code for Honeycomb. If you find a Honeycomb ROM specific for your tablet, then that answers your question. Otherwise you might have to wait till an ICS ROM is developed for your tablet.
Hey Guys
I wanted to know as a noob that my HTC One V came with Android 4.0.4 and i want to port 2.3 on it is it possible??? and if yes plz give a link to the tutorial
Thankz
Ofcourse it's possible!
But not for a guy who thinks porting an older Android version then shipped with the device...
You should build from source for newer versions too. Those should be easier for you.

i absolutely agree with u dude but i am quite fond of sense 3.0 and it cannot be ported with ics i guess
Oh you want 2.3 with Sense?!
No, that would be near impossible...

y???
Well you can't build Sense from source.
So the only possible solution would be a binary port, wich ALWAYS causes bugs.
Also, you would be forced to port it from an older device (so with older binaries) because Sense 3.0 is now history.
Sorry, but I wouldn't do something like this. The easiest thing would be to port just the Sense 3.0 theme.

ya u r right!!!
im in 4.2.1 at the moment and I notice that this firmware is not getting much ROM and kernel support as compared to 4.1.2...
like Inked screen, multiwindow, Gallery and Task Manager mods..
dont forget Paranoid Android...
so what exactly is the future? (or upper hand) 4.2.1 or 4.1.2
4.2 is custom like supernexus, no 4.2 stock version for our device yet.

4.2 is custom at the moment where as 4.1.2 was just released officially.
You will find much more support for 4.1.2 for that reason alone, being that there is a higher chance people will be on this firmware.
You can run modded deviations, run stock 4.1.2 or stock based firmwares as well..
If you want those features you are better off going to 4.1.2, i tried 4.2.1 but ended up going back to 4.1.2 because i wanted those features
I'm interested in having a pure Android experience on my One X+ but I have no idea where to find a 4.2.2 ROM for it.
Any help is appreciated.
Cheers,
Mauro
If it's AOSP for the AT&T/Telsus variant, there's nothing currently available, well not that's fully functional. But if you have an international phone, then such ROMs would be found in the original one x+ development section.
It is the AT&T version. So,there's nothing currently available for that version? How about an earlier version on Android, like 4.2.1? More than having 4.2.2 I am desperate to remove Sense from the phone.
Thank you
M
wifi error with venom / viper whatever 2.0.0 sorry its hard
bumpity I am having trouble with wifi using venom 2.0.0 just says Error.
This is not the thread to be asking questions regarding venom issues. There are threads here in the Q&A section please ask the question in one of those threads.

NOthing for the ATT device right now, unless you can go without making phone calls? then there's either CM 10.1 or PA both with the known issue of no voice calls
Driver Issue

To the best of my understanding, both 4.1.2 and 4.2.2 ROMS have an audio driver problem (no need to go into that here, check the ATT CM10.1 and PA forums)...several devs have been working on this for a while. All want to delegate this to Lloir.
I suggest we all try to help Lloir get a new ATT HOX+ so he can tackle this again. I'm interested in CM 10.1 AND his Ubuntu Touch OS work.
Hi,
I want to help my friend by updating his Streak 5 to Jelly bean.It is currently running stock Froyo, Can anybody point me to right direction how can i start with it or give references to important threads. Thanks.
P.S I successfully rooted my Huwaei Mi 410 phone to Jelly Bean, and now my friend wants a taste of Jelly Bean too. Thanks. :good:
We haven't even got a fully functional ICS ROM and you want Jellybean?
*laughs*
Our developers have to get ICS working first before we can even think of porting Jellybean. It's not easy, because certain drivers are missing their sources and Dell cannot release them.
You may not be able to get ICS or JB, but you can get GB 2.33 from the Olleh ROM.
It works well enough.
Peace
The Olleh ROM has a lot of issues that were fixed in the DSC ROMs based off it. So I'd install a DSC ROM instead of Olleh.
