I'm running GNU/Linux Debian on my Active, but Ubuntu is basically the same.

It's not that hard to install, but you'll have to chose how to install it depending on the purpose of the Ubuntu installation. Look at the link in my signature for a tutorial. If you don't need the full integration Android/GnuLinux it describes, you can stop when you've reached the step you are running Ubuntu in the chroot environment. It is safer to run Ubuntu in chroot, but more powerful to run the Andorid in chroot. Read my howto, and you'll understand.

thanks i try your tutorial

Note that for the simple solution (no integration, GNU/Linux in chroot), you only (almost) have to read the "Creating the Debian root file system" part of the tutorial. This is enough to run GNU/Linux, but without any control over the Android environment using it.

Java For W7 64-Bit (Guide doesn't work)

I have W7 Ultimate 64 bit and Java does not work for me anymore. I did follow the stickied guide which used to work but now that I did a factory reset on my comp, it doesn't work anymore. Java doesn't seem to be running (Not in taskbar nor process list). This is what I have in the control panel

Actually, the guide creator just confirmed that it only works for v20 of Java which does not exist anymore... So until he updates his guide or someone finds the older of Java than it probably wont work..

[Q] SDK Manager won't load for ADB

I have SDK Manager installed and I know it was working when I rooted. My guess is SDK Manager won't load now because I'm using 2.3.4 software on my phone and need to upgrade SDK Manager to that same version per say. I've gone to the following website: http://developer.android.com/sdk/android-2.3.4.html and it says I need to install SDK again and it prompts me to install Java SE but I don't see my windows version of XP Professional 32 Bit. Bottom line, how can I get my ADB running again.

My goal is to ADB push these files: htc_pin_asset_rest.png and htc_pin_asset_pressed.png to my phone which are the dialer png's. Any help would be great.
Here's a preview on dialer buttons I'm trying to push.
Isn't Windows x86 the same as a 32-bit Windows operating system? The files listed don't seem to care if its XP, Vista, or 7.

This is not a new root method, just a collection of scripts and an interface for organizing them. Based on the posted screenshots, the only root methods it includes are zerg rush and Motofail, both of which are known not to work against firmware version 4.5.629.
The only known method for rooting 4.5.629 is detailed in this thread.
cannot download and try if the link doesn't work :/

It's working here and I have to say: Wow!!! Blazing fast...1000x better then any android VM I've tried before. ?
BUT: I can't get any video player to work here (with exception of youtube)...even google play is not working for me.
Is there anything I can do to get videos working.
EDIT: G+ is also not working.

is 64 bits android migration possible?

Hi everyone,
I am a Pokemon Go player frustrated by the news that this will stop supporting 32-bit systems soon.
In my case I have a Samsung J7 Neo SM-J701M cell phone that has 64-bit CPU but Android 32 firmware.
Is it possible to update it to make the game work?
I would appreciate comments about it!
Thanks a lot...

I see a lot of these request on the forum these days. Going to 64-bit with your device may be really hard, since to develop the 64-bits ROM you need the right drivers for the SoC (system on chip). Samsung has them but they wouldn't earn anything updating any of their actual devices to 64-bits. It's way better for them to make you buy a new device.
Have a good day tho
