In developer options, background process limit I always marked 3 processes at most, but every time I reboot it changes to standard limit. I flashed the australian firmware, but I tried the french one and it happened the same thing.
Any idea to get the option I want marked?
Can someone confirm it happens the same to him?
Thanks
Idk why,what i know is that you should post this into Q&A topic not here,so next question post there.Anyway it happened to me.It will always do that after reboot.Btw why do you want 3 processes,why don't you let your android to be free?

Is there any app ( like reQALL, which isn't that user friendly) in which I can send reminders to my friend ( of course if they've installed the same app ) .
e.g: If I've to remind him to call some one at a particular time
I'm using the good old method now, Saving reminder in my mobile and calling him to check with that person
I think I 've asked this question at wrong time.
Looks like i've asked this question at the wrong time where in every one ( including me ) were closely tracking ICS instead of the forum
I'm surprised
I'm surprised to see no replies from XDA . I really thought I will get some answer
Ummm, send a text message. If you need, there are apps that allow you to type a message and have it sent at a particular time.
I'm a bit confused about why you would need an app for this? Can your friend not make a note/calendar entry/alarm for themselves?

Thanks for the reply Jane. Say Suppose if I want to send it to a group of people ( with Android phone and the app installed in all their mobiles), where in I set an appointment and send it to all of them , a notification pops up whether you want to update your calendar Yes/No . Clicking a Yes makes an entry in his mobile? some thing on this line.
And to answer your other question, Yes he can set a alarm /reminder as well. All the Apps are the just Ideas of making things easy isn't it?
Replying again to push my thread up , Really sorry for the spam I just want the thread to be seen by developer who knows about this .
Suggestion:
Make a Google account, let your friend(s) to sign in. Once you set reminder, everyone will get.
A yay for you?

Thanks for the replies.
I thought I will get some real answers, instead all I've got was workarounds and suggestions. thanks for that anyways.
I will Keep the thread alive for one more day and I will close it, i don't want to spam .
I think this is one kinda app which is not in existence, Developers can take this idea and they can build one if they want it
Here are 3 possible solutions to fix fast dormancy (FD) bug on Stock 2.3.3 ROMs. This isn't tested yet (needs testing). If anybody use this fix, please give credit and press the Thanks button!
1st solution
Open dialer
Type *#9900#
Select disable
2nd solution
Open buid.prop
Add this line to the end
Code:
ro.ril.fast.dormancy.rule=0
3rd solution
Open Dialer
Type *#*#9900#*#*
Thanks man i needed

Fast Dormancy drains too much battery, its better switched off.
I tested 3G with and without it, and found no difference.
FYI : the dialer code is universal, works on all ROMS ;tested on CM7 nightlies
And if you can turn it off with a built-in feature, ot's not a bug
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2 Beta-5
Why post it without testing? I can say for sure that at least #2 doesn't work, because I tried it long ago.
Can somebody using one of the affected ROMs (V20A/B/C/D/E/F/G/H) test it? I'm not using one of these ROMs (I'm on V20I), so I can't test it.
I honestly believe #1 and #3 won't work either, but I hope to hear the contrary from anyone who test it.
P.S.: Just to remember, the bug is triggered after you turn off mobile data.
Kid wants credit for a "solution" that he don't knows if it works *sigh*

That one is pretty neatly explained.
But, I'm pretty sure the OP saw 'his' method from either of the following links, both of which are related to the Galaxy SII :
-> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1111581
-> http://www.ctrlplusz.com/2011/07/disable-fast-dormancy-improve-battery-life-on-the-galaxy-s-ii/
@OP
The aforementioned second method is not working, confirmed.
The 1st and last are working, as I said before, they can be applied universally.
EDIT : I had this thread reported as it has no connection whatsoever with Android Development.
Also, Fast Dormancy is NOT a bug. Its a feature.
Why is everybody flaming? I am trying to post a solution for battery drain because i see so many people crying "please use v20i...plz...plz" so this is for them...and if you don't have anything helpful, please cease from posting.
@Lycan
FD obviously is a feature.
But on stock ROM GB, it makes the phone always awake, so this is the bug we are refering to.
Also, by your post, I suppose you are on CM 7.2.
CM has no problem with it.
The solutions is meant for stock ROMs.
@OP
I have something helpful to post.
#1 and #2 doesn't work on stock ROM for sure (tested).
And sorry, but I do think you should check before throwing blindly any mention of FD you find on internet (that aren't even for our device).
"That is not helpful also", since you claim a post has to be it (and I agree).
Can somebody say anything about #3?

When I type the first code it says incorrect code or no connection and when I type the second one, it disappears instantly from my dialer

Agreed. Code doesn't work. Using stock v20d. Time for me to upgrade
Hi all. I've been following XDA for a long time. But since i am more into the hardware i need some help with the software.
I ordered a Bedove I5 from Uredeal.com . And i am not sure if the chinese have put some code in it which make all the things that goes over the internet is send trought there servers.
Whenever i open a chat (whatsapp, fb messenger etc.) and send something. It has a time stamp of 6 hours later. And messages i receive have a normal time stamp. This also happens with multiplayer games like wordfeud. an active game says for 6 hours long that its 0 seconds ago i made a move. and after 6 hours its going to count. I even got an email from google that someone in china tried to login to my account but they blocked it. I want to use my mobile also for mobile banking but with this in my mind its just not save and i dont want to take the risk.
If i manage to make a back-up from my rom, can someone take a look at it and if possible fix it for me (clean up my rom)?
I thank the person(s) that are willing to help me in advanced.
If someone knows a link to a clean rom for my device. Feel free to post.
Edit: I couldnt find one by myself.

IMO, its more likely a poorly written ROM than spying going on. Either way I'd steer away from Chinese imports. It's not worth it. Spend a bit more for a real phone.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
How can you comfirm that? It can be both ways. But since i use this phone people out of china try to get on my gmail acc. So by this i think your argument false.
And the quality of chinese phones are getting higher and higher. I have totally no negative points about the phone. Its a good product. It doesnt even freeze which i see at most smartphone models. Everything workes good as it should be. No wifi or connectivity problems.
Ill try to root it and make a backup so people can look at it. And confirm if its a bad rom or spying. My feeling says spying.
There are some apps on it with the title in chinese. Cant delete them without root and dont know if they contain system information or the information they send everyting to...

Have you tried to do a factory reset?

I managed to make a back-up with mtkdroidtools. The funny thing is. When i finished the back-up. I saw a function in mtkdroidtools named "remove china". I tried that button with the temp root. and it removed all the chinese apps that where in the root of the phone and that the time and everything else is ok now.
I cant place the link to the back-up since i got less then 10 posts. I can private message it to someone who can post the link to here.

I can't post directly to the Venom site since I don't have 10 posts so I'll post it here.
I ended up downgrading back to Venom 2.5 because there appears to be an issue with other programs being able to send SMS messages. The question was posted here but appears to have been overlooked. While noticeable for Tasker, it also poses a problem for Pebble users as well as Google Glass (don't know if anyone else uses these but if a dev needs help testing with these two devices I'd be glad to). I'm not sure where the coding issue is but given the applications it's affecting I'd presume it's somewhere in the passing of the information through the broadcast. Please note that I've tried using different default SMS app and it did not make a difference.
Please let me know if I can help in any way for this (I can provide tasker and pebble logs)
You probably sshould just send a direct message to the dev. Making a thread isn't going to do anything.

It's hard to address your question properly because you didn't provide any meaningful amount of information, in particular what TWRP and firmware versions you are using? You only left us a brief summary and didn't give any detailed description of your situation.
I saw your post several weeks ago, but went on to help someone else instead because of the crucial missing information.
Also, you can't have done much of a search (any search?) to see if your question had already asked and answered or you would have found this.
The relevant posts are mid thread where the recent encryption changes in Android and how TWRP is handling them are discussed. This will pertain to you vis a vis whether your version of TWRP support encryption or not.

I didn't know if it was twrp or some other issue. I'm not a programmer or developer.
I did search Google, but I didn't search xda because I'm using the app. Thank you for the information.

I'd be happy if the information helps solve your encryption issue.
As to your other comments, it doesn't matter whether you knew if it was a TWRP or other issue. Nor do you need to be a programmer or developer. It's just common sense that you need to provide abundant detail if you have any realistic expectation of effective help.
I have no idea what your profession or hobbies might be. But for a simple analogy, take a failed pie recipe. If you say, awww, my pie didn't turn out properly - and you would like help fixing that, rather than just sympathy.. then don't you need to provide details for someone to easily help you?
How could anyone help you without knowing something about the recipe or how you went about baking the pie? Without information, the best you could hope for is random guesses. You don't need to be a programmer or developer to know that abundant details would greatly increase your chances of being helped.
And almost any combination of keywords on Google would have located the TWRP support forum. And any search with both encryption and TWRP in the search finds the recent thread that I linked you to.
.
It's funny I've searched this site and scoured google, but I haven't seen a whole lot of info about issues encountered during the device encryption process. I've read that it slows the device down, but this was said about devices other and the S5...I've also heard that when encrypting, the screen goes black after a few seconds of the green android, which is the issue I've encountered....but, again, this was regarding a different device. It was in my search that I found this stale thread. Has anyone elkse had this problem?
Android is still running, there's a blue led on and my computer sees storage, but the screen stays black and doesn't respond to any keypresses. I've got twrp 286 and deviant's rom with the ob1 bl and modem/kernel. Next I tried it with a stock room, the only change I made before trying was installing twrp and reacquiring root after setting back to factory image via odin. I went in knowing that nandroids would be a problem after encryption because twrp wouldn't be able to unencrypt, but it shouldn't affect the actual encryption process or the device once unencrypting by entering the password at boot. Anyway,, I have been sitting waiting for 2 hours now and the blue led is on but nothing else.
Has anyone else had this happen to them? Any workarounds?
Thanks guys!
