I installed a rom that rooted my phone and made it s-off a long time ago, and now that ICS is out OTA I would like to flash back to the stock rom, unrooted, with s-on to get the OTA ics update from verizon. Problem being is I cant find it anywhere, can you guys help me out? Maybe also a short guide on what to do because I've forgotten basically everything you have to do.
Are you sure you're s off? Did you do the s off process with the wire trick?

Have you installed Amon Ra recovery? If so, use that and make a Nandroid backup. if not see below for some basic reading you should do first.

Pull battery put back in, hold volume down+power choose recovery from the bootloader, it should say at the bottom of recovery screen.. amon. Ra-vigor-getitnowmarketing..blahblah something or other.. CWM will have a Lil bowler hat pic. And TWRP will have touch screen interface..

This will not work if you used the HTC Bootloader unlock tool. Your device must be fully stock with a locked bootloader or you must have S-Off
This is what i came across when i clicked on the link. for me. my bootloader is unlocked and mine is S-on. what am i suppose to do. i also want to go back to the original verizon stock. . i do see the amonRa 3.15. do i use this in hasoon toolkit??? also which heading do i click on???
1.install htc drivers
2.register at htcdev
3.get token ID
4.submit token ID
5.unlock bootloader
which one of these do i click on if any???

This is the OTA. It is in RUU format minus the RUU. So just extract from zip, move to sd and flash in HBOOT.

If i downgrade hboot and i do root and recovery, when ics will be released i'll be able to update to it (FOTA)? Of course i'll go back to stock by RUU.exe

In all honesty, you can stay on stock, but there will be rooted version's, rom's which you'll want which will make the stock one look a bit naff, plus you won't be able to use apps like titanium and adfree etc.
Personally i'd never go with a stock rom, unless i had to. i'd probably get rid of my phone if i had to stay on stock.
I only want to know if i'll be able to update or no to ics >.<

Mmmm... but it's the same if i unlock now right?! So i unlock now and when ics is released i'll get back to stock Right?
Just make a nandroid of the stock rom once you have recovery cwm and then you can simply 'superwipe' and restore, then just ota update.
I never even used the htc_unlock site because I had a cid_001 phone.
But first i have to downgrade the bootloader. i have done it. It have changed my android version now i'm updating by ota to lastest firmware. And then i s-off and install recovery and do a nandroidbackup right? Answer yes or no.

A stock ICS rooted ROM will more than likely be up within 24 hr of it rolling, which is probably before most people get it naturally anyway.

You'll have to lock your bootloader to update, and you'll lose root, but you just have to re-root in Amon Ra, no biggie, but if your current firmware is fine, I don't see any point upgrading, because they're pretty much the same

The amon ra root method no longer works with ICS. I'm actually trying to get my root back as of now and still no luck with many methods.

I guess I'm not understanding the problems people are having. If you have AmonRa installed, why couldn't you just install a rooted rom?

I used SuperSu and it worked fine, I rooted on .10 ICS leak with Hassoon (prob misspelled it sry) AIO toolkit just hit Root button once you have Amon installed which it can do as well two buttons and you should have root, superRS will flash in recovery its already preinstalled in toolkit.

I'm not getting it either. Seems like people are going to an awful lot of trouble to go from pretty decent ICS ROMs back to basically the same thing - os version, kernel, firmware, radios. What's so great about the official release compared to the latest leaks?
Hello All,

Attached are screen shots of what I am showing.
Thanks for any information!

I just wanted to make sure i was all up to date. I was getting confused with all the talk about flashing the leaked kernel, RUU, and firmware. Wasn't sure which to flash do i picked the RUU. Guess that was the correct one!

once you are s-off it doesnt matter the state of hboot being locked vs unlocked. BUT if you want to do fastboot commands with ADB you will need to have an unlocked hboot OR and engineering hboot.

hello guys i am s-on...have unlocked the bootloader(i know how to re-lock) and running buisness sense 4 rom....in juopunutbear guide said that i have to be fully stock...can i revert so i can proceed with s-off!
i have used awesomerecoverytoolv2 and have created and PH98IMG of latest official global ruu..if i relock bootloader and flash this will work?i am not doing it as i will wait some proper answer..the phone is new and don't want to damage it
Run a 3.14.605.12 RUU. You will then be on the OTA firmware and rom. The Global isn't official btw. Shouldn't had to unlock your bootloader in the first place.
i am downloading now...i just have to put the PH98IMG.zip and run it on the hboot...and then i will revert to stock?

Yup. If you need your full hboot commands back reflash the 2.25.2525 JB hboot after the RUU. If you want COMPLETELY BONE STOCK keep the stock hboot and s-on. Keep in mind you will want to backup your internal sd as I am pretty sure it will be wiped.

Misread your OP a touch, thought you were already s-off. .Since you have already obtained and flashed the Global leak all you need is a deodexed & rooted 3.14.605.1x rom & the JB S-off 2.25 installer. PM Izzaeroth for a download link for the rom.
