[TOOL][SCRIPT] SDfy - Swap your real SD card and Internal memory - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

[SDfy v1.0] for rooted XPERIA SOLA (Stock ICS)
Run this batch file to swap SD card (ext_card - Real SD card) and Internal memory (sdcard - Internal 4 GB SD card) storage locations.
How to use this?
I assume you have already set 'adb' in path and rooted the phone using Bin4ry's script.
1. Download the attached file [SDfy.zip for Windows users and SDfy_Linux.zip for Linux or Mac users]
2. Extract the zip file.
3. Click on SDfy.bat script if you are on Windows, If you are on Linux run SDfy.sh from Terminal.
4. Move apps if you need to move existing apps to the new location (Real SD card).
With MTP set as transfer mode you will be able to use both storage locations from PC.
Why I made this?
I have lots of data (maps, games and apps) on my 32 GB SD card which will not fit on the internal SD card. Using my real SD card is essential for me so that I can make real use of my phone.
Installing prerequisites
1. Install 'adb' using instructions from here. You only need to install 'adb' and not the whole Android SDK if you are not an Android developer.
2. If you are sure you have proper root access then check if a latest version of busybox (now v1.20) is installed. Create links for 'mount', 'umount' commands in the advanced install section.
Install Busybox using Busybox Installer by JRummy Apps.
3. If you face any errors with 'choice' command on your Windows machine please download it from here. Place this file in '\Windows\System32' folder.
What are the limitations?
- No known limitations as of now
Hope some of you will find this useful.
Enjoy!

uh oh.. i think i got the same problem.. it worked earlier this morning.. err.. the process seems to worked fine but when i checked my sdcard.. it seems like nothing happened or change.. what steps did you do?
where is this android sdk folder? is it in your phone? or your pc?

Does this work only for sola or also for Go/Acro S/Ion/Tipo ?

I use "directory bind" app for large sd datas.....i think we can do this for maps also i have not tried.....its simple.....we have to emulate the path(the original path it has to be and your ext sd location where the data is).....thats all....give try....

still no luck.. i don't know what happened..

I have no idea how they are partitioned because I do not have those phones. If you can send me 'vold.fstab' file from them, I can check and update the script to support them if possible but again I won't be able to test them.
If any one needs a *nix version let me know.

It just swaps the existing mount points for sdcard and ext_card using fstab settings from a stock firmware.
Settings->Storage should reflect the size changes after you SDfy and reboot. When you run Un-SDfy the settings are swapped again and goes back to stock fstab.
Did you see any errors? Any logs or screenshots I can look at?

Isn't root explorer just like every other file explorer? Why do more people use it and is always on tutorials?
if you need to edit system files with root aceess .. mount system as r/w , remove bloats ..in short advanced tasks .....you need it ...
if you haven't even rooted or don't want to touch system leave it
Because its fast, clean and you can use ROOT

Restarted... Wiped cache, wiped davik cache, still no go. Used Nandroid to restore to a prior ROM I was using (Cog x2). Now it works. Found out that write protection on the SD partition was set to S-ON. Had to restore to a different ROM to get it back online. Super user was not granting permission to Root Explorer with Stock deodexed rooted ROM. Strange. Anyway, maybe someone else will come across this same issue and know that it is ROM related to write only partitions.
Thanks!

Unknown use of System Storage (Device Memory). Pics inside.

So I was trying to install an update to an app and then it said that I didn't have enough space?!?! I don't have a lot of apps and I don't have anything special on my phone. But somehow I'm running out of System Storage (Device Memory) space?!?!
Attached are some screenshots. I've been trying to find how to view the system storage contents or find its path but haven't found anything useful. What is going on with my storage? What is using so much space?
Thanks!

Could be a wifi dump file... but I was under the impression that was an issue isolated to a specific firmware release on I9100G model phones only. And your screenshots look like ICS... (which is not available on G model phones yet)
What model phone do you have, and what version of firmware or ROM are you running?
Thanks for your reply. I have a GT-I9100 and am running ICS 4.0.3 XXLPB.

Hmm... do you have root? It may be worth checking to see if you have a file named something like "dumpstate_sys_WIFI_OFF_xxxxxxxxx_error.log.txt" that's pretty big in your /data folder.
Checked my phone, Applications take up only 158 MB.
You probably have some heavy games/multimedia applications installed. Otherwise, I cannot understand how your Applications take up 434 MB. (But even Google Play application size is limited by 50 MB) +To that, additional data storage by these applications, and it is sufficient to fill up your phone.
Perhaps, you should try to install/move some of your programs to SDCard.
If you have root and busybox, from terminal,
"cd /data"
"du -hs *"
will display disk usage by files/folders. find which files/folders use most storage, report here.

Yes, it's safe. It's just a log file. In fact, the workaround to "fix" this issue essentially keeps this file from being created.

See this thread (post 10, specifically) for the "workaround" to keep the file from being generated in the first place.
It's not my solution, I'm just linking to it.
"32K com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup
32K flixster"
straight from Terminal. That's all there is in the data folder. I checked in Finder too...
Using an app to sort things by size, the biggest thing is a ClockWorkMod backup but that's over 2 GB so I assume that's not in the Device Memory/System Storage place. Anyways here's the path:
"/clockworkmod/backup/2012-05-05.12.04.32/data.ext4.tar" 1.69 GB and
"/clockworkmod/backup/2012-05-05.12.04.32/system.ext4.tar" 467 MB
The next biggest culprit is:
"/DCIM/.thumbnails/.thumbdata3--1967290299" which is a whopping 274 MB.
Thanks again for all your replies.

That looks like you're looking in the wrong data folder. If you're going through the "My Files" app, then the data folder you looked in was actually /sdcard/data. Which is not the same as /data.
Are you rooted? You need root access to browse the /data folder, and you'll need a different file explorer than "My Files", like Root Explorer.

Again, these are children of the /sdcard folder. Which is on a separate partition from the "system storage". So you are not looking in the right place. I'm betting you're not rooted, either.
Yes, I am rooted (little yellow hazard sign at boot up and CWM and Superuser Apps).
I don't know how to access the system storage partition then... I'm certainly no pro in the Android world though...

Well, do you have "Root Explorer", (paid) or "ES File Explorer" (free)? Get one of those, navigate to /data, sort by size. (if you use ES File Explorer, you'll have to enable going up to the root folder, and enable root browsing) See if you've got a wifi dump file.
BTW, the "little yellow hazard sign at boot up" doesn't necessarily mean you have root. That just means you have flashed a kernel (via Odin) that was not signed by Samsung. More often than not, this is a kernel that roots your phone, or is used to root your phone, but not necessarily.
Thanks again ctomgee. Apparently no wifi dump file on /data... Sigh...

Well, do what mirbeksm suggested in post 5... that should spit out disk usage of the /data folder ordered by files/folders, as he stated... post the results, or maybe you'll be able to figure it out after running.
I'm trying but can't quite figure out how to view the root folder from the computer (Mac to make things more complicated), it goes straight to /sdcard.

You can't run an adb shell from a mac?
I guess you could use a terminal emulator (there are several available from the play store) directly from the phone to start a shell, then type the commands from there. (you may have to do "su" first, if the prompt is a "$" instead of a "#")

Can't delete files from my external memory card through file explorer

I have tried a lot of custom Roms. I'm on Neat ROM Lite now. Not sure which ROM changed my file access permission settings to cause this problem but I'm not able to delete any files from my external memory card. I was able to delete when I was on stock rom. The other problem is for a few apps I get an error message which says can't install on usb/sd card. I have posted this in another thread
some time back but got no response. Some one please point me in the right direction.
This is what my file permission looks like.
PS: I am able to delete when my fone is connected to PC via USB. So I don't think it has anything to do with a faulty sd card.

Now, if you have init.d support, place it in /system/etc/init.d and reboot

Can't use the phone anymore

Hello, i need a huge help with my rooted Honor 5x.
Some months ago i rooted the phone by following a tutorial (here's the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/hono...-kiwi-t3305190) and everything went well. But after an update of the firmware the phone doesn't show any keyboard to digit the password and it doesn't recognize my fingerprint, so i can't access into it anymore, plus it said my SD card was damaged, but i tried it on a PC and the SD card doesn't show any damage.
I tried to plug in the phone to the PC through a usb cable but since i am unable to access into the phone to autorize the usb option, it doesn't let me do anything and i can't even see the folder to acess on the phone through PC.
The only things i can do with the phone is:
1. Open the TWRP main screen.
2. Open the Huawei eRecovery screen, but without being able to connect to the WI-FI and so without being able to try to recover the phone through it.
3. Open fastboot.
I also created already a thread in another section of the forum about it explaining my problem. (this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/gen...-rooted-huawei-honor-5x-t3522149#post70206132 )
As i said in that thread i am not an expert so i need a huge help on how can i recover my phone.
you have twrp installed right?? go on and download any custom rom and install.. you are set
ps:you should never update the phone directly after rooting..

There's a way to recover the phone directly with TWRP? Like uninstall it and go back to the original stock?
Also, the PC doesn't really recognize the phone normally, it doesn't show me any folder to the device and since i can't authorize the usb connection i can't do anything through computer. It only recognizes the phone if i try to use adb. I can't even download anything through the phone since it doesn't connect to the WI-Fi (i tried with the Huawei eRecovery tool to connect to the WI-FI, i don't know how to try a download through TWRP tho) .

I am not sure if it will recognize the SD card because as I said the phone says the SD is damaged, even tho I checked the card on the PC and everything is okay.

just do as i said, what if your phone cannot read your card? twrp could read it though
and do not worry, your phone is not dead untill you have access to your recovery and fastboot

Allcall Rio , need help

I recently bought this new chinese phone ( out from 3 months, android 7.0 ) but after many hours i still was not able to root this, tried all 1click junk and nothing worked, tried PC apps.. followed many guides, nothing worked.
I would like at least to install TWRP, but of course, device is not supported, and i dont know where to get proper IMG file for my phone.
any help would be appreciated.. thanks
Edit: Tried Mtk tools, since its a mt6580, it does detect phone but there are errors,
TotalBytesPerChunk Not Found. Set default Page/Spare=2048/64
Uknown rom structure, backup not possible

no way to root this??
Hi, I also just aquired the allcall rio.
Can you help me out with a few things,
1. does the back come off in order to reach the battery?
2. on a normal phone pressing the middle button normally gains you access into the app menu, for some reason i can only access the home screen with the apps being accessed by sliding the home screen to multi home screens, is this normal?
3. have you rooted your phone and if so can you leadme to where you done this?
I like the phone, just wondering whether what iv stated are normal features or a fault with mine
Thanks in advance for any help / info
Cheers
Rooted / ish

Hey,
I have not found a root method but iv found a way to access all sysytem files and folders.
Go to app store and download ROOT BROWSER by JRummy Apps.
Open the app once installed and it will ask you to download files to make it work, it downloads quickly from inside the app.
When its finished you can then access the phones root files as tho your phone was rooted.
Its better than nothing for now and im sure there would be a way to insert the nesscerry files for rooting into the correct folders.
Hope it works for you

SP flash to flash a custom TWRP recovery .
I have ported one recovery image from TWRP 3.0.0-0 for Tecno W4 using carliv image kitchen. And it works like charm.
I would put the link up If I could, but right now I still need to make a few more posts to gain the privilege .

Hi again, I've found the better way to get root using Magisk, available here in XDA.
first download the 0808 firmware from allcall's official website and flash it with SP flash.
wireless upgrade to 20170819, unlike 0728 and 0808, this version has remove all bloatware and malware
take boot.img from the firmware folder and put it to phone storage
install Magisk Manager v5.3, hit install, patch the boot image.
copy the patched boot.img to PC and SP flash it. (no need to unlock bootloader)
done!
everything for allcall rio
