[Q] Viper rom 2.2 SD Card issue - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

Just updated to this new rom and sd card don't show my pics thats's on the card. It was fine when i was on the 1.0. Can anybody give me some trouble shooting tips. I'm using the latest trwp and this is the only issue i'm having with this rom.

Usually means card is corrupt and needs to be reformatted. Can you mount to pc?

yes i can and when i went back to mean rom and the previous version or viper i have no problems. Only when i go to this version rom

Odd, someone else was having this issue as well but they were unable to figure out a solution. I think this was a problem before but it should have been fixed

I even downloaded the rom a second time and still having this issue, if you can think of anything i might be able to try please let me know, i really like running viper.

Got the sd card issue fixed thanks to zedomax, i deleted the nomedia file on the sd card and it worked like a charm.

[Q] SD there but not there

So I'm running JT's vanilla Gingerbread. And after a day my SD card is not showing to be inserted thru gallery or if I try to download to. However I can play my music find ringtones on the card view pictures thru other apps and when I go to storage under setting it say card mounted and shows memory. Also something else weird is I can't delete anything from the card. Not really sure what's the problem and could use some advice Thx. (update) So two days now I've realized the problem has nothing to do with the SD card it self, everything is still there and I can do back ups from it as well as export contacts and flash in recovery. The problem seems to be somewhere in the rom. Gallery show a message "Sd unmount or not present" as well as I can't delete anything from the card thru the phone. Root explorer says it's deleted but it's not, every other way I try I get a "file can't be deleted" message. I can view pictures and video thru astro just not thru gallery. So I'm thinking this is not a wiped or fried Sd card issue but something with thew rom, I'll try flashing powerwashed rom and see if the problem continues and update.
If your running anything gingerbread expect your sd card to get wiped, do a backup asap.
Keep me Fascinated.
I am having the same problem

I would try backing up the card, then formatting. Not sure if it will work, but it's something to try.

Place Jt's VGB on your SD card with the gapps zip and flash thru CWR 4. 24 hours now and no problems. Hopefully for good as I really like this rom

[Q] Has anyone had MD5 mismatches since s-off?

Ever since I used AlphaRevX I can't get a usable nandroid backup. I've tried a cwm 2.x provided by AlphaRevX and cwm 4.0.1.4 by revolutionary and when I make backups with them and go to restore all it does is tell me MD5 mismatch. Is there a solution? Should I try amazinglarrys cwm 2.x with offmode charging? Please help.

I don't really see how this could be related to S-OFF. It sounds to me like a problem with the SD card. I'd try, in this order:
1) Reformat the SD card using the phone itself or a computer and try again.
2) Use this program to thoroughly reformat the SD card, then try again. (This program can fix some formatting problems that sometimes aren't fixed by a regular format.)
3) Try a different SD card.
If none of the above helps, perhaps it's a hardware issue with the phone?
Hmm, now that I think about it, everything went down hill right after I put a ext 3 partition on my sdcard. I checked the md5 sum myself and it looks ok...

Wow, that screwed the un-holy hell out of my phone. Needs new OS and the home button doesn't want to work. I'll figure it out though.

[Help] All camera apps say SD protected, can't save!

I've installed other camera apps after I get the problem with the stock app, but they all complain about the SD card not being writable! I'm guessing some file may be missing and causing the problem!?

yes, I'm glad he answered, but i'm looking for an easy way out, cause backing up 30G of data from a slow sd card is pain. But then I can format a smaller one just to see what files are missing!

external sd card not recognized

Hi guys,
i have flashed a few miui v4 roms and i think they have messed up my external sd card settings or something along the line.
now i'm back on a gb rom, i see the sd card when the phone is up and running but if i try to flash from cwm 4.0.1.5 it doesn't see mmy external card ?
do you guys have any idea how to sort this out ? i want to say that this sd card has always worked fine on this device, it's just now that cwm doesn't see it.
thanks
Format the card & see if the phone recognises it. If not, faulty card given you're running stock & the card should be visible to the phone/working fine if the card is good/not faulty.

Have you tried mounting it in CWM?
yes, but it doesn't even give me the option to choose zip file from eternal sd card only from internal sd card

What version CWM recovery are you on?
I meant, if you go to the Mounts and Storage menu, does it have an option for mounting or unmounting /sdcard? If so, does it say mount, or unmount? If it says mount, then you have to mount it in order to use it.
4.0.1.5 and yes there is mount, i mount it, go back to choose zip from sd card.....and there's no internal card detected....if i boot in the system i can see it with file explorer or the likes...it's just cwm not seeing it

Hmm. I've not used 4.x.x.x in quite some time.
I'm using 5.0.2.7. For me, anything that refers to "sdcard" is the external card. "internal sdcard" is the built in flash memory. And as it turns out, I didn't even have to mount /sdcard to use either.
Sorry man...
How did you get 4.0.1.5 installed? Maybe it's time to upgrade.
yes probably, how do you actually upgrade this ??

You do know how, you have already done it with your current version
Don't restore nandroid's from different versions

Easiest way is to flash a kernel that comes with it. I'm using Siyah. Just search for it.

Do you mean my AOKP port? if so can you link me to a 4.4.4 rom where your SD card worked... i know a file needs to be edited to allow r/w permission access to SD but can't remember exactly which off the top.

Yes your port, which runs smooth by the way, and external SD worked on liquid smooth
OK, so I just realized my internal wasn't being read either, so I erased the as card under storage and it reads it now, so I will try that on my external when I get to my PC and backup my SD card

OK I did those things I mentioned earlier and the cards now show in storage, but the phone is still saying there aren't any SD cards available and es file manager can even read the cards, I can't even get xposed framework to install.
