I am on Sammy JB ROM right now and want to try CM10/AOKP. I am using Samsung IME and I feel it much better than others. However, I didn't find any CM10/AOKP ROM include it.
I found in a post that T9DB and/or CSC is necessary for a Samsung IME. I don't know if it is possible to port Samsung IME to CM10/AOKP ROM. Could anyone tell me what I should do to implement it?
Thanks in advance.
Anyone would help please?

I don't think it would be possible.
You could always try one of the third party keyboards from the market though.

Thanks for your reply. Actually I have tried many IME but the Samsung IME is the best. Just be curious why it is not possible. Is it due to Samsung's framework?

I find the Sony Xperia keyboard to be better.
It is available at the android software section.

That's one person's opinion anyway...I personally hate SwiftKey...Keep searching OP, I'm sure there's an APK somewhere on the interwebs
Hello all, I have finally decided to root my S3. I just have one question though, what app would be good to backup all my settings, pics, apps and everything else? Also what is a good Rom to use that's fast and based on jellybean?

You can use titanium backup. As for the ROM it depends, some prefer stock with custom kernel others prefer asop ROMs. You should browse the forums and decide for yourself. Also next time search and only make a new thread if you can't really find an answer, the moderators may get mad at you.

What's the difference between asop and stock with different kernel? I read some older topics and just go too confused.

read the OP. it explains the different naming schemes of various different ROMs. it also lists all the roms that fall into different categories of aosp, aokp, stock, and others.

actually jjegan is right. due to hardware differences, you need to check out the appropriate forum for your phone. you will turn your phone into an expensive paperweight if you flashed any roms or kernels in this forum.

Please give me a way to install timescape widget on my purelook s3 rom. I hv searched many forums. But non of it helped me. I really love that app and widget. Thanks in advance

You need to own a Sony.
He he nice joke. Anyway i saw that widget and app in i9100 forum. So I curious find something for my s3
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
It's not a joke. It's Sony Proprietary. Maybe you can ask whoever ported it to 9000 to port to 9300, but it does require a developer to port it, none-the-less.
Thanks mate. Ill ask them

Yeah, there are 2 of them, try both and go with which one you like.
Sorry, this is just a loaded question to which nobody can answer for you. Many have asked this, and it just depends on you and what you are looking for. I will tell you, they are both super stable.
So flash away my friend.

Hi,
Wondering if there is any guide on how to port apps. Love Samsung 4.3 Music Player and love CM11. Would like to try to make them work together.
Thanks

Won't work, you'd also have to decompile most of Samsung's framework, which is not possible.

And if u did. Well. It is illegal as it isn't open source. Not open source also means u can't decompile it. It doesn't have a source.

Porting guides on the xda development and hacking forums .
Well illegality won't be an issue if I keep music player to myself. Doing it is a far more challenging.
