Help, stuck in RSD protocol support - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there, I just unlocked my phone. I attempted to reboot into fastboot protocol suport by pressing the volume down button and power. Phone is n the dual core screen and says "UNLOCKED STARTING RSD PROTOCOL SUPPORT". Is there a safe way to exit this so that I can get into fastboot protocol support. Thanks

you have ATT or INTL Atrix?

Hi thanks, I have ATT. I was walked through the process and am good to go now. I was softbricked. Thankyou for helping.

too bad... It is risk, but you can flash 2.3.6 via RSD
Or, if you can turn on Fastboot (try to Vol - w/o battery, insert the battery, plug to PC via USB), then flash recovery and flash zip file

Yes it is squared away now. Have MRom installed and am back up and running. My friend (GMan) from Atrix forums got ahold of me and walked me through everything. Thank you!

yes i was is that right
I'm assuming you were coming from the OTA 2.3.4. Is that right?
If so, then it is a soft brick and you just need to power it down and then plug it back in to the computer and it should turn on by itself. As soon as the menu comes back up, use the VOL down to navigate to Fastboot and then press VOL up to select. Once in Fastboot protocol, you can just reenter the fastboot unlock commands, make sure you enter your uniqueID exactly

You must have flashed an electrify sbf.. What happens when you boot the phone holding Power and Vol- or Power and Vol+ ?
ok ...power plus vol up did take me to rsd and i tried to flash sprint sbf and it said 100 % excuted then it said failed .
power plus vol down took me to fast boot

Which SBF did you try to flash? If you didn't try the 154_5 SBf that is the one I would recommend flashing. When flashing leave the phone plugged in (obviously) even after it says 100%. You may even get a message in RSD lite that says to power the phone manually. At this point (with the phone still plugged in) press and hold the power button for a few seconds (10 - 15 should suffice) and let the phone boot while still plugged in.
As a best practice, when using RSD lite I always leave the phone plugged in and RSD lite running until I have fully booted the photon successfully.
thats the one i tried to flash and i didnt unplugg the phone but it said failed ....i read somewhere that if u flash us cellular sbf u r stuck with it is that true ?
is there a way to root and install a sprint backup ?

I've not SBF'ed a US Cellular rom. Not sure if it would work but you could try unlocking the bootloader and then flashing a custom recovery and then try flashing a sprint rom through recovery. No guarantees that this will work though.

Bricked.. can't start RSD mode (Power + Vol Down)

I just flash from RSD lite... and it's fail.... (maybe because of low battery power)
I already recharge the battery full using external charger...
But now... mu photon Bricked.. I can't start the RSD mode (Power + Vol Down)
is there still any chance for it?
Thanks b4
Have you tried power + up? Does it give you any options when trying it? And are you in a boot loop or stuck at dual core screen?

Can you describe what the phone does? Does it turn on?

I believe, the RSD mode is [Power+Vol Up].
In any case, take out your battery and reinsert it.
Press [Power+Vol Up] as soon as you insert the battery.
Report back on what happens.

Try this step.
1. Connect your photon and PC/Laptop.
2. Press RSD protocol (volume up + power)
See if this work.
Was i has same problem, failed when flashing using rsdlite (when entering bp passthough), when try to enter rsd protocol, its just stuck on moto logo. But when i try to connect it with pc/laptop and try again entering rsd protocol, its work.

Bricked Droid Razr

Hello, I am new to this forum.
I will try to explain the best that I can about how I got into this situation.
I was previously running on ICS 4.0.4(don't really know if it is .211 or .214 or something.). I tried to root it using Matt's Droid Razr Utility 1.7. I didn't really know what to do and was stupid enough to follow the video in the help thread(which was for upgrading from GB rather than rooting an ICS). Then I panicked.
I used option 1, followed by option 9, followed by option 3, followed by option 2, and then all four in random orders. Later on, I realized that I had to recover from the .211 file in the sd card after option 1(failure on my part). However, now whenever I try to enter recovery, I get Invalid Flash Mode Boot failure, whereas a normal boot will give me Invalid Flash Mode Flash failure.
I tried to use ADB tools and it didn't work.
Then I tried Utility 1.81. My driver is the same as the one provided, and the cable is the one that came along with the charger and phone.
My phone carrier is Singtel.
Any way out of this? Thanks in advance.
is it possible to enter fastboot ??
if so try to grab an image in development section wich you can place on your phone with RSD lite.

I can enter fastboot, and only fastboot. Attempting to enter any BP or recovery will result in the failures.
I just downloaded a stock rom for my phone. I'll see how it turns out.
Thank you for your time.
im in a similar situation, my phone is bricked, how do u enter fastboot? and where can i get a rom to use in rsd lite?

Since the thread name is Droid razr i think it is xt912
Go fast boot (power off your phone[if you cant then push and hold vol down+vol up and power button the same time, when you see your display flashed quickly release all buttons and press them again and hold- you should get boot menu and then use vol down to get on AP fastboot and use vol up to select it]).
Then use rsd lite and FXZ files to get your phone running, no need for any kind of wipe after this. Wait until rsd lite says finished.
What fxz files do I use? I've tried like 3 different ones and they always fail

[Q] Recovery mode with broken volume button

I was at AtrICS 2.0 and tried to flash 4.5.2A 2.3.4 via rsd lite, but I think it did not wiped data and I have a broken volume down button, so I can`t get into recovery or fastboot mode, so I am in a bootloop and can only get into RSD mode, wich is volume up. Am I completely stuck?

But I am stuck in a bootloop and can't use adb
Try to flash a full rom via rsd, but be VERY (as in EXTREMELY) CAREFULL with it, you could end with a nice lookin paperwheight
