A bit ago I was playing NOVA 3 and I've noticed that some sort of white layer fills the screen when I'm playing, and that's causing pixelating problems. So I tested on every other game I have on my phone, and all of them shows the same problem. The issue can be identified by a bit opaque bar on the left side (when you're playing landscape) of the screen, near the samsung logo. I'm using Simplistic Rom V, but noticed it on original ICS ROM. I tried to take a screen shot but I wasn't able to see on my pc screen, so no deal.
Can anyone help me please?

I've my 3D since launch day, and things have run relatively smoothly, until today.
I was going to take a 3D picture, and switched to my camera app (launched from homescreen). The screen went blank and the phone became unresponsive for a little bit. When I finally exited (home button), the screen looked like it was stuck in 3D mode, everything was hard to see and some of the icons in the notification bar were missing or misplaced. After a little bit, the display returned to normal, so I tried launching the camera again, and the same thing happened, but I couldn't get the screen to normalize, so I rebooted. Camera and display seem to work again, for now.
Anyone else have this issue?
Thanks.
yup had the problem on numerous occasions even had an issue where i took 3d pic of my son i deleted it andf everytime i would go to the big pic widget to look at pics he would magicly show upfor quick second then disappear once i went into pics
I've begun to have very odd screen tearing, I'll try to describe it the best I can, as I haven't been able to get a proper screenshot of it happening, and I hope someone can help me out
Almost all the time the bottom bar, where the nav buttons and notifications are, will "jump" up and down about 1-2 pixels. It didn't notice it much at first, but it's really starting to annoy me.
When I play music, play any kind of game, open the gallery, the left side of my screen (about 1-2 cm) will start flickering and tear the picture.
When in gallery and swiping from picture to picture, the flickering/tear will start, but when just looking at a picture (aka nothing moving on the screen), it will stop completely.
The left side flicker/tear covers all the way from the top to the bottom, including the nav "back" button. The home and recent apps aren't affected.
Most of the screen flicker/tear stops when I'm just on my homescreens, the only part still affected by it is the "back" nav button.
It never happens when i'm in the browser (i use ICS Browser+).
I've tried restarting the device many times, I've tried turning it off and letting it rest for 24 hours, turned it on and within 5min it started again.
I haven't tried factory reset yet, since I wanted to check if it was fixable without doing so.
I'm currently running "almost" stock .28 update, rooted (not unlocked), I edited the SystemUI.apk, the keyboard layout for the dock and the bootanimation.
I hope someone can help me out

PS: It isn't the old "recent apps" screen tear, it never affects recent apps.
You're experience what nearly everyone hear has experienced. Sometimes it'll fix itself, sometimes I have to reboot. So far, there's nothing you can do about it.
Hi, I have an xperia sola with ultimate rom v10 and experimental kernel v7. I just noticed this issue so I don't know if it's related to them or not.
I don't know quite how to describe it but I'll try. When my phone is booting (the sony logo) and when I'm in CWM, I see the ghost image of my phone's homescreen on top right and left. It's a silhouette of the time, the battery percentage and the notification icon. The image always changes to the last state when I experience it (for ex. if the time was 17.12 before I shut down, the silhouette says 17.12 too).
There is no ghost image whatsoever after the device boots though. I've carefully checked it only occurs when booting and when in CWM. Is this an issue or I'm just making a fuss over nothing?
Hi dnilbia,
I noticed your problem on my Sola with stock not rooted 2.3.7 GB! I can see the time and avast antivirus logo on the right and leftt top off the screen (where notification bar is),when my phone is booting or is charging powered off! Moreover on the left and right bottom of the screen there is a blurry small black "triagnle" (the edges of the screen).
Well seems like a problem of old lcd screens with lcd persistence image but maybe it is caused from moisture and low temperatures!Well mine disappeared some days ago, boot per boot it was disappearing a little bit til it was gone.I left it in dry environment and avoided using YT cause screen is always on!
Hope it is nothing
So, I've been having screen problems for a while now. Just thought I had an unique case until I started reading about the S4 problems:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2253881
After reading those problems and watching the many youtube videos, I noticed how similar those issues were to my S3 issues too. I too have a lot of smearing/ghosting when I scroll around on sites and phone settings. Especially white text on black background and black text on white background. I don't even have to scroll that fast to see the effect.
It also happens during games. When I swipe slowly in circular motions, you can see a ghost of objects and text following the original. I know every screen in the world has a bit of morion blur, but it's way too visible on the S3, especially since it's a high end phone.
Anyone else has this issue?
Bump
So I play a lot of PUBGM. For anyone who's not familiar with the game, you can switch weapons by tapping one of the two weapons from the bottom central part of the screen, in landscape mode.
While playing my first game today, I noticed that I can't switch weapons for some reason, no matter how many times I tap it. I even noticed my keyboard going haywire in landscape mode around the exact same position of the weapon switcher in PUBGM.
So I downloaded an app named Touchscreen Test which shows whether the screen is working properly or not with the help of White and Green dots (Green being good, white being bad).
This was the result: https://i.imgur.com/8Uqn2lp.png
I don't know whether what or how this happened, as my phone was working absolutely perfectly yesterday.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
