Hello everybody
I found exposure slider in camera setting has no effect on viewfinder and also on resulted media . Weather was still camera or video.
Any one confirm this or else?

I have the exact same problem, from both front and back cameras. Same in third party camera apps, exposure controls simply do not function as expected, no change at all. HDR picture mode seems to work fine though.
Not a serious enough problem for me to RMA, but it is a small dent in the glory of the S3 for sure..

I also had this issue and was deeply disappointed, because my optimus 2x made much better shots in low light because of the exposure compensation.
I found the solution today: I used the hidden camera menu *#34971539# and discovered that my camera was ZDFE02 and the phone firmware was ZDFE03. If your phone to cam button is greyed out, do this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=32721917
After copying the file to internal SD, restart, then update and restart. You get new cam firmware and now the exposure works.
Hi guys
I've just noticed a very slight click sound when I launch the camera on the s3. Only the rear camera not the front one. Dont think it was there before and just wondering if its a problem. As I said its very slight and only when you launch the camera not when taking pics, switching to video mode etc.
Thanks
I ported some rom to my device (star 9770 mtk6577) but all of them have the same problem: front camera not working. As far as i remember by the first time it worked but taking photos at 3Mpx (it should be a 0.3Mpx) but now when i switch to it the screen becomes black as the camera was covered (but it isn't) and the phone becomes slower until i switch to the main camera. The problem is still remaining running a MIUI with the same kernel so i think the problem may be there. Is it possible that the high resolution could have broke down that camera and is there any way to revive it?
EDIT
That wasn't the problem, probably the front camera is detached from the electric contacts and it don't work properly. In fact sometimes when I press on the camera it begins to work.

HI, my plan is to remove the lens elements on the back camera to expose the sensor and make a adapter for DSLR lenses.
Ive allready done some tests on a VGA webcam and the results was very very good. I was able to get an insane amount of zoom out of a 55-250mm lens with "good" picture quality.
I did carefully remove the lens elememts on the back of the camera so the sensor is visible, but since I have removed the focus/shutter mecanism I get a error when I start the camera app, which seems to be the same as the when you have a stuck "shutter" (callback error on startup).
Is there a way to bypass this error and ignore the built in camera checks so i can use the camera without the autofocus/shutter parts.
Any tip would be usefull, my phone is rooted so I can test different camera mods or roms.
Hi, new here
I don't know if anybody can help with my issue but here goes
I have an A-sure android headunit I am currently running a reverse camera but I want to run a front camera that works with reverse camera for parking. The headunit comes with pre installed "f cam" app when I tap the app I can switch between rear cam (shows reverse cam image) when I switch to front cam I get a yellow ? I have a camera running through AV in but that doesn't switch when reverse is engaged.
Does anybody have an android headunit running a front camera, which pins are for front camera?
Sorry but I can't workout how to add a photo of the back of my headunit?
