Yes if u wanna unroot it...and u need to relock ur bootloader to be able to flash the RUU. If u unlocked it htc method, type on fastboot: fastboot oem lock -and then u will be able to flash the RUU.Why are u doing this,is something wrong with the phone?

Yeah, it won't properly charge when off. When I have plenty of charge, and charge a bit when its off, it won't turn on until I remove and replace the battery. Charges fine otherwise.
This other guy had the same problem, and he tried loads of phones, the unrooted one worked fine...
Where can I get the ruu?

There are some shooteru (GSM) RUU's here and here. I'm not sure which version your model (x515m) needs, but maybe a GSM user can help with that.

It doesnt charge when off because you probably use clockwork recovery. It has known charging issues. Try 4EXT recovery

Downgrade cwm

Hello I installed the cwm version 5.0.2.0 via rom manager. Now I have this bug where I can not charge my phone when it is off.
Can I downgrade or upgrade to other version without this bug? How I have to do it?
Please help.

You can downgrade with 2 ways. In cmw settings you can choose an earlier recovery or flash the desired one via adb.

Yes, the guy who started the thread about the 4ext recovery said that backups made in any cwm version will work with his recovery. I personally don't understand this bug you're reporting. Are you saying that your phone isn't charging while plugged in while its in recovery? CWM 5.0.2.0 charges just fine in recovery. The only bug with charging on that recovery is that the charge light won't turn on. Doesn't mean it's not actually charging...
Ones my phone is empty and powers off I can not charge it. The only way to power it on again is to use some adb command to boot it in fastboot and charge a bit via USB from pc. I am not the only one with this behavior and cwm 5.0.2.0.
BTW. Updated to 4ext and very happy now. Did not try the old backups yet. But I saw an option to convert old backups in ext4

[Q] Serious problem

Hello Guys!
First of all, i wanna apologize. I know this thread might be rude because im noob but i need my phone in 2 days (since i got trip to france)
Im on GSM Evo 3d Hboot 1.53. I tried to flash King Cobra ICS rom. I got bootloops. I tried to fix it as here on htcevohacks site using DumLock . It havent helped. I was using 4ext recovery and i think it is a problem. Now i changed my recovery to CWM Revolutionary. When i reboot (or boot) my phone normally or after restore of my normal room it boots up with 4ext recovery. What should I do?
Thanks very much for your help! i Need this damn phone!
Can you access the recovery?
Are you s-on or s-off?
If you're s-on, then go into 4ext recovery and enable smart flash, then flash a working custom rom (plenty of them out there)
Do the same if you're s-off, just don't enable smart flash
Remember to wipe all the normal partitions before flashing, this will wipe all your data though

Since this is an emergency, I recommend you flash a Gingerbread Rom since those seem to flash better with s-on phones. Use 4ext and set it to s-on mode. Then flash a GB Rom like leedroid or mwakious.

1. Download CoolExe's ROM
2. Copy boot.img from that ROM into your adb folder
3. Install ROM trough cwm
4. Reboot into Fastboot and use
Fastboot flash boot boot.img
5. Reboot.
This worked for me, after unlocking (htcdev) and installing cwm on 1.53.007 hboot.

I have now h-boot 1.57 stock ics and gsm

Unless I'm mistaken, hboot 1.58 is CDMA only. Since you're GSM, it would be a bad idea. Afaik, 1.57 is the latest GSM.
I could be wrong as HTC numbers hboots very annoyingly.

Yeh as far as I know 1.58 is CDMA. Though why you would want to update your hboot is beyond me... generally speaking the lower your hboot the fewer problems you will have with it

1.57 is VM hboot. If you are S-Off search for the hboot thread by mpgrimm and download the 1.58. That one is not unlocked though. 1.58.5858 junuptobear is unlocked I think. It is there too.

Unlocked bootloader is no really necessary for most things if you are S-Off. The hboot thread is a great resource for all this.

Since you are s-off, find and download the appropriate gsm hboot (i know where cdma ones are but not gsm), rename the file (pg86img for cdma, not sure for gsm), put it on the root of your sd card, reboot into bootloader and flash it there.

You are already S-OFF with latest hboot. You dont need to unlock it. S-OFF is more than unlocked bootloader. If you want to root, you will have to flash custom bootloader 1st if you cannot unlock it. As you will not be able to flash recovery through fastboot without unlocking it though you are S-OFF. or you can flash a PG86IMG.ZIP containing a custom recovery.
then boot the custom recovery and flash superuser zip.
This will root your phone.
How can I Flash custom bootloader
Sent from my HTC EVO 3D X515m using xda app-developers app
i'm gonna try and explain this real easy:
1) Download you the hboot you want (I'd recommend this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1906172 )
2) Put the PG86IMG on the root of your sdcard (it means dont put it into any folder just place it outside)
3) Pull out battery.
4) Hold power and vol down button. The phone should boot into bootloader(white screen with fastboot recovery options etc)
5) select bootloader by pressing power button
6) It should check for the PG86IMG now. let it do its thing. when asked if you want to apply update press power up.
7) Let it complete and reboot

[Q] Does the 3D camera work in the viper3D rom?

Hi,
I've just got an Evo 3D - it's a phone I've always wanted and the stock rom just sucks. I'm looking for a rom that's smooth, ICS, preferably but not essential sense 4, and most importantly where the 3D camera works for stills and videos. I've been reading a lot and I can't quite tell whether it works in viper3D.
If not, can anyone point me to a rom that fits the bill?
Thanks guys

Thanks Now just to go through and work out what root and baseband and kernels I need haha.
Ok, so it says I need this baseband..
11.77.3504.00P_11.25.3504.06_M from official release 3.28.707 download it from here
But it doesn't say if I need to install a different bootloader or kernel first.. Do I need to? Do I need an s-off or s-on root?
Is
6.TO ACTIVATE ROOT --> GO IN APPLICATIONS AND OPEN PERMISSION MANAGER THEN TURN ON ROOT PERMISSION (FIRST LINE) AND REBOOT THATS ALL!!!
Talking about something else (i.e. not rooting in the common sense)?

You can forget about flashing anything then.
To answer your question about root in Mwakious rom - no, it doesn't mean it will root your phone, it's superuser which you must enable to get root permissions when you are already rooted
