hi guys , i have galaxy s II and i heard about the dive service,, and when i tried to apply i faced a problem
when i open accounts and sync and try to add samsung account it says that i have an account already ,, ok ? ,, so i proceed to the next step in which i try to access my account on the web samsungdive.com ,,, it keeps saying that the password is incorrect ?
what is wrong with that , iam sure about the password ,,, is there a step missing or something i should have done ? ,, thnx
no one knows ?!!!!
Did you try the lost password option? You'll find out soon enough if your credentials are correct.
Hi guys,
Do you know how to delete old devices from Samsung Dive? Two other devices which were sold still listed under my Samsung dive page. Before I sold those two devices I did factory reset already.
Thanks.

factory reset will not delete the accounts before it is sold, it will just remove it from the phone.
Go to your dive page and manually remove them from your account. Are the password different for either of the phone, it maybe trying to access and older password.
Once the phones are deletred the account may work, otherwise use the lost password option and create a new password.

I only have one Samsung account for 3 phones (2 of them were sold). When login to Samsung dive I still see 3 phones. I cannot manually remove them in the Samsung dive homepage, I don't know how because there is no option so far, or did I miss something here?
Sent from my GT-I9305 using Tapatalk 2
apparently the other two phones where not properly deleted from the devices before you sold them. I checked out samsung dive web site. If the other phones data was wiped properly the phones should have been deleted.
You have 2 options.
I. delete the samsung account and recreate it. This will remove all the phone from your account.
2. Write to samsung through their email contact and have them delete the phones from your account.

Hi guys, i have been using my google account only in my single device since last year, on HTC Desire and then on SGS2. this year I also have Asus Transformer. So overall is 3 device with my primary google account. Last week, i bought the i9100G version for my girlfriend, and accidently put my gmail account first and created her account. i cant remove my account without wiping that phone but we rarely meet due to hectic life so i dont have a chance to backup her stuff, and wiping it.
so my question is, if i changed my google/gmail account password, my phone and other devices will stop working with google synchronization isnt it? i need to login again on each device isnt it?
why i ask? if something were to happen, i dont want my girlfriend to open my account, cuz all of my credit card info is used to buy apps~~ and she has the option to use which account on the market to download her stuff. my purpose is to let her download my purchased apps, but not purchasing it by herself.
Yes it will work. IF you changed the password it will not sync in your girlfriend's mobile.

I can't give you a solid answer (though, would be interesting to know) but here's an idea:
Since you're using your Google account on multiple devices of your own, just change the password of it, and then try to access things from one of your other devices.
However the other device of your's will behave after the pwd change, your (ex?)GF's phone will do the very same.
Educated guess:
No access anymore after changing password.
Done. I need to re-enter my password on all of my devices after changing it.
I should have thought it before. Stupid me. Maybe cuz i cant think straight right now.
Thanks guys!

Hi all, I have searched about this issue and it seems like there isn't a workaround for it. I recently acquired SGS3, and found this Email issue very annoying (specifically Hotmail). I tried K9 and MailDroid, and found that they didn't have as good as a Push feature as the stock SGS3 email app. (I was an avid Blackberry user)
Anyway, I just want to bring this to the attention of other more knowledgeable users on xda. Are there any methods to make Hotmail Email sent from SGS3 (using stock email app) show the Full sender name instead of the Hotmail login name?
Others with the same issues:

Is it possible to set the from name when sending an email using the default email app?
I'm sending via hotmail configured as exchange in the app but the from name always shows as the full name associated with my live login. On all my other ICS devices, in the standard email app its possible to configure what you want to show as your name in the from field.
Is this no longer possible as it looks like they've removed the option from the configuration screen. Any hack to do it?

Has anyone found an answer to this?
It was an issue with SGS2 and SGS1 before it. It's a Samsung stock email issue. Surely there are loads of people out there with Samsung phones and Hotmail accounts?

ok i finally managed to fix it in a very primative way, when you are going to your account settings you can see the "your name" option n it disappears right away, what you need to do is to change any option in the menu n exit, then get in the settings again n this time the "your name" option will last a second or two, enough time to hit it to be able to change it

This worked perfectly. I've had my Galaxy Note for just under a year and have had to resort to the official Hotmail app on the market which is very buggy. I was seriously annoyed when my name wouldn't appear from the stock email app, it otherwise worked very well.
As you said, when you enter the settings menu the Your name option appears for a second before disappearing. The only way to get it to return is to change any menu option, close the menu and then return to the menu. You have to be quick but you can select the option before it disappears and edit your name in the dialogue box that appears.
Good find!
It took a few attempts but here's a screenshot taken during that tiny one second window.
Isn't there another way to get the Your Name option updated? Unfortunately I must be really to slow as I'm never able catch that option for the fraction of second I see it...

Sold my galaxy SII and bought a Galaxy SIII. Ive inserted my sim card into my phone and have synced all my contacts. However my sister who has bought my GSII has deleted all my contacts off my new GSIII from her GSII. She says shes jst deleted the contacts and yet they have been deleted off my phone to. How do I fix this?? Thanks. My HTC sensation us unaffected
Sounds like the GS2 was still connected to your google account when your sister deleted all your contacts. If that's the case, unless you backed up your contacts to another medium before she deleted them, I'm not sure you can recover them.

I cant remember deleting my account off of there tbh. Ive got my contacts backed up. My sister is coming round later on. If I wipe all the data off the GSII and create a new google ID on the GSII, will this sort the issue? What I dont want, is to wipe the GSII only to lose all my contacts again (even though Ive got them backed up) Never seen this problem before and Ive owned quite a few android devices.

Hey, Yann68's right! (Thanks dude! I didn't know about this.)
There is a feature to restore contacts back to a specific time. Log into your Google account, go to Contacts. Click the "More" button, and you'll see "Restore Contacts". You can then choose how far back to restore to.
Hey guys, I could really use some help right now. My friend is having my tab and he wrongly hit the password for a couple of time and now I have to enter my Google account to unblock the restriction. The problem here is I've forgotten the password to my Google account. Changing the password does not help because it is not connected to the internet. So, can anyone please direct me to a solution? I don't mind formatting but I need to know how. Btw, my tab is not rooted.

I wouldn't have posted that link for multiple reasons. I don't get how he could have forgotten his password since you get logged out on a computer every week I think.
For OP: download "Pocket" and keep your passwords in there. Saved me a lot of resets since I use a diff password for everything.

ok, I'll trust that you didn't get it illegally.
Power off the prime.
Hold down volume down and the power button the same time and wait for 3 icons to appear.
The first icon is wipe data, press volume up.
This will wipe the device as if new including wiping the internal SD.

Friends and experts, I really beg na urgente help here.
Yesterday my Samsung galaxy note 5 was hacked.
First they locked my screen with a password and a message in the lock screen saying: hackers br.
I was able to unlock the screen with the help of a remote manager software from Samsung.
A few minutes later, after the unlock of the home screen, they restarted the smartphone and
restored factory defaults.
After that, I reinstalled everything in my phone, lost 1 day doing that, I even rooted the smartphone again,
but today a few minutes ago, I was hacked again and the phone locked again.
I was quickly able to unlock it, and turned off the internet connection.
When I started the internet conection again, the smartphone restarted and tried to reset everything again.
I was desperately pressing the power button, and it seems I was able to avoid the reset.
I have the control of the smartphone right now and I need and urgente TIP about What to look for, what to do, what to delete, to same my phone.

The phone is hacked. Not the account as far as I know.
I use 6 diferent Google Accounts in this Android for gaming.
I'll look the contacts in my phone, but I don't see how that can avoid them from hacking the phone again.
Anyway, I work using WhatsApp. So, I have hundred of contacts.
Does anyone has any more practical and immediate solution to try:
- Block the phone from accepting a restore factory defaults command and lock it as it is now?
- Any kind of service or process or know malicious app that I can search and uninstall?

If I'm not mistaken u can mind out by enabling ADB
From there u should be able to tell from the IP addresses when u look them up on Google you can find out if its local or not there are apps out there that will help you gain the info you are wanting hope this helps.
One last thing I can think of is change passwords alert google and good luck.

THank you everyone for your time.
I solved the problem.
None of my accounts were hacked. My phone was not hacked.
What happened is that I added an account to my phone that was not mine. Someone that I game with gave me his account
for me to help him playing when he couldn't. So, by having his own account inside my phone, he was able to play with my face,
lock my phone, restore factory default.
This is a huge and big leak of security in android in my opinion. Since many people use many different accounts inside one single
smartphone, like work Email, personal email, etc. Google and Samsung should enable only ONE SINGLE ACCOUNT to be able to
remotely manage the smartphone, not and never all the accounts!
This is something that must change inside Android! You must be able to set the account that can remotely manage the smartphone.
If anyone knows of a forum or a direct place where I can place this complain to the team responsible for developing Android,
I'll be glad to give this contribution based on this really bad experience that I had.
Thank you again for you time.

So I'm pretty sure that only Google accounts can control Android Device Manager and adding someone else's account to your phone is a very big security risk on your part. You can also deactivate Android Device Manager as a device administrator and no account will be able to control your phone in that way.

Hi. The samsung account can do the same. Actually I never used the Google Device Manager. I learned about it because the cracker/hacker was using it.
I unlocked my device all the times he locked it using my Samsung account.
I believe it's a really important and nice tool to have, but again, it need to be related to one single "master" Google account,
and not all the accounts the device has added into it.
