same issue
Dealing with the same.
Upgraded to 6.1.B.0.550 then re-locked bootloader to usae sony update service.
Used the original unlock code and got the "fail (remote: oem unlock 0XFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF). Tried unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/unlock site for a new code but was supplied the same code again, so I don't believe it's related to the code.
My Phones setting indicate that bootloader unlock is allowed but no resolution as yet.

[Q] LWW | Unlock bootloader when not allowed

Hello
I currently own an Xperia Live with walkman which I upgraded to 4.0.4 ICS and rooted.
I'm interested on using custom ROMs so I need to unlock the phone's bootloader in order to install custom kernels.
In the service menu of the phone, rooting status says:
Bootloader unlock allowed: NO
I've read on other threads that this means that the phone also has a network lock, so even if I use the test point method to unlock, I won't be able to use fastboot mode.
However on the SIMLOCK menu of the service menu, all locks are disabled (And I confirmed it by installing another sim from a different phone company).
¿How can I unlock the bootloader (for free, hopefully), and will it work on fastboot mode?
I would advise you to try and go to fastmode connecting the phone to the computer while off and holding the volume up key, the notification led should turn on blue that means that you will have no problem flashing custom kernels but you will need to unlock the bootloader using the test point method.
Also you can double check if the boot loader is really locked in the service menu, software info, under the s1 Boot Version you will find something like this: 1241-3656 r9A029 the letter "r" here refers to the state of the bootloader the lower case means it's unlock meanwhile the capital "R" means its locked.

So, I will never be able to use fastboot?
Even if I unlock the bootloader through test points or the paid method?
Normally, you'd have to unlock it via Wotan Server. It erases SIM lock and unlocks bootloader. Don't know why your phone is already SIM unlocked, though.
Hi,
I have same problem, Bootloader unlock allowed: NO
On every test point tutorial I saw "if Bootloader unlock allowed: YES, than you can continue doing TP".
I want to unlock it, so I can flash CM9.
Can I still use TP to unlock my bootloader?
No, bootloader cannot be unlocked if fastboot is disabled.
The only way to enable fastboot right now is via paid method, which also uses the test point method. I am not sure, but I have heard that in some cases, that method unlocks the bootloader aswell.
So, no custom ROMs for me
So what's the verdict here?
Even though on my LWW I have Bootloader unlock allowed: NO I did the testpoint method to unlock the bootloader and it passed. Afterwards I have S1 Boot Version: r9A021 (notice the r) which means the bootloader is unlocked AFAIK. However I still have no access to fastboot. I can confirm that the phone is simlocked, and before having to pay to get it simunlocked, I want to make sure that doing so will finally enable fastboot.
Again, will having the phone sim-unlocked enable the bootloader to be unlocked, and more importantly gain access to fastboot?

Yes, the bootloader is unlocked, but fastboot is still disabled and phone SIM-locked. The only way to enable fastboot is via paid method.

That's exactly what I am asking. If the phone gets sim-unlocked, does that mean that fastboot will be enabled? What paid method are you referring to? Sim-unlock code? Or is there some other paid method?
Or to put it in better writing, what paid method is there to enable fastboot?

The paid-method is technically you go to your service provider, and ask them for an unlock code for your phone.Normally, you need to pay,but if you are lucky, they can give an unlock code for free :good:
The method to sim-unlock your phone (based on my reading in this forum ) is insert other SIM card that are different carrier, and turn on your phone. There will be a checkpoint which your phone asking for a code,at that time you insert the code that your service provider gave you,and after you enter the code, your phone will automatically sim-unlocked :highfive:
I'm sorry if some of my information is misleading,I hope someone can fix my mistake (if any though)
Or try this, who knows it might work?

I'm planing to buy an unlock code, just want to make sure that by simunlocking it will enable fastboot.
Only wanted to know if anyone knows that it is certain, because i have no need for simunlock other than enabling fastboot so I can flash kernels

I unlocked the sk17i of my son with another simcard and the code from my provider but... bootloader is still NOT allowed
Have you tried the testpoint method to unlock the bootloader?
Unlocking bootloader and sim unlocking both do separate things, but I'm hoping simunlocking + testpoint method will finally enable fastboot.
I'll purchase a simunlock code and post if that helps with enabling fastboot asap.

[Q] NeoV unlock bootloader

Hi everyone,
I have been trying to unlock the bootloader of my SE MT11i and I can't seem to do it, I continually see bootloader unlock allowed: no
in the phone config. I am wondering if I have any options but to purchase a new phone?
11W49 - year and week code
Methods tried
- s1tool and testpoint (using both the ground near the battery, and the ground on the testpoint section) it runs the unlock =>
SEMC SIMLOCK CERTIFICATE, PROCEEDING
FINISHED
Elapsed:14 secs.
but when I enter the *#*#737... code I still see the bootloader unlock allowed: no
- fastboot with SE code
Are there any other options? Should I try Omnius or something like that? Will that allow me to unlock the bootloader?
Thanks for any advice you can offer folks.

[Q] Trolling Bootloader?

Hi. Im trying to unlock my bootloader on Xperia Neo (rooted, stock ICS firmware .587)
I tried Sony method from their site. I followed all instruction.
But after all, I got this message in command window: Unlock phone requested failed. Phone is already unlocked. But when i type *#*#7378423#*#* in my phone it says Rooting status: Bootloader unlock allowed: Yes.
I tried unlock it using flashtool too, but when i connect my phone, after a while i get message: Your phone bootloader cannot be officially unlocked.
Can anybody help me?
From what i read, some carriers make it harder to unlock bootloader (Orange in PL for example). I would start from searching for people with the same mobile carrier yoy have on your "local" forums

Unable to unlock bootloader on Tab Z

I have an Xperia tablet Z, I've checked the service menu and confirmed that the bootloader unlock allowed value is "Yes".
I've requested and received the unlock key, and following the instructions on http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/instructions.
I've prepared my computer for the process, and can confirm that the device connects to fastboot without issue.
Upon using the fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0xXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX, I receive the following error:
...
FAILED (remote: Command did not succeed)
finished. total time: 0.035s
What do?

I've copied and pasted it from sony's email, unless it was provided to me in the incorrect case, I doubt that's the issue.
I've worked a way around my task that did not require bootloader unlocking, but any additional assistance would be appreciated.
I've got the same problem with unlocking the bootloader from my Sony Xperia Tablet Z Wifi (SGP312,FW 10.3.1.C.0.136). In service menu there is written, that my device is unlockable, so i get unlock key from sony, but i can't unlock.
When i write in cmd
Code:
fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce getvar version
then i get as result
Code:
version: 0.5
finished. total time: -0.000s
. That's fine.
When i write in cmd
Code:
fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0xMyKey
where MyKey is the key i received from sony email, then this error returns:
Code:
...
FAILED (remote: Command did not succeed)
finished. total time: 0.031s
I'd like to install Cyanogenmod-ROM and a recovery like clockworkmod. i'm familiar with rooting HTC- and Samsung-Devices, but i got no idea how to unlock this bootloader!

Allowing use of custom kernel needed to use non stock rom ( CM, omni, aosp based roms)
Sorry to jump in on this post but....
I have rooted my SGP321 (Tablet Z 16GB LTE) but I get when I check and enter the code to see if I can unlock my bootloader I get a NO returned
Does this mean there is no way around unlocking it?
Sorry for the questions. (I wish it was as easy as installing ROM's on my HTC One)
Finally bootloader is unlocked!
I sent another email with IDID to Sony instead of serialnumber and the key i received worked to unlock bootloader.
@N345H: i'not sure, but NO seems to be NO
so if we contact sony to get the bootloader unlocked. if anything went wrong after that, can we just relock, and restore the drm key and send it in for warranty? any has any experiences to share?

I know HTC keeps track of unlocks not sure if Sony does if you were able to restore ta and.go.back to stock I would think it would be ok. Sony is pretty good. I had a xperia arc unlocked had some issues restored and sent it in and they still fixed it no charge

I unlocked my drive and read the warnings, and Sony says it depends on your warranty. you should check your own if you have one. Mine is voided. They also mention additional cost for repair for an unlocked device.
