Hi,
I have a simlocked Lumia 800 and I have it on DLOAD. I have the latest official software installed. I have read this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1778454
but having some problems using NSS. I get a "NAND disk... Not Found" error and it may also be because I am not rooted or don't have the Qualcomm Bootloader.
I want to ask the following questions:
1. Where should I start? Rooting or installing the Qualcomm Bootloader and how do I do that? I would really appreciate it if there is a program that does this for me.
2. Can I still update my phone via Zune for official software updates after that? (Rooted Androids have problems updating via official updates)
I am a newbie and not so advanced in the steps of rooting or installing bootloaders. TIA
:fingers-crossed:
Anyone?
A DLOAD lumia cannot be rooted and cannot be sim unlocked with NSS!

1. on lumia 800 still missing signed qualcomm bootloader, so you cannot make sim-unlock for your phone =(
2. with dload you couldn't change your os, so you still can get updates via zune and ncs

Hey guys, been away from the game for a few month with my Lumia 710 and seems like lots of things changed.
My phone was originally a Lumia 710 from rogers, I then flashed an Australian variant of .12050 which worked fine with NCS. Looks like I can't flash the new firmware using this meathod anymore. Following the instructions I get some "format your disk" question, which I said no.
Did more digging online, and it appears I have the Qualcomm bootloader? Also when USB fines it shows Qualcomm MSM or something like that. Anyways, how do I go about just flashing a new rom into my device. I don't want a custom rom, I just want a Mobilicity variant of .12120 which I already downloade from NaviFirm. In one place it says to use Qualcomm QPST....to flash a Nokia firmware? I am at a loss. Just need to be pointed in the right direction.

NCS is for DLOAD bootloaders, NSS can either restore the DLOAD bootloader or from what I understand can be used to flash roms on the QC bootloader
Also this can flash ROMs to QC bootloader
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1665821
I haven't used them so do some more research, but that is how I understand it
Thanks for the reply, however, I am still confused.
Seems like most of these programs are designed to flash .nb files, I just want to flash factory software.
It appears that i can put a dload boot loader onto my phone and then just do it throught NCS, but can I go back to qualcomm if I decide to unlock my phone later?

With a Lumia 710 you can go from Qualcomm to DLOAD and vice versa. With an 800 you can only go from Qualcomm to DLOAD and not the other way round.

how to connect lumia to qspt??
please help
Hello,
PC Companion says that i have a new update, but i've unlocked and rooted my phone, so when the install should begin, an error pops up saying that i have a modded firmware and i cannot update it.
So, i think the same issue will go on when next week or next year ICS will be released.
The question is: what i have to do to update my XS? I've to flash the ftf loosing the recovery and then reinstall it? Doing that, i will lost all the apps and everything on my phone?
Thank You very much
If you have unlocked bootloader, you cannot update using the official method, but only through flashtool.
If for some reason you want to use the official way, you should relock the bootloader, here is the guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1527159
As far as my knowledge goes: You could backup your apps, lock your bootloader, upgrade to ICS, unlock bootloader, achieve root, restore apps. You'll probably have to wait for root for ICS though, shouldn't take long at all.
Or at least that's how I hope it will work.
So, the faster way is to wait for a custom rom correctly packed to be flashed via recovery
Thank guys
Hi and sorry for my bad English :S
Actually on my Xperia Mini Pro SK17i I mounted the RealICS 4.1 but I would see the official 4.0.4! I have unlocked bootloader but I have a big problem: I can't flash with Flashtool because It always return me an error when It's flashing the system!
Can I flash the official 4.0.4 with PC Companion or Sony Mac Bridge? (I have a Mac!)
What will I do if the flash give me an error? I'm confused...
After that can I lock my bootloader? I unlocked that with the testpoint metod :S
PS: Can i flash this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1772120) on my RealICS 4.1 or Can i have the notification on the lockscreen like in Gingerbread?
Thanks thanks thanks at all
What error does Flashtool give?
You need to install the drivers and make sure your phone is in flashmode.
It has always worked and I have everything installed correctly
It give me "Flashing aborted. Error flashing system.sin"
With all the official ROM!!!

Try another computer:good:
Or lock your bootloader & use SUS:good:
I can't use another computer
How I lock my bootloader with the testpoint metod? Should I search into the forum?
PS: my principal question is: "What will do if I use "repair" of PC Companion or Mac Bridge?

It may brick ur device...!!
If you unlocked it via test point, you should be able to use PC Companion without relocking it.
Can I use the function repair of PC Companion or I brick my phone? I don't understand

means using repair on an unlocked device will brick your phone so if you want to flash official firmware and you have unlocked your boot loader then first lock your boot loader by following this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1324703 and then update to latest official firmware
Incorrect to all of this.
If you unlocked via official method,
Installation will not start at all! Update Service/PC Companion can see if you're bootloader is unlocked via official method or not. If it is, you just get error and software won't be edited at all. Relocking bootloader allows the installation to continue, so relock if you want to repair/update with PC.
If you unlocked via test point method,
Installation will work and your device won't get bricked!
Now, solution to your Flashtool - What version are you using of Flashtool? Were you able to install THAT firmware earlier also to your phone?

Just remember this, do not try to update OTA if you have unlocked boot-loader by any method. It will (might) brick your phone. (That's an actual brick. You will need to use un-bricking ftf to repair phone)
Known Issues:
It is currently not possible to unlock the boot loader for CDMA phones.
Some customers with unlocked boot loaders have experienced problems when they are accepting over the air upgrades (FOTA - Firmware upgrade Over The Air). For customers that have unlocked the boot loader, please do not accept any over the air upgrades.

Oh good! I can use the function repair, great!
I used all the Flashtool version and I reinstalled all the driver but nothing. It give me the same error..
I flashed all version of Gingerbread (2.3.3 and 2.3.4.) and also 4.0.4...
Any solutions?
No solutions??? Thanks at all for everything! You're the best!
ip :good:
hmmm...using flashtool, try flashing system.sin only....if you keep getting error then flash stock kernel first before flashing your phone again....

No,:cyclops:
Then you cant install xap-files. For that you need an unlocked device. Bluetooth share you should be able to find on market place under Nokia collection.

wait? My phone is factory unlocked, so my phone have unlocked bootloades isn't?
if no, please give me step by step tutorial, so i can install my custom xap. :silly:
Thanks a lot.
Factory unlocked only means carrier or sim unlocked. If your phone has dloader as boot-loader then there is no chance of installing xap-files. If your phone has qualcomm boot-loader then you can. Do a search in this forum to find out how to determine what boot-loader your phone has.

There are two conditions to install xap...
1. If your phone is brand new and not unlocked (refer case 2 and 3), then you can install XAP(WP application files) from MarketPlace only. There is not other way.
2. If your phone is dev-unlocked, then you can install upto 10 xap files of your choice. To dev-unlock a phone you need a dev account from microsoft which is by default paid. and you can use that to unlock upto three devices. It is good if you are a developer.
3. If your phone is rooted then you can install as many XAP files as you can. There is virtually no restriction for this. Simple way to do it is by installing CUSTOM ROM to your phone.
Once your phone is unlocked there are many ways to install a XAP.
1. XAP deployer from WP SDK.
2. other unethical tools, which I would not name here.
BUT sadly you need a very strong luck, if you are using a Lumia 800, that's too at 7.8. The best way is to get a dev-account. Register as a student; it will be free. if you are successfully registered, you can install upto 10 apps
THIS is a illegally legal way to unlock a lumia. Moreover installing unlicensed XAP is again illegal.
all
You may install a custom rom and you won`t get problems with installing Xap and use Appz by your choice.
I have a moto E XT1524 with android 5.0.2, after downloading The upgrade that fixes the problem of WIFI, my phone did not turn over ... is dead ... any ideas to resurrect? The upgrade was installed, but did not start anymore
Looking across surely have a phone with "hardbrick" when I connect the device to the PC, in the device manager appears "QHSUSB_BULK" ...
* I read different subjects and no solution for this.... not?

Yep, QHSUSB_BULK means that it failed to load the Motorola bootloader. Your device will need to be blank flashed. I don't think the blankflash files for this device are publicly available.
Was your bootloader unlocked? Had you upgraded then downgraded the stock ROM at some point?

Yes!, I upgraded to the 5.1 and later back to 5.0.2, That is what causes the problem? and the bootloader is unlocked...
Sorry for the ignorance, but what a blankflash? Ican expect those files to be filtered?
Thanks!
Did you upgrade your bootloader when you upgraded to 5.1? What could have happened is that the OTA tried to "upgrade" (downgrade) your bootloader. Motorola does not allow bootloader downgrades. It blows a fuse that prevents rollback when you upgrade your bootloader.
Blank flashing is a procedure to install the bootloader on a phone that doesn't have a (working) bootloader. There are Qualcomm tools that can communicate with the boot rom over the "Download Mode" (QHSUSB-DLOAD and QHSUSB-BULK) interfaces. These Qualcomm tools can be used to re flash the bootloader. These tools require special versions of the bootloader images. These images are called the blank flash images. Motorola uses these images in the factory when initially setting up a new device. Public firmware releases don't contain these files. You will need blank flash files for the 5.1 bootloader. Sometimes these files leak.
